BREAKING: Godzilla vs. Kong (2020) officially rated PG-13!

I was kinda hoping for a gritty R rated movie but oh well.. we’ll see how this goes

Not too terribly surprising. The last three MonsterVerse movies were PG-13, so I didn't really expect this one to be different.

its says brief language so thank god that means they most likely wont put another f-bomb in it.

For anyone thinking a niche property, that struggled at the box office last year, was going to cut its audience to even less with an R rating--You're nuts.

It shouldn't be a game changer. I think a more violent and profane R rated version would seem sort of jarring.

Aren't all Godzilla and King Kong movies or less PG to PG-13? When has Godzilla or Kong ever been Rated R?

The Monsterverse has already pushed the bracket pretty far on the PG-13 front anyways; it's kind of an established part of the franchise now.

And anyways, as many others reporting on this have mentioned, it's the fact that the movie has gotten its MPA rating now at all that's relevant, since it means a close-to-complete version of the film was screened for them.

An R rating would kill monstreverse. Which wants new young fans. Not just catering to the older ones.
