BREAKING: In a bizarre and unexpected twist, the official Godzilla: King of the Monsters art book has been released via Barnes and Noble and inside the book is a plethora of official concept art for Mike Dougherty's Godzilla sequel. Two concepts in particular have us very excited since they depict a very clear image of a Monsterverse Gigan, Kumonga and Gamera?! Well... maybe not Gamera since he isn't a Toho monster, but there is definitely a giant Turtle Titan which looks surprisingly a lot like Gamera. It could also be Kamoebas - a giant Turtle Kaiju who appeared in Godzilla: Tokyo S.O.S. Check out the following scans below:

Although not shown on screen, these are official works of art for Godzilla 2... which begs the question - will we see Gigan, Kumonga and Gamera in Godzilla vs. Kong?!

This is extremely exciting news (specifically Gigan). Let us know what you think in the comments section below!

So... was the giant spider titan that we saw in KoG not  the "Kumonga" of the monsterverse??

I have a feeling the bottom image is concept art for other titans, that spider may have evolved into scylia (something like that) which we see in KOTM. and as for Gamera, I don't think TOHO would allow them to use Godzilla and Gamera at the same time. But that is undoubtedly Gigan!

I feel like they will make a biomechanical kaiju mixed with DNA of Ghidorah and MUTO. They will make him the kaiju that will keep Skull Island in check until he breaks free of human control due to his Ghidorah DNA. Well, this could be a new origin story for Gigan. He shares the red eyes with MUTO so why not. He can also possess enhanced EMP to neutralize any energy attacks from other kaiju.

Gigan!

That is so Gamera there is no debating that. The design on the back is so similar to Gamera. Gigan looks pretty crazy though and I would love to see him in a new film. Kumonga is just a spider so yeah.

Unpopular opinion, I don’t want Gigan in the monsterverse. An alien cyborg just does not fit the monsterverse for me. I just don’t want Mecha anything really. I would like to see some kind of biollante based titan made from Ghidorah’s dna. Considering he is an alien with super regeneration powers, it would make sense for it to mutate or just regrow itself by taking in DNA from other titans and whatnot turning it into some monstrous beast. But no human DNA.

Agreed with the above.

Ooh! Gigan would be an excellent addition to the Monsterverse! A sadistic kaiju to be sure.

An alien cyborg just does not fit the monsterverse for me.

In Legendary monsterverse Gigan can be a biomechanoid.

And Biollante without human DNA it's not Biollante. Human DNA - this is the essence of this kaiju.

That has to be Kamoebas, not Gamera. Gamera's not a Toho monster (never has been, the films were by Daiei), and the rights to the character are held by a different company.

that definitely looks more like Gamera de a Kamoebas, but will not that violate Daiei's rights?
By the way, the truth I'm not a fan of Gigan: some of its characteristics are very good but I don't like its form and less for the monsterverse.
