Awesome Godzilla 2 Monsterverse Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan and Varan fan art!

Godzilla 2 King of the Monsters is still over 540 days away, but already fans have begun creating and sharing some phenomenal artwork inspired by the upcoming Destroy all Monsters style sequel. As we know the film will feature and introduce us to Monsterverse versions of Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah. Cave paintings spotted in the Kong: Skull Island post-credits scene, along with some subtle viral marketing by Legendary have given us somewhat of an idea as to what the Monsters will look like, but currently no official concept art or images of the Monsters exist online. However, that hasn't stopped fans from putting their own spins on the updated Hollywood versions of these iconic Toho Monsters.

One fan, named Ryan Monsod created the following pieces, inspired by the upcoming Godzilla movie sequel and they definitely caught our attention. Below are his own versions of Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, Ghidorah and... Varan? (Varan is not a confirmed Monster for Godzilla: King of the Monsters but still neat to see him included in this list) The piece is entitled "Godzilla and Friends", but by no means are these Monsters going to be acting very friendly on-screen, come March 2019. Check out Ryan's work below and be sure to let us know what you think of his versions of these Monsters in the comments section!

I think those are amazing. I'd be thrilled if King Ghidorah looked like that in the new film.

Also, I think that last one is Gigan. Not Varan. The facial side claws, the arms come to a point, and the chest claws, the back fin, all indicate Gigan.

@Dopepope, ah I think you're right! A radically redesigned Gigan, perhaps! Would love to see Gigan explored in the Monsterverse.

Gotta say the Mothra walking on two legs is...weird.

That incarnation of Mothra.. looks pretty rad.. cannot say that I don't like it.. but given the first MUTO's overall design.. insect like.. it would be a refreshing take on Mothra... the same with Gigan.. almost insect like with a dash of reptile.. not too shabby. After all... Godzilla in the old days.. contended with various insect kaiju.. Kumonga..Kamacuras.. Megalon...Megaguirus... Battra... Mothra... so a new version of Mothra would be cool.. and in my opinion.. that design could work.. for it is a kaiju and there is nothing normal about kaiju.

Tbh, I'm not really a fan of this Ghidorah design, I'd be kind of disappointed if this is what it looked like in the movie. Guess I'm just a sucker for the classic triangle scales and the flashy crests on the heads.

I love the mothra design tho! A much more fitting Mothra for the Monsterverse than the classic one, in my opinion.

Can't say much about the Rodan design unless I saw it with the wings unfolded.

I love the dorsal fins on Godzilla, that's what I would like to see in KOTM. If mothra stood up like that, I could get used to that. not a bad idea. Rodan stands upright often times. Mothra has a huge disadvantage when she lands on the ground. her whole back side is exposed to other monsters crushing her and she cant even see it. this would be pretty cool.

^The word on the street is that is supposed to be Gigan. I kind of get in in the Monsterverse, he kinda looks like a MUTO so I get it. This artist has a pretty cool idea for him.
