Legendary Comics has announced a brand new Monsterverse graphic novel titled Godzilla: Aftershock! This new comic will take place between the events of Gareth Edwards' 2014 Godzilla movie and the upcoming sequel King of the Monsters, directed by Michael Dougherty.

Written by Arvid Nelson and illustrated by Drew Edward Johnson, Godzilla: Aftershock takes place after the first film and will introduce readers to a new threat which is bringing with it devastating earthquakes, and unstoppable urge to destroy.

The brilliant and driven Monarch operative Dr. Emma Russell races to stop the threat as clues emerge to reveal a terrible secret—a tragedy, of apocalyptic proportions from the distant past that changed the course of human history, is returning to threaten it once more. A shadowy figure stalks Emma’s every move as she travels the globe to uncover secrets, while Godzilla clashes in an ancient rivalry as old as the earth itself. The fate of the world lies in the balance in an epic confrontation that no Godzilla fan will want to miss.

Godzilla: Aftershock will hit comic book shelves in Spring of 2019! Watch this space for more updates!

G. H. (Gman)

I wonder how inconsistent this one will be.

G. H. (Gman) Or how non-canon or contradicted it actually is.

My opinion: (In a sarcastic Jim Carrey impersonation) Wow. So canon and so not going to be ignored. I wonder how much of an impression it will leave. B-e-a-utiful.

Lol :)

Looking forward to this.  In spite of the lackluster action scene art progression on the last one I rather liked it, and I don't care about all the fan griping about how it may or may not "fit" into the Monsterverse.   Far as I care it's a chapter of this universe, sometimes give it a quick read before seeing G14 again.

Im Durp

I expect this to be a lot more in line with the movies since they're releasing it into a known universe with a plan rather than 1 standalone movie that might get a sequel.

True, Durp. It's meant to be a tie-in, so I suspect it will keep inline with the film's plot elements.

What I want to know is this... will there be a mega kaiju in the third installment the brings G and KK together in order to defeat it ?
