Interesting that the names of two different designers on two different Godzilla productions were recently confirmed on twitter. Yuki Moriyama has announced he is currently tackling the CG designs for Godzilla: Monster Planet. Moriyama's best known character designs can be found in the Knights of Sidonia franchise as well as Ajin and, most recently, Blame! (2017). He was also an animator for Eden of the East (2009). It is unclear if he will be designing Godzilla as well.
However, for those still chomping at the bit for a peek at Godzilla, the Official Godzilla Anime Twitter, urged fans to look forward to the upcoming design. An image with the production team apparently looking to improve the CG animation quality highlighted the tweet. Should we expect a look at Godzilla soon?
What do you think about Moriyama's previous work? When do you think we'll see our first glimpse at Godzilla? Sound off in the comments below!
Special thanks to Kaleb Korger and Benjamin for the heads up.
