MemberMothra LarvaeMay-10-2015 8:07 PMThere is a Japanese dub of the film but there is no "Japanese Version" in which Godzilla wins against King Kong. That is a myth. Toho has said that KK was the winner. Though in every battle in the moive, Godzilla owns Kong.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-10-2015 8:16 PM^ This topic never said anything about the fake rumored "alternate ending." It was just asking if the original Japanese version of King Kong vs. Godzilla would get released in the U.S.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-10-2015 8:39 PM^Thank you for clearing that up. But that not how I orginally read it as. Anytime one hears about a "Japanese version" of KK Vs. G, they might be thinking about the alternate ending myth.
Anyways... there was a Region 2 release of the DVD in 2001, that is in Japanese. Finding it though might be a bit tough though. Someone on Ebay might have a copy for sale, but expect them to be pricey ($55 and up. Blue-ray and/ or 60th Anniversy editions.)

AdminGodzillaMay-10-2015 8:43 PMI mean, the Japanese version is different from the significantly altered American version. I think it's accurate to call them different "versions". I also wouldn't say there's a Japanese "dub" since that's the film's native language.

I just got mine today in the mail. And yes, Godzilla roars before Kong does at the end. Meaning he survived.

AdminGodzillaMay-11-2015 6:01 PMActually, the roars were more like a curtain call. It was like the monsters taking a bow if the movie were a stage play. It doesn't really imply one thing or another regarding the story.
