After a lull on the Godzilla 2014 news front, we receive a photo of a Godzilla (2014) toy model, on display at what looks to be some kind of toy fair or licensing expo. The source of the image and its location is unknown at this point, but it certainly looks like a legitimate display. As we had reported last month, many toy retailers in the US have revealed that Godzillab toy orders should be arriving by the end of this month, with pictures sure to be revealed no later than February, 2014.
However, since the followin image is not an "officially released" image by either Legendary or Warner Bros., to avoid any possible confusion, we urge readers to take the news with a grain of salt, especially considering the recent "fake" toy images which have made their rounds on our forums over the past month and a half.
That being said, this photo looks immensely legitimate and is more than likely an early look at one of the upcoming Godzilla (2014) toy models. It should be noted however, that in the image, there is a sign in front of the toy that says "Models are not final. Pending licensor approval". Which further leads us to believe that this image is the real deal. But here, see for yourself and let us know what you think by commenting below or by joining the conversation in the Godzilla 2014 forums!

Saw this a minute ago on the original post, I like the head and 'chomp and thrash" idea for it, keep up the gravy Legendary!

Hmm, I wonder if this is final. Oh well, even if it is, it looks pretty darn cool! I wonder what would the non-Godzilla fans react when they see this Godzilla in theaters. They'll be amazed!
It looks more realistic and more animal-ish! ^_^

All these people complaining on the Facebook post about Godzilla's design and that this is not the final one. While I can appreciate opinions and understand why no one believes it, it's like no one is reading the post or grateful how much work Gareth and everybody are going through to bring us the best Godzilla movie ever. It's shameful.
As for the design itself I love it, it's perfect. This describes a "real" Godzilla, can't wait to see him in action.

All the parts match up to the leaked photos of the Godzilla figure in progress and is ultimately similar to anything leaked thus far. Ladies and gentlemen...I believe the eagle has landed and I'm likin' it!

I love it, personally. I even like the feet, despite my initial feeling that I wouldn't like them. They just seem to fit him in this form. I definitely am looking forward to the final product, and will get my hands on one as soon as possible.

I love this design. It feels like they took parts of all the Godzilla`s, and put them togheter, Then used that as their silhouette. Then they took Zilla, and ripped his skin off and plastered it around the silhouette. Lovely.
My only gripe is the fourth toe. I mean, i love the new feet, but the fourth toe sits weirdly. Oh well, atleast he has four toes, and theyre are much better than Zilla`s chicken feet.

Kind of scary though thatthe movie less than 3 months away and there's hardly any hype or more news than we're getting coming in.............or am i just being a paranoid GODZILLA fan.
Posted: Jan-13-2014 3:12 AM
love the feet way better than the early models and zilla's.
Posted: Jan-13-2014 3:19 AM
If these are the final proportions, I'll say I'm quite happy. Glad he doesn't have tiny t-rex arms.

I am in love with this design. I would have to say this is my second favorite Godzilla design. :)
Posted: Jan-13-2014 6:05 AM
AGREED! that is a badass GODZILLA love the skin texture very real its very crockadilian you can definately tell he's an amphibious creature, still cant help but notice with this figure as well with other pics of the new G that he has a "GILL" pattern on his neck not a bad thing i think gills would be an eteresting feature for the newG to have........but thats me

I posted a comment that's not up, so in case it shows, sorry for the repetition. Head is good, nice and mean, but the snout is too rounded. Textures is nice. I thougth the scales might be a little too clean, but they are gnarly. Claws are too small, and the backplates are as well. To me, that's a major miss. Feet look way better than I thought they would. The tail is good, as it seems to be segmented. I don't loke the gills. Doesn't need them. Placement of the arms is awkward, but that may just be the toy. Overall, a win. Not perfect, but compared to others, a GREAT GODZILLA! One of/maybe the best. I'm super excited!

no way I've been waiting forever to see him now we need to just see MUTO
Posted: Jan-13-2014 10:35 AM
The feet look bad and the spines are too short... But for an american version it looks good.

This is already my second favorite Godzilla (my fav will be always godzilla2000) anyway...this one looks amazing it's just.....looks more realistic ... Good work Legendary

I've only seen the top part of the image. But, what I've seen, I like.
I believe, I feel we're in for something earth-shaking in May.
Godzilla is shaping up really well. This fan boy is very pleased.

Just saw the full image.
It looks great. This design has a lot a potential for horror and mayhem. It will be interesting to see what kind of POV's Gareth Edwards uses in the SPFX scenes. Personally, I hope he puts us right in the middle of things, as they happen, a la the Halo Jumpers. I want to be in it, not just an observer.

If Big G looks that great in an unfinished toy form, he will likely be 10x more baddass looking in the actual film.

I like that the 2014 design still follows the Toho designs, but I feel that the snout is too "canine" (wolf-like), and that its teeth all stick out, like an "overbite". It also missing the small ears. My favorite design is the Millenium Godzilla (from "Godzilla 2000" to "Final Wars"), because its snout was longer and triangular, and had fangs that stick out when the jaws were closed. It was also more nimble than the other Toho designs. But for now, the 2014 design keeps the Tyrannosaurus look and humanoid stance of a predator, which makes Godzilla seem powerful, intelligent, and dangerous! I hope the new Godzlla uses more of his hands and claws that the Toho designs did.

GODZILLA SUPPOSE TO BE GOD-LIKE, NOT "ANIMAL-ISH", GODDAMMIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Posted: Jan-18-2014 2:26 AM
Who thinks they should make a 4 inch tall Godzilla toy?
Posted: Jan-18-2014 2:39 PM
I think I might be the only one who is not impressed with the new Godzilla. I love the concept, and the current interpretation of the plot, teasers, and reveals...but...
...the new Godzilla just looks plain 'cartoony' to me. The pug-nosed look just doesn't do it for me. He's fat. In fact...that is what the new Godzilla reminds me of. He looks like someone's overfed, pug dog. He does not look lethal or menacing...or even threatening.
He looks like he'd roll over on his back for a tummy rub if someone pulled out a doggie biscuit.
I wanted to like him. I truly did. I've been a G-fan for over 30 years. Seen all the movies. Etc. etc. etc. Other than the hype...my gut is telling me this has 'flop' written all over it. I hope I am wrong. I really do.
Posted: Jan-19-2014 3:14 AM
@MREX21 - I don't know where you're getting this "cartoonish" impression from. Are you using the toy for guidance? We've seen little to no clear footage of Godzilla so far so I think you should refrain from such harsh critiques until you have more to go by. I'm genuinely stunned that someone who calls themselves a fan could be so instantly damning. Of course you're entitled to your opinion but I just think you're basing it on the wrong things.
Posted: Jan-20-2014 12:51 AM
Let's hope you're right and this 'chibi' looking thing that is the Godzilla toy is distorted. Somehow, I suspect it isn't. It doesn't look like a 'toy' so much as it looks like a sculpture or figure. Sorry...but it's just plain rolly-polly and makes Godzilla look like he's bloated. For goodness sake...this thing looks like the T-Rex from Ringo Starr's 'Caveman' movie.
Godzilla 2014 is an epic rebirth to Toho's Godzilla franchise. Directed by Monsters' Gareth Edwards, Godzilla hits theaters May 16th, 2014 and stars Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn & Bryan Cranston. [Learn More]
