A new promotional featurette video for Toho's upcoming Godzilla: Resurgence has been leaked, along with the film's potentially official plot synopsis and run time! The promotional video features a few new behind-the-scenes cut-scenes as well as interviews with the film's leading cast mates, which you can watch below:

Despite Toho having remained very quiet regarding Shin-Gojira's plot, we have our first supposed translation of the film's official synopsis thanks to a community individual on the Gormaru Island Facebook page (via Toyama Theater Daitokai), check it out:

A cause unknown, an accident has occurred in the tunnels of the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, causing an emergency cabinet meeting to convene. Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town with its landing reaching the capital. The mysterious giant organism named "Godzilla".

The official run time for Godzilla: Resurgence clocks in at 118 minutes, according to both Cinema Square 7 and Movie Walker.

That run time concerns me.

That's about two hours; decent length as long as the pacing is right and there aren't too many unnecessary hangups on subjects that hold little relevance to the Film as a whole.

I normally like my movies to be around two hours, but thinking back to say Final Wars, I hope Godzilla doesn't disappear for that 1 hour plus time frame. Perhaps they will need that time to explain the new backstory or maybe that means alot of action. Either way, still excited.

My problem is both of the last Godzilla movies (2014 and Final Wars) were 2 hours and had issues keeping things central on Godzilla and were both criticized for the lack of Godzilla. There were other monsters in both movies to offset some of that feeling, but it's still a little concerning, especially since this one's a solo flick.

Hopefully the characters are worthwhile.

Thanks for the link Jamaal! I'll have to check it on desktop when I get home, my phone is being stubborn and won't translate the article. Anybody else online able to translate and see if it offers any new info?

I dig the new image it features though:

I agree with everyone else here too about the runtime. It seems incredibly short.
