Godzilla: King of the Monsters (Godzilla 2) is the upcoming sequel to Legendary Pictures' and Warner Bros. Pictures' Godzilla (2014) movie. Directed by Michael Dougherty, Godzilla: King of the Monsters will see the introduction of other Toho monsters Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah. All three superspecies will vie for dominance of Earth and Godzilla will rise again to restore nature's balance.

Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters is still over a year away from hitting theaters, but with very little news or marketing material being released for the film at the moment we turn our attention to some awesome Godzilla fan art! Legendary have yet to unveil what the new Rodan is going to look like. We've got a glimpse already of what Mothra will resemble, but beyond Mothra and Godzilla, Rodan and Ghidorah's new designs remain tightoy under wraps.

The following Zbrush concept art by Instagram user Jordjira embodies what many of us expect the new Monsterverse Rodan will probably look like in the upcoming Godzilla sequel:

Of course, this is merely fan art, but how awesome would it be if the Monsterverse Rodan looked something like this? Are you a fan of this design? Sound off in the comments and let us know!

Well Michael Dougherty did post a picture with a box saying Rodan maquette, so hopefully Rodan will be the first we see of. I'm hoping they go for the Kong Skull Island style of marketing, where they show us the monsters, rather than the Godzilla marketing.

Almost looks pretty convincing. Looks good, but still reminds me of Heisei Rodan, probably the most realistic version of Rodan until King of the Monsters comes out.
