3 questions. #1 Do you think King Geedorah will be a space monster in the sequel or will the producers come up with a "more realalistic" origin? #2 Why wasnt this scene in Godzilla 2014?  #3Why are seagulls so attracted to Godzilla 2014?

JPJOE84 - This is a very interesting trio of questions you've presented! With so little having been released about the upcoming Godzilla sequel, it's hard to say what Ghidorah's back-story will be. That being said, it's likely the story writers will want to maintain at least something of Ghidorah's unorthodox origin. Only time will tell! As for the scene you've depicted, it's quite likely that it wasn't added to the film in favor of keeping the movie's running time to an acceptible length. That, however, is my opinion and should be taken with a hefty grain of salt. With regards to you third and final question, I believe seagulls are drawn to godzilla due to the sheer amount of biological matter that would likely be matted to his craggy hide after centuries of slumbering upon the bottom of the ocean. I suppose you could say they see him as a walking plate topped by all manner of goodies! In that respect, you could also say that the gulls  act as cleaners for Godzilla! That, of course, is only a theory of mine and is not to be taken as fact ( though it stands to reason well enough!). Thank you ever so much for presenting these intriguing questions for the community to ponder! :)

I can't be certain as to what Gareth Edwards will choose to do with King Ghidorah, but I hope he chooses to give him at least some kind of extraterrestrial origin. There is a greater chance of Ghidorah being an alien than him being three mutated Dorats or an ancient undeveloped Orochi guardian, but Legendary may also choose to create their own new origin for him. Time will tell. As for the seagulls, it is explained in The Return of Godzilla that Godzilla, like birds, follows the Earth's magnetism. Therefore, a possible theory is that the birds are simply following the Earth's magnetism just as Godzilla is. Of course, the theory of them eating food off of him makes just as much if not more sense.

Well, "bro," we're both entitled to our opinions and there's no definitive evidnce pointing in either direction. It's up to Gareth Edwards and Legendary, not any of us. I still hope to see an alien Ghidorah and I think it is certainly possible for Gareth to take that direction.

Can't wait. Honestly, I hope they give us a surprise no matter which way they go. Though I believe space is where the better origin is, I will reserve my final verdict in 4 years time.

As long as they make Ghidorah the antagonist, I'll be mostly happy. I still really would love to see what they could do with an alien origin.

1.I believe More realistic origin will be better

2.That was a concept scene

3.Idk But they are really big looking in the movie lol

I'm hoping they go one of these to possibly directions.

1. He was buried in a meteor that crashed into the earth 65million years ago, destroying most life. Godzilla considers him the ultimate imbalance of nature and considers Ghidorah his arch-nemesis. The two have had several battles over the many, many years and both have had victories and defeats.

2. They go in a completely different direction one will see coming.

I personally like the "Godzilla cleaners" theory about the seagulls.

Well no offense, but... since when was space an unrealistic origin. The Universe is so vast, and man barely scratches the surface of discovering what is out there. I won't mind King Ghidorahs origins but i would like him to be a creature that arrives in a meteor, and thats all we know about him

Remember that chap, I forget his name, he climbed Everest without any oxygen, came down nearly dead. They asked him, they said, "Why did you go up there to die?" He said, "I didn't, I went up there to live."

1) Portraying Ghidorah as a space monster will completely annihilate the integrity of the franchise as a grounded and "realistic" take on the Godzilla franchise. Ghidorah will have to have an Earth origin if he is to fit in Legendary's lore.

2) The train was not in Godzilla 2014 because it was from the 2012 teaser trailer Edwards put together when they didn't even know exactly what Godzilla would look like. Not a single piece of that teaser made it to the final film. Why? Because it was concept footage. What is the purpose of concepts that don't maket he cut? To be thrown away and make room for what does make the cut.

3) Seagulls aren't attracted to Godzilla, they are an incredibly common bird that live in and around seaside areas and regions within a certain distance of the ocean. There were a crap ton of seagulls because it was San Francisco. You don't see them, but there are thousands of them on the bridge at almost any time of the day as well as the surrounding buildings and islands in the bay.

As I have said countless times before, giving Ghidorah an alien origin would not ruin the realism. I don't know why so many people are fixated on this idea. A three-headed golden dragon is not going to be realistic any way you cut it. Explaining that he somehow evolved on Earth is a bit of a stretch too. At least with an alien origin you could build off the concept that Ghidorah is a lifeform with unknown origins whose evolution is a mystery. For all we know, there could be alien life like King Ghidorah in the universe, so there is no reason to automatically assume that expanding the new universe into space eliminates any realism. Gareth's goal isn't to make the series realistic, but grounded and serious. As long as the characters are perplexed by Ghidorah and he is handled in a serious, non-cheesey way, there is no reason to think that an extraterrestrial origin is impossible.

While Ghidorah is one of my favourite Godzilla monsters, I'm so uneasy about how they'll handle its origin. If they're going extraterrestrial they're going to have to try very hard to not make it cheesy. If King Ghidorah is going to have an extraterrestrial origin, it's going to have to be something like in Final Wars, from a meteor ((minus the Monster-X part)). But, if they do manage to pull off something with aliens and so on, then good on them - but bloody hell it'll be difficult!

"If King Ghidorah is going to have an extraterrestrial origin, it's going to have to be something like in Final Wars, from a meteor"

Or Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster? Considering the meteor origin was done there first, forty years before Final Wars.

Not to mention the Ghidorah in Final Wars was Keizer Ghidorah and not King Ghidorah.
