Since the Godzilla vs. Kong movie footage leaked online, one thing we noticed is Godzilla's dorsal spikes - perhaps it's the angle of the video and the poor quality, but it looks like the dorsal spikes seem to have been edited to look smaller. Comparing the photos below you can see the difference in dorsal spike design. Do you think the Godzilla vs. Kong dorsal spikes look smaller than in King of the Monsters?

I'm pretty sure it's the angle. One thing that I did notice that they changed is that the tip of his tail is now back to the tapered end that 2014 had as opposed to the more blunt, rounded end that KOTM had.

And I'm honestly glad for that. The tapered look is a lot better, IMO.

Might just be the angle. I don't see why they'd make his dorsal spines so small. Unless that's some other kind of Godzilla, like Godzilla Junior in Godzilla V.S. Destoroyah. But I still doubt it...

The aesthetic is definitely still along the same lines as KOTM's take, but I gotta agree that the angle is throwing off proper measurement.

I agree with everyone. I think it is the angle of the shot and the poor picture quality. They did a fantasic job with the dorsal plates in KOTM. I can't imagine them changing again, even in size.

Yeah, same here. Let's just wait for a better quality photo before assuming.

Actually I think his tail looks the same as it did in kotm it's just in this scene the end of his tail dips behind some fog and/or into the way and that is why it looks different.

JHT No, it definitely looks like they tapered out the end of the tail. Look at the bottom right corner. That's clearly his tail right there.

His spines look the same size tbh.

That's just me though.

To me it looks like the largest spine has been torn off.

...That may actually be the case, because Kongs arms are FRICKIN HUGE

I dunno, based on the original trailer description, Kong's individual punches don't seem to do much to Godzilla.
