What if?

I had this question a while ago: What if Ford didn't destroy the MUTO nest? Would the MUTOs just kill Godzilla? Would the military destroy the nest? What would happen? I was thinking that Dr. Serizawa would convince the Admiral to send in forces to destroy the nest, distracting the MUTOs and allowing Godzilla to heal. What are your thoughts on this?

MOST LIKELY SCENARIO: The MUTOs kill Godzilla when the nuke is taken away. Soon, the MUTOs try to get the warhead for radation.

The real question is what is the gestation period of those eggs. They seemed rather far along since they'd only been laid earlier that day. The military, despite looking and seeing all the eggs didnt' seem that worried about them as no one besides Ford even showed an interest in trying to interrupt that, with the main idea to get the nuke out. So if Ford never blew up the nest, the Mutos probably would have killed Godzilla as he was on his backfoot fighting both of them and only got a reprieve due to them being distracted. So Godzilla dies the Mutos hatch and become the dominant species on the Earth.

If Ford hadn't destroyed the nest the MUTO would've likely killed Godzilla and stopped the soldiers from getting the warhead away. With the warhead still ticking in the city it would've wiped out the nest, the city and likely the MUTOs. The problem would've solved itself, but at the expense of millions of lives.

It's unlikely Stenz would have sent anyone to take out the nest during the actual attack since, A) no one made an attempt to contact HQ after finding the warhead. Getting rid of the nest was not their mission and they likely didn't know what it was. B) There was likely no communication between the soliders and HQ due to instrument blackout from the MUTO. C) The only way to make it to a direct target during the MUTO blackout was airdrop. I doubt they would have sent another one in with such little time left before the warhead exploded.

^Didnt the MUTO EMP stop the warheads timer?

Godzilla would have died and if the warhead was still going then it would wiped out the city and maybe the MUTO's if Godzilla would have died the muto's wold just take the warhead away from the humans and put it back in the nest then it would have exploded and killed the baby's anyways and if the MUTO's survive the blast they would just reproduce again

The only hop from their would be Rodan or Mothra!

It had an analog timer. EMPs wouldn't have affected it.

Actually.

Godzilla would have sniffed out the Eggs and set them ablaze later. Im should Godzilla would have survied by other means if Ford hadn't done that, he wasn't truly going to die just he was being weakened and unable to move by their onslaught.

The fact that he got up and continued fighting with nearly full power is the reason for my points.

So no, he would'nt have died he just needed to regain footing which he would have.

Good grief.

haha just like the old days huh, Gorilla?

Trust me, they could have killed and would have kill godzilla. Godzilla wasn't a "God" in this movie, he was just a animal and the MUTOS have murder his species before! The main reason I know he would have died is because they cut him open, with is extremely hard to do, only a few monsters have done it with blades and what ever Mecha G used. And they just used their claws. Godzilla isn't not invincible in this movie series and we gotta except that. Another point is that their emps had effect on his main attack, and when they had him on the ground crying in pain, they weren't letting up on him. And with the female Mutos size and power, it wouldn't have suprized me it we says guts and blood spurting out. And don't bring up what Dr.Serziwa (Srry can't spell big words) because he is just a person and he doesn't know better

His only chance of hope was Ford and When ford blew the thing up it made the mutos get distracted and the HokMuto fly away to see what made it blow up. Godzilla is an animal like i said and a handful of animals can get backup beaten really bad. Plus he pass out twice, Once because I building fell on him but if he wasn't weak he probably would have got back up. And second time because he bloody and beaten and tired and it took him atleast 9 hours to wake back up.

I'm with the majority here. Godzilla was being continuously pummeled by the MUTOs. Why would they have stopped unless they knew the threat was dead? Besides, from a storytelling standpoint, how much suspense is there behind the idea that Godzilla will win regardless because he's, "OmGZ s0 povvvverphULL!!!1!" Boring. Ford saved Godzilla's life. That's how the movie dramatically portrays it. That's how it is.

Not to mention he was clearly weakened after the fact-- What with a building falling on him, putting him out of commission for a moment and his exhaustion after the battle ended.

I do agree with Gorilla, however, that if Godzilla had somehow miraculously survived he would've found the nest. He seemed pretty good at sensing enemies hundreds of miles away.
