Worst Godzilla Movies Ever

My three least are all in the hesei series, it is impossible for me to sit through the entirety of Mothra 92, SpaceGodzilla and it seems like I'm one of the very few on here who HATES Destroyah.

In terms of worst done? Probably Final wars, but I still thing it's one of the most entertaining godzilla films. For what I actually called the worst I would say Hedorah. The film had no idea what it wanted to be.

It's not just me that thinks it  the worst either, the creator of Godzilla Tomoyuki Tanaka had the director banned from ever directing a godzilla again after seeing it.

1. Godzilla's Revenge - is by far the worst, Simply Unbearable.

2. Godzilla vs Hedorah - A close second, equally horrendous.

3. Godzilla vs Gigan - Some people like it but I think it's just boring.

4. Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla - Don't like the design of spacegodzilla and moguera is a joke.

5. King Kong vs Godzilla - The way Godzilla acts in this movie is really annoying.

Others that people seem to hate but I actually found them entertaining are, Son of Godzilla, Godzilla vs the Sea Monster and Godzilla vs Megalon.

All the Heisei films except '84 and vs King Ghidorah, what Johnsmith says, Godzilla vs Megaguirus and Godzilla vs Megalon.

and Godzilla Raids Again, I just couldn't watch that film.

I'm sorry, what website do you run? Link? And do you intend to use this information and movie watching for articles on the what is percieved to be the worst Godzilla movies?

Well to be honest, it really depends on who you ask. I don't think there exists a film that is universally hated by all the G-fans, if there is one than it must fail pretty hard. But tread carefully, spreading a commentary like that may breed new haters where potential G-fans should be.

1. Godzilla's Revenge (I am very surprised that no one has mentioned it yet)

2. Godzilla vs the Seam Monster

3. Godzilla vs Megalon

4. Godzilla vs Hedorah

@Gman2887 @Devianteist The site I run is Death's Door Prods. These suggestions are for movie commentaries. We have a weekly movie commentary feature we do every Friday, with a theme tying a month of commentaries together. For example, April was Sean Bean Dies Month where we watched movies with Sean Bean.

May is going to be Worst Godzilla Month (working title), where we're going to watch 5 of the worst Godzilla movies based on your suggestions (thanks, by the way) and the suggestions of some friends and colleagues who know more about the Godzilla franchise than I do.

I'll be compiling a list of potentials based on the suggestions, narrowing it down to four (because Godzilla 1998 is guaranteed a spot on the list), determining an order, and posting it on May 1st.

In that case I personally wish to have no part of it. It skews a little to close to representing the franchise past as a black mark that the new movie has to fight back from.

I'm reminded of when the 2009 Star Trek was released, and some outlets tried to stereotype Trek fans who were upset with the shift in direction of the franchise. They used the vocal minority of disappointed fans and [poor] examples of past Trek movies to illustrate a false interpretation of how bad they were in comparison to the new movie.

I don't presume that's your intent and I apologize for being a bad sport, but I don't care to partake in something that could be skewed to represent the franchise poorly. Best of luck and care with your commentaries however.

Maybe do a 'Best' as well as a 'Worst'???

I dunno, I feel like if you don't know much about the franchise, there is little point to writing a list of any kind. 

Simply because 'best' and 'worst' is really subjective, especially when it comes to Godzilla movies. You say that you don't want the list skewed to your tastes, but everyone's list will be skewed to taste one way or another. 

Some people enjoy the campier films, others prefer the more serious ones. Some can't shake the bias of the Godzilla films they grew up on in particular. Some prefer movies based on which monsters they like the best, or sort their preferences based on the amount of stock footage used. Others have preferences based on suit design and/or combat style, while for others the plot is what matters to them the most. Most use their own unique personal combination of factors to develop their preferences.

In this way, I don't think you could come up with a 'universal' hated list because the preferences will always skew it. 

So since preferences always skew it, any article written can/will/should be based on preferences. It's inevitable.

And if you don't know the franchise, it would be difficult for you to have/talk about preferences.

So lacking preferences, you really lack an article. A poll perhaps...you could do a poll, or a survey......but an article seems silly. 

@Gman2887 @Madison I totally get it. But my intention was never to paint Godzilla in a negative light. My rationale behind doing a "Worst of" month is because the new movie is coming out in May, and I wanted to show that even if the movie turns out to be bad, there are still plenty worse movies in the franchise out there.

And if it turns out to be good, it would make the new one look that much better, and then we will be following it up with a "Best of" month. I just like to get the bad stuff out of the way first so that the good stuff is that much better by comparison.

Also, I think it would just be fun to watch big dumb monster movies for two months straight.

I like all of them the same... but if I'd have to pick...

I'd pick godzilla's revenge... that's just a best of showa godzilla compilation with a story arch of an obnoxius child thrown into it...

and am I the only person on here who like godzilla vs space godzilla?
