EXT. Tokyo morning

In the distance is the city of Tokyo as the sun rises behind it. It is a metropolis of giant towers and buildings to one side of which is Tokyo bay. Then the voice of Godzilla narrates.

Godzilla's Narration

How do you know you are not happy?

EXT. Godzilla's apartment complex seconds later

In a region of the city is an area of small shops and homes and a few modest buildings. It is early as a Japanese man opens his shop for the morning. Nearby is a small, somewhat rundown apartment complex which the scene moves towards.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

How do you know that you dislike what your life has become.

INT. Godzilla's apartment seconds later

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

How do you know that you are not content with what kind of person you become.

INT. Godzilla's bedroom seconds later

A small bedroom with only a large bed and a nightstand. The person sleeping in it is covered by a thick blanket and cannot be seen, but who ever it is has a massive bulk; there is the sound of loud snoring. But a reptilian tail pokes out from under the blanket. There is a radio clock on the nightstand. The scene moves towards the bed.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

How do you know that the present is difficult to endure? Today will answer those questions.

Then there is a close up image of the clock radio. Its alarm goes off filling the room with a loud noise. After a few moments a scaly, reptilian hand with claws on the fingers hits the snooze button, but the claw on the index fingers punctures the button. The man in the bed, Godzilla, lays on his side. He is about six feet tall, looks like a reptile with plates on his back and a long tail; he seems a bit bulky. He wheres an under shirt and boxer shorts. He sits on the side of the bed and looks on the clawed finger which now has the button on it.

Godzilla

I hate these claws.

Godzilla gets up from the bed, removes the button from his finger and throws it aside. He then slowly walks towards the door with his head held down.

p.o.v.

A shot from Godzilla's perspective. He is looking at his reflection in the mirror of his small bathroom from the image is blurry. The Godzilla puts on thick glasses and the image becomes clear. He looks at his reflection then sighs loudly.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

A routine so predictable that you know what will happen at every part this day.

EXT. GODZILLA'S APARTMENT COMPLEX SECONDS LATER

Godzilla, holding the mug and a briefcase, walks out the front doors of his building and looks around the street. Some people notice him but seem to try and avoid looking at him. Godzilla walks down the sidewalk but stops in front of the small shop the Japanese man owns who now is using a broom to sweep the ground in front of the entrance. Godzilla stops and looks at him. Godzilla bows his head.

GODZILLA

Good morning.

The man looks at Godzilla then frowns. He says nothing and goes into his shop. Godzilla just looks at the shop.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I have tried to speak with that man many times during the past seven years, yet he always ignores me. I know he dislikes me.

Godzilla looks around and sees several people looking at him and frowning.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Such a sentiment towards me is very common in Tokyo.

Godzilla then walks down the street.

Though I know I would not like what they probably would say to me.

Godzilla then looks at a woman sitting on a bench. She is an older, somewhat plump woman named Emiko is a suit and skirt. She turns to the man beside her and speaks.

emiko

A nice morning is it not?

The man ignores her and Godzilla just looks at her.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I am not aware what her name is though I do know she is lonely. She tries to speak with the other passengers yet on the Tokyo subway it seems people do not desire to converse with each other. She always tries to begin a conversation with strangers who never reply.

Godzilla looks at her for a moment then back down at the ground.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I would not mind if she spoke with me, though she never has. I wish she would.

Godzilla turns and his tale hits a man behind him. Godzilla notices and bows his head.

GODZILLA

I apologize sir.

The man seems to ignore him.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

In such a small space, a tail can really be a nuisance.

Godzilla looks around then looks back down at the ground.

EXT. sun insurance later

Later in the day. In downtown Tokyo is a large office building amongst the busy streets of the thriving metropolis. Over the entrance to the building is the name of the company, "Sun Insurance." People walk past the building.

A large room full of office cubicles which is bustling with activity. Men and women in suits walk about, talk on telephones inside their cubicles and converse at a water cooler in one corner of the room. To one side is a large window along and entire wall which Tokyo can be seen from.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Once, I did not need to be employed. But since everything changed, I have worked for an insurance provider.

INT. Godzilla's cubicle seconds later

A large cubicle. There is a shot of the desk, on it is a computer as well as a photograph in a frame. An image of the photograph, a picture of Godzilla's son Minira; he looks like a more anthropomorphic version of Godzilla; a reptile in a suit. There is an image of a cup with pencils and pens in it. Then a image of an elderly couple sitting in front of the desk in two chairs looking at the camera; Haru and his wife Kokona. Haru seems expressionless but Kokona seems afraid. Then an image of Godzilla, who sits behind the desk looking at the camera. He looks at them for a moment then at his computer monitor. He then looks back at them.

GODZILLA

I am sorry, but your claim is invalid.

Haru seems upset.

haru

We lost everything in that fire. We will be penniless.

Godzilla looks at them for a moment then back at the screen.

GODZILLA

You where several months delinquent on payments for your policy. Our company policy is that your claim will be denied.

Kokona looks at Haru.

kokona

Let's just leave.

Haru looks at Godzilla.

haru

Is there anything you can do? Please.

The scene freezes on Godzilla.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I have had many foes. Other creature's like me. Entire armies. But the foe I have now is by far the worse.

The scene resumes moving.

GODZILLA

I will consult with my manager. Perhaps he may overlook company policy.

A image of Godzilla looking at the camera. Behind him is a door and he seems to be silent, almost like he is unsure of what to say. An image of the other side of the office. A man, Mr. Takeda, sits behind a large expensive desk and behind him is a window that overlooks Tokyo bay. Mr. Takeda is a well groomed man in a expensive black suit and he is frowning. Godzilla bows his head.

GODZILLA

I need to speak with you Mr. Takeda about a claim.

Mr. Takeda

I thought I had been clear when I informed you not to come into my office unless it was important.

GODZILLA

It is about a policy for a home.

MR. TAKEDA

Do your job. Company guidelines are very clear, you do not need to intrude yourself and speak with me. Do you need me to tell you how to do your job?

GODZILLA

I just wanted to ask.

Takeda interrupts him.

MR. TAKEDA

Sometimes I wonder if you still have a brain the size of a walnut.

Godzilla looks at the floor.

GODZILLA

I just wanted to say that the claim is valid.

MR. TAKEDA

Then why barge into my office?

Godzilla starts backing away towards the door.

GODZILLA

Forgive my intrusiveness Mr. Takeda. I just wanted to notify you.

Godzilla then leaves the office. Takeda looks at the door then grunts.

MR. TAKEDA

I don't trust that thing.

INT. GODZILLA'S CUBICLE SECONDS LATER

Haru and Kokona sit in front of the desk when Godzilla enters the cubicle and sits in his chair. He seems to avoid looking at them.

GODZILLA

My manager agreed to overlook the overdue payments for your policy. A check will be mailed to you with three working days.

Kokona looks at her husband, she still seems afraid.

KOKONA

Can we go Haru.

The elderly couple gets up, but when they go to leave Godzilla speaks up.

GODZILLA

May I speak with your husband alone.

She nods and leaves the cubicle. Godzilla looks at Haru.

GODZILLA

Why is your wife afraid of me?

Haru waits a moment then replies.

HARU

Sorry. She was a little girl when, well, she witnessed the first time you destroyed Tokyo.

Godzilla looks at him in silence for a moment.

HARU

Thank your employer.

Haru quickly leaves the cubicle. Godzilla looks at the exit to the cubicle for a moment when the scene freezes on his image.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I did not lie and risk my job to help this elderly couple, it was more an act of disobedience.

The scene resumes moving and Godzilla looks at the ground.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

If you think I mind someone being afraid of me, you would be mistaken. Better to be feared rather then endure the subtle animosity all in Tokyo have towards me.

Godzilla then starts punching keys on his keyboard when one of his claws puncture and button. Godzilla looks at the button impaled on his claw. He removes it and throws it into a waste bin. He opens a drawer in his desk, inside are keyboard buttons which have bin meticulously organized. Godzilla takes out the correct button and places on the keyboard. He begins typing delicately.

GODZILLA

I really dislike these claws.

INT. OFFICES OF SUN INSURANCE SECONDS LATER

Two men in suits, Yamato and Yoshi, stand in front of the water cooler and speak as they hold paper cups.

yamato

That had to be the most entertaining episode I've have seen yet.

Yoshi

It keeps improving with each show.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Mostly they discuss a particular game show.

Yamato and Yoshi look off frame and frown.

yoshi

Great.

Godzilla appears and walks towards the water cooler. Yoshi and Yamato look at each other.

YAMATO

Great.

Godzilla gets a paper cup from the dispenser and fills it with water.

GODZILLA

What where you talking about?

The two men look at each other then walk away.

YOSHI

Nothing that would interest you Godzilla.

Godzilla looks at them walk away.

INT. OFFICES OF SUN INSURANCE SECONDS LATER

In a area of the office is the copying machine. Godzilla stands over it and looks down at the device. He hits a button on it yet nothing happens. He hits the button then looks at the machine.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

A problem that men often grapple with is how anger can get the best of you.

Then the machine spews ink and splatters Godzilla's white shirt. He frowns then the plates on his back begin to glow and he bellows blue flame from his mouth and destroys the machine. It explodes then is nothing but a pile of smoking wreckage. Everyone in the office is looking at Godzilla. He looks at them when the sprinklers in the ceiling go off and waters falls on the entire office. Everyone is frowning at Godzilla. Godzilla lowers his head.

EXT. outside Mr. Takeda's office later

A shot of the door to Mr. Takeda's office. His voice can be heard from the other side.

MR. TAKEDA

You again displease me you radioactive monstrosity. The damages will come out of your salary. Now get out and go home. Because of you work is letting out early. I would fire you, but someone needs to keep and eye on you. Now leave.

The door opens and Godzilla walks out and closes the door behind him. He stands in front of the door and looks at the ground.

Once, no one could best me. I was invincible. Now, I must endure what I guess I deserve for all I have done.

Godzilla then walks away.

In a region of the city near Tokyo bay is a bar amongst towers and shops; the sun sets behind the city. Over the door is a neon sign which reads Kimura's Bar. People walk past.

Like many nights, I seek the comfort of the company of old friends.

INT. Kimura's bar seconds later

A shot of a grizzled man, Kimura, standing behind a bar. Behind him is shelves with liquor in them and a rack of glasses. Kimura has on a apron then sighs.

kimura

When I opened this bar, I was expecting a refined clientele. Instead I have this.

A view of the other side of the bar. There are several tables which two monsters sit at. At one table is Rodan, a reptilian pterodactyl with wings and a sharp beak and wearing a t-shirt and shorts. A several beers is on the table in front of him, Rodan uses his beak to puncture one of the the beer cans then lifts it with his beak and drinks. Sitting at another table is Gigan, a monster with a beak also but with a single red eye, hoods for hands and a buzz saw in his chest; he wears overalls. He seems to try to lift a glass of wine with one of his hooks but the glass falls over. Gigan looks at the ceiling.

gigan

Why do I have hooks for hands? And what am I anyways?

Rodan drops his beer.

rodan

I don't even have hooks yet it does not hold me back Gigan.

A shot of Kimura behind the bar again.

KIMURA

Now I run a bar for monsters. I would ask them to leave but they are the only customers I have.

Then the door to the bar opens and Godzilla walks in. Rodan and Gigan look at him.

rodan

Big G. Right on time.

Godzilla looks at Rodan and the scene freezes on the monster.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Rodan, my oldest ally and closest friend. A friend you drinks far to much yet I say nothing.

Godzilla walks to the bar.

GODZILLA

A beer please.

Kimura hands Godzilla a beer and he walks to the table and sits with Rodan. Rodan then uses his beak to puncture another beer can and drinks from it. Godzilla puts his beer on the table.

GODZILLA

I think again you will outpace me when it comes to drinking.

Godzilla is looking at the floor. Rodan throws away his beer and looks at him.

RODAN

Another bad day at work G?

Godzilla nods.

GODZILLA

My temper got the best of me again. My manager gave me another lecture.

RODAN

I can't believe Big G, king of the monsters, is afraid of his boss.

GODZILLA

I do not fear him. I fear having to find another job.

Godzilla opens his beer and drinks from it.

GODZILLA

I need this job Rodan.

RODAN

I are close because we both are dinosaurs so I think I will cheer you up.

GODZILLA

What are you talking about?

RODAN

I ran into Mothera yesterday.

The scene freezes on Godzilla as he looks at the camera.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Anytime I hear her name my heart slows down and I can feel it beating in my chest.

The scene resumes moving.

GODZILLA

How is she doing?

RODAN

She works in the human resources at some office in Tokyo, helping people with work related problems.

GODZILLA

She always was a sensitive type.

RODAN

She asked about you?

GODZILLA

What did you say?

RODAN

I lied and said you where doing well. I could not let her know that the king of the monsters is afraid of his boss and taking disrespect from everyone in Tokyo.

GODZILLA

I hope she is doing well.

RODAN

G, some advice. Never let her know how you feel about her.

GODZILLA

She is just an old friend.

RODAN

You are not a good liar. It is just that everyone knows that a relationship between a radioactive lizard and a butterfly would never work out.

GODZILLA

Of course.

RODAN

I know that love for types like us is not a good thing. I had a mate once, I and she spread fear and chaos across Japan.

Rodan then uses his beak to open another beer, he drinks from it then throws it away.

RODAN

The army exploded a volcano to destroy us. I watched her being consumed by flames. I could not live without her so I flung myself in the molten rock.

The scene freezes on Godzilla looking at Rodan.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Rodan often speaks of this memory, yet he never remembers telling me. Drinking is how he copes with loss.

Then the scene resumes moving.

RODAN

I lived, she did not.

GODZILLA

You have my sympathy Rodan.

RODAN

I'll be fine.

Godzilla watches Rodan drink another beer.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I come here some nights to be amongst others like me, all you call be Big G; toughest of them all.

Godzilla looks down at his beer.

But I'm not big anymore, now I'm mostly like everyone else. Small.

Godzilla then drinks from his beer.

MINIRA

I hope that is true.

An atomic explosion changed me into something that all feared.

Black and white footage of Godzilla rampaging trough Tokyo. The city is in flames and he destroys buildings.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I would always come to Tokyo. I was not smart enough to know why at the time. I destroyed the city many times, though I on a few occasions I saved it from threats other then myself.

Army tanks and jet fighters attacking Godzilla.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

The army, which could never beat me; finally did something worst then beat me. They made me like everyone else.

Before we get down to business, we would like to hear your side of the story.

Godzilla looks at him.

GODZILLA

What is going on?

Godzilla looks down at himself.

GODZILLA

I can talk.

GENERAL SASAKI

We have increased you intellect so you no longer have the brain the size of a walnut.

GODZILLA

Why?

GENERAL SASAKI

We could destroy you, but we will be fare. We will forget everything you have done and let you live in Tokyo. You will get a job and repay the damages you have caused.

GODZILLA

A job?

GENERAL SASAKI

If you ever get out of line though, we will destroy you. Am I understood?

Godzilla waits a moment then nods.

GENERAL SASAKI

Now you are the one who should be afraid.

Godzilla looks at him as the scene dissolves.

INT. GODZILLA'S BEDROOM SECONDS LATER

Godzilla lays in his bed.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

That was seven years ago. Once I was big, and no one was tougher then I. I feared nothing.

Godzilla opens his eyes and looks at the window.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Now I fear what my life has become. I fear what tomorrow and the next day will bring. In my heart, I yearn to be big again.

Godzilla then closes his eyes.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Godzilla then begins to write then stops.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

People would lose what little respect they have left for me if they knew I was giving in to be sentimental.

Godzilla writes again.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Just a very meaningful poem I am writing for someone, who I will never show.

Godzilla stops then looks towards the horizon.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Seven years and all I have is seven sentences.

Godzilla looks down and writes again.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

If she was to see this poem, I would hope that it did not offend her.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

Once I towered over everyone, feared nothing.

Godzilla reaches the top of the hill then sits. Beyond the hill is Tokyo, night is falling over the city as the lights of the metropolis blaze out in the growing darkness of the approaching night.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

When you live in Tokyo, sometimes you fail to appreciate how beautiful it is.

Godzilla looks at the lights.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

When I was big, that was why I always came to this city. The lights drew me here.

Godzilla sighs.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I always come to this hill to think. Mostly about the past.

Godzilla just continues to look at the city.

EXT. minira's home night

My son has many friends in Tokyo. Everyone seems to like him.

Godzilla then knocks at waits. After a few moments the door opens and Minira, wearing a t-shirt and slacks, stands in the doorway.

MINIRA

Father.

GODZILLA

If I caught you at a bad time I will return later.

Minira looks behind him then back at Godzilla.

MINIRA

I was entertaining some friends.

Godzilla nods and turns to leave.

MINIRA

But time with my father is a little more important.

Minira walks out the door and walks up to Godzilla. Godzilla turns back to him and they both nod.

MINIRA

What is the reason you wish to speak with me?

Godzilla and Minira then walk towards the garden and look at the fish swimming lazily in the coy pond.

GODZILLA

I was reflecting on the past.

MINIRA

What about?

Godzilla looks at him.

GODZILLA

Was I a bad father?

MINIRA

What do you mean?

GODZILLA

Sometimes I think I was a little tough on you.

MINIRA

Only because you where trying to teach me to stand up for myself. You wanted me to be like you.

GODZILLA

It is not easy being a father sometimes.

MINIRA

Sometimes it is not easy being son either.

GODZILLA

Everyone likes you, aside from Rodan I have few friends.

MINIRA

I know. People will never forget the past. But if they could know the truth, that you have changed.

GODZILLA

Have I?

MINIRA

Yes. I know you do not see me as much as you would like because you fear your reputation would damage my career.

GODZILLA

Sometimes a father has to put their children welfare above their own.

Minira looks at him and smiles.

MINIRA

I know what might cheer you up.

You should ask why I am not in my office.

Godzilla looks at him.

MR. TAKEDA

I wanted to tell you that you have always been on precarious ground, but one more incident like Friday or your failure to show up to work on time, well then, I fire you.

GODZILLA

I am at work. Now is not the time to renew our feud King Gidora.

KING GIDORA'S THIRD HEAD

We are employed.

The first head looks at the other two.

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

Perhaps we should listen. It might pay better here.

All three heads look at Mr. Takeda.

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

What is this job?

Mr. Takeda leans forwards and whispers.

GODZILLA

Use your own.

KING GIDORA'S SECOND HEAD

Maybe I should tell Mr. Takeda how you are unhelpful.

Godzilla sighs. He stops typing then takes a pen from the cup on his desk full of pens and pencils. He lifts the pen and Gidora's second clasps onto it with his mouth and lowers it head behind the wall. Godzilla continues to type when the third head pops up over the wall to the cubicle.

KING GIDORA'S SECOND HEAD

That was for the second head. I need a pen to.

Godzilla stops typing and looks away.

KING GIDORA'S THIRD HEAD

Mr. Takeda's office is just a short walk from here.

Godzilla then takes another pen from the cup and lifts it up. The third head clasps onto it with its mouth and vanishes behind the wall. Godzilla resumes typing. Then the first head appears over the wall and looks at Godzilla. Godzilla looks at the computer screen as he types.

GODZILLA

Let me guess, you need a pen to.

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

GODZILLA

Then what is it?

The head waits a moment then speaks.

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

I need a pencil.

GODZILLA

I am not sure what you mean.

YOSHI

Godzilla types on his keyboard and does not look at him.

GODZILLA

You should be working. And why should I thank you.

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

I told everyone in the office about your little dance.

Godzilla looks at him.

GODZILLA

What dance?

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

After we fought on Planet X, I saw that little dance you did.

GODZILLA

That did not happen.

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

I saw you. Now everyone in the office knows that big bad Godzilla likes to do his silly little dance when he is happy.

GODZILLA

Why did you do that?

KING GIDORA'S FIRST HEAD

I needed something to talk about at the water cooler.

Then Gidora's head lowers behind the wall of the cubicle. Godzilla looks to the entrance of his office and sees Yoshi walk by. Yoshi stops and looks at him then does the dance. Then he walks on. Godzilla takes off his glasses and squeezes the bridge of his nose.

Megalon looks at a beer on the table then looks at his drills.

megalon

I think I'm a bug, but can someone explain to me why I have drills for hands?

Rodan throws away a beer.

rodan

I get by with just a beak.

Godzilla walks into the bar and Rodan and Megalon look at him.

RODAN

Big G. Usually you don't come to the bar till Friday.

Godzilla walks to the bar and looks at Kimura.

GODZILLA

Give me the strongest drink you have.

Kimura nods and begins to prepare the drink. Godzilla looks on. Rodan speaks up.

RODAN

Must have been a bad day, you only get really drunk on a bad day.

Rodan drinks another beer. Kimura finishes the drink and places it on the bar. Godzilla takes it and walks towards Rodan and sits at the table.

RODAN

So, what happened today?

GODZILLA

Remember Gidora.

Rodan nods.

RODAN

Of course, me and you fought him together several times.

GODZILLA

He has chosen to resume our feud.

RODAN

Why we all call you Big G at the bar. Us monsters all fear Gidora, but you, I bet you defeated him again.

GODZILLA

I deadliest adversary has a new ally.

RODAN

Who?

GODZILLA

My boss. He now works in the next cubicle.

Godzilla drinks.

GODZILLA

Now I am a joke at work.

Rodan uses his beak to puncture another beer and drinks from it. He throws away the can.

RODAN

Things where much easier when all we had to worry about was the army and other monsters.

Godzilla looks at him.

GODZILLA

If you could be big again, would you want to?

Rodan looks at him.

RODAN

We can't go back. We are small, like everyone else in Tokyo. Of course they can't fly our breath fire.

Megalon speaks up.

MEGALON

I can spit bombs.

RODAN

Another empty street in a part of the city where many shops and a few Neon Lights, but it seems empty of people. Several cars are parked on the street. Godzilla, Rodan and Megalon stumble down the street when Rodan stops. Godzilla and Megalon continue to walk on.

rodan

Big G, Megalon; I have an idea.

Godzilla and Megolon stops and look back.

RODAN

How about we have some fun like old times and destroy the city.

MEGALON

Are you serious?

RODAN

Well, not the entire city; but just some senseless property damage.

MEGALON

I'm in.

They both look at Godzilla.

GODZILLA

We will get into trouble.

RODAN

The King of the Monsters is worried about getting in trouble. I thought you where tougher then anybody.

Godzilla frowns then turns to a car. The spines on his back begin to glow and he bellows blue flames from his mouth which hits the car. The car then explodes and is thrown up into the air and comes crashing down. Godzilla then looks at Rodan.

GODZILLA

OK, that felt a little good.

Rodan then flaps his wings and flies up into the air, he then hovers above the street and quickly flaps his wings which creates a strong wind. All the cars on the street begin to slide across the street then one flips over. Megalon then spits and red ball from his bug like mouth and it hits the overturned then explodes. Megalon looks at Godzilla.

MEGALON

Do bugs spit bombs G?

Then there is the sound of police sirens in the distance. Godzilla, Megalon and Rodan look at each other.

RODAN

Run!

Rodan flies up into sky and Godzilla and Megalon run off in two different directions.

INT. GODZILLA'S BEDROOM LATER

Later in the night. Godzilla's bedroom is still when Godzilla, still in his work clothes, enters and walks towards the bed. He falls into it and falls asleep.

INT. GODZILLA'S BEDROOM morning

Godzilla is in the bed and snoring loudly. Then the alarm clock goes off and he wakes up. Godzilla sits up in the bed then holds a hand to his head as if in pain.

YOSHI

Can believe we have someone new in the human resources department.

Godzilla looks at them.

yamato

I hear she is very good with helping people cope with work related problems.

Godzilla looks at them.

YOSHI

Why did Mr. Takeda hire another monster?

The scene freezes on Godzilla.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I can feel my heart my chest beat and slow. I did not fear much, but finding the courage to speak to her was not easy.

INT. outside Mothera's office later

Godzilla stands at a door somewhere else in the building. Godzilla just looks at the door and seems unable to knock.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I wanted to see her. But I also wanted her to remember who I once was, and not see this beaten down man I have become.

He knocks and a woman's voice comes from the other side of the door.

mothera

Please come in.

Godzilla lowers his head.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I had no idea what to say to her.

He then opens the door and walks into the office.

INT. mothera's office seconds later

The scene is set on the door as Godzilla walks through it with his head lowered and closes the door behind him. He then looks at the camera and the scene freezes on him.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

She was more beautiful then I remembered.

To the other side of the office is a large window that overlooks Tokyo bay. There is a desk behind it which sits Mothera, and chair to the other side of the desk. Mothera now is more anthropomorphic. She looks like a woman in a suit and skirt, but has fur covered legs and arms with small hands. Two colorful wings sprout from her back. She has a woman like face with yellow fur, but with two antenna and long dark hair. She looks at Godzilla and smiles.

MOTHERA

Godzilla.

Godzilla bows his head.

GODZILLA

It is good to see you again Mothera.

MOTHERA

Please have a seat.

Godzilla waits a moment then sits in front of the desk.

MOTHERA

What do you need help with?

Godzilla looks at her silently for a moment then speaks.

GODZILLA

I hope I do not offend you, but why do you look like that? You seemed much different then last time we met.

MOTHERA

Like a young butterfly, after spinning a cocoon I took my new form. The last one I had was not suitable for my new life.

GODZILLA

You look very well Mothera.

Mothera looks at him.

mothera

I never would have believed that at heart, Godzilla was a gentleman.

Godzilla looks away.

GODZILLA

I have changed much.

Mothera looks at him.

MOTHERA

Why are you unhappy?

Godzilla looks at her.

GODZILLA

Why do you believe I'm unhappy?

MOTHERA

I help people with problems, so you learn to be aware of such things. May I ask why?

Godzilla looks at her and the scene freezes on him.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

What she did not know that was her company made be the happiest I had been in seven years.

Godzilla looks at the ground.

GODZILLA

I am the most hated man in Tokyo.

MOTHERA

I know. People still remember who you used to be before you changed. I cannot believe no one has told you that all of us former giants are in your debt.

GODZILLA

Why do you say that?

MOTHERA

Because all anyone remembers is Godzilla. You took all the blame for all the destruction we caused.

Godzilla looks at her.

GODZILLA

You where different from rest of us. You only did such things when the two fairies where in danger.

MOTHERA

Apparently Godzilla is very kind as well.

GODZILLA

No, just honest.

MOTHERA

How is your son?

He looks at her for a moment.

GODZILLA

Why do you ask?

MOTHERA

That was why you where always my favorite among us monsters, because even when Godzilla was fearsome; even a fool could see that he wanted to be a good father.

GODZILLA

He is doing very. Though I do not see him as much as I would like. He has a career in the public eye and I may harm his reputation.

Mothera then smiles.

MOTHERA

Like I said, anyone can see that Godzilla is trying to be a good father to his son.

Godzilla stands and the scene freezes on him.

GODZILLA'S NARRATION

I wanted to stay and talk. But I was scared of saying something which would make her loose the approval she had given me.

GODZILLA

It is very good to see you once again Mothera.

She smiles again and makes a soothing humming sound.

MOTHERA

Come to my office anytime.

Godzilla bows his head and leaves the office.

INT. OUTSIDE MOTHERA'S OFFICE LATER

Godzilla walks out the door then closes it. He then smiles.

GODZILLA
