In what is starting to feel like a countdown to Godzilla's possible reveal at Anime Japan 2017, the Official Godzilla Anime Twitter has released more concept art. The latest piece feels like an Alien movie, with closer glimpses at characters in astronaut suits and otherworldly plant life:

The cast and crew of the Godzilla anime will appear March 26th at Anime Japan. We may see more teasing of the production until then. Keep checking back for more info on the next Godzilla feature.

Thanks to Huge-Ben for the tip.

More about upcoming Godzilla movies

Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters is the sequel to Gareth Edwards' Godzilla (2014) and is being directed by Michael Dougherty. The film will introduce Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah and more monsters to the Warner Brothers / Legendary Monsterverse cinematic universe. Godzilla vs. Kong (2020) is the sequel to Michael Dougherty's Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters and will be the fourth and final installment in the Monsterverse movie quadrilogy. Cashing in to the success of Alien: Covenant perhaps?  ;)

Not a big fan of anime, but this seems interesting!

Wonder why they haven't shown anything about Godzilla yet.

Ultrazero,
I think they're waiting to reveal it March 26th at Anime Japan.

Mikikame,
As far as we know it's a movie, not a series. It was revealed recently that the voice actors have "wrapped" recording, which seems unlikely for a series. Regardless, hopefully that will be clarified March 26th as well.

Gman- I think that make's sense.

I agree with Gman2887. They're probably trying to build up anticipation for the design reveal. Remember how long it took for Legendary Godzilla and Shin Godzilla's designs to be revealed?

I'm getting a feeling that this is an abandoned Earth after monsters ravaged the world

They've already revealed a photo of Godzilla in the Tanzawa mountains, he's LARGER than the highest peak of those mountains which ranged from 1000-2000 meters and he's above that range, so this is by far the largest Godzilla we'll ever get.

He looks cool with a combination of G14, Shin and Millenium.

CGF,
If you're talking about this photo, it's been confirmed fake. It's fan made, which is why we didn't report it:

It's still pretty cool though.
