I watched the whole thing on Tuesday the 11th of October. I was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. A lot of dialogue explaining Gojira and what he more or less is. I was freaked out by the ending. Very creepy to say the least. But all in all.. it was..for TOHO anyway.. a true horror film. and I loved it as such. Now I have 2 G films that I look forward to seeing sequels for. Edward's entry was dry script wise.. where as TOHO's was script heavy. Edward's G was cool.. but not enough on screen destruction was on display. Where as TOHO's had destruction plenty. I take back what I said about shin gojira not being a true Godzilla film.. It is a true Godzilla film when likened to the first one.

I never denied the characters in the movie were wrong about Godzilla's origins. I pointed out the irony in fact, it was the fact they were wrong that created the heisei Godzilla.

Well, Durp, that's the reason why they traveled back in time. Exactly 10 years in advance, which was 1944. True, their theory of the dinosaur was Godzilla in the first place was wrong. But, that did not stop them going back that far to try and stop Godzilla from being a known monster or even the history behind it.

This is the main problem with the fan base. Every other fan I know of and have talked to believe he was a dinosaur and just looking at our conversation alone, will tell people differently. Even in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, when they have to kill him before he goes into meltdown, they also state the fact and I quote, "we must kill him the same way we did the first Godzilla (1954), the oxygen destroyer."

I don't see a problem with the logic of going back in time to stop godzilla from being created. The logic was sound in that regard based on the information, the characters had. The explanation isn't exactly sound, but the information is all there to give you the real story in the movie if someone is willing to look.

Hence why I don't view Godzilla vs King Ghidorah as anywhere close to bottom of the barrel in terms of Godzilla movies. It tried a tough idea of time travel and looking into Godzilla's origins. It also is more physical than most of the heisei fights with the monsters displaying a decent amount of movement and one of the best looking godzilla designs. Sure it's basically Godzilla with Terminator logic, but there has been much much worse.

Godzilla vs King Ghidorah was the first Godzilla film I ever saw. It is phenomenal, far better based on tension, action, acting, and drama than Shin-Gojira's lame last half.

Good grief.

............................................too much humilating of Godzilla movies.

It lacks commonsense as I have pointed out severely in my posts Gg.

A lame last half? Maybe. However, it doesn't lack to severely in special effects, commonsense, and humour. And it has main characters. Not a single one of you have even attempted to point out who the main character(s) are in Godzilla vs. King ghidorah 1991. Oh wait, that's right. It doesn't have any.

Also Gg, coming from someone who I know that enjoys the ps4 Godzilla game, the ending is almost identical. Especially and specifically, the freezing part.

And Durp, the basic understanding is the fact that they believed that the dinosaur was indeed Godzilla. Which somehow, someway, teleporting the dinosaur to the year 1991, if this were the true origins, the knowledge, history, or even Godzilla's name, did not disappear the way it should have.

Instead, we get a dinosaur That turns into Godzilla in the same year. Even the one from 84-89 disappeared, but, the memory of Godzilla was still there. How does that make sense at all?

And again, if anything held up strong with this film, ghidorah himself would have taken over and re-written the history of Godzilla with himself. It would have been ghidorah that terrorized the city of Japan ever since 1954. Yet, where was he?

I haven't watched Godzilla vs King Ghidorah for some time but I'm like 90% sure they just moved his location, not sent him through time. Hence the creation of heisei Godzilla, the dinosaur sat in the Berring sea since they transported him in 44 later a Russian sub went down in that area creating heisei Godzilla explaining his origin in 84 when he just rose out of the sea and attacked that ship, hence why it's Biollante's cells that create SpaceGodzilla since all of that did happen, they were the ones that made it happen, since they moved Godzilla here where he could be radiated.

And Ghidorah wouldn't rewrite history since he was under the control of people who probably kept him inactive since it wasn't until 91 that they were there to control him. Ghidorah was only attacking in 91 because they told him too therefore if they never took control of Ghidorah the monster never would have attacked to begin with.

Listen to what you just said. They went back in time to the year 1944 to stop the dinosaur being mutated by the H-bomb in 1954. Meaning the plague of 1954 was still there. They teleport the dinosaur from 1944 to the year 1991 with 84 Godzilla vanishing. The origin of the 84 Godzilla is supposed to be 1954 only 80 meters tall.

Plus, the futurians had no idea they teleported the dinosaur to an area with nuclear waste. "Unlike our age, this era is filled with nuclear waste. So it didn't matter where we teleported the dinosaur to. The unavoidable birth of Godzilla could not be ignored."

In other words, Godzilla 54 apparently did not die. That's why the Russian sub went down. The fact is, when the teleport back to the year 1991, Godzilla was still around from 1954. However, again as I pointed out in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, the quote once more, "We must kill him the same way we did the first Godzilla (1954). The oxygen destroyer."

How do they still remember that Godzilla then? The thing is, they tried too hard to explain the original origins of Godzilla from 54 but, all they did was make a new origin for a new Godzilla.

The whole plan of the movie was to go back in time to rid Godzilla from Japan's history. It failed miserably in the film and also in knowledge. As I've pointed out numerous times, they went back in time to finally put an end to the history of Godzilla for good. Meaning everything about Godzilla was to be forgotten and never known of.

Ben they didn't transport the Godzillasaur to 91 they just moved it to the Bering Sea in 44. 84 never vanished that was just when this godzilla woke up again. So it comes full circle.

The 54 Godzilla isn't the same as the heisei one, hence why Godzilla vs Destoroyah has such a large connection to it, and why Biollante became SpaceGodzilla(Biollante wouldn't exist otherwise). As I said the explanation isn't great, but the info is all there within the movie.

Source: just watched the scene from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah.

Uh, no Durp. They said specifically in the film "to teleport the dinosaur back here." meaning the year 1991. Sure, in the berring sea. But, in 1991. Did you not pay attention to what is said in the film?

Yet, you still deny the fact that the knowledge of Godzilla is not gone nor the fact that they had to kill him the same way as the first Godzilla. What is so hard to understand there?

Not to mention, it was only speculated that biollante became spacegodzilla as well as Godzilla's cells on Mothra who as well was in space.

I think one thing is true.. as kids.. we love monster movies.. as we get older.. we still.. love monster movies.. I think we should never set our expectations too high. (I'm guilty of that). Just enjoy the concepts.. along with mindless destruction and turmoil that we appreciate seeing in a Kaiju flick. ala PACIFIC RIM.. now that movie is cool. saw it with wife and daughter. they liked it too.

Ben I don't know how to explain this without a long story.

Thankfully other people have done it for me. So you can read this to get the explanation and why the quote of "he's gone" actually can lie based off who it comes from.

here

As you can see they never moved the dinosaur in time just location.

And I'm telling you this article is wrong. The film itself explains it. Not to mention Ed Godziszewski, author of the illustrated encyclopedia of Godzilla, wrote more information about this film in particular before this website.

You, myself, or others, can not change what is said and done in the films. The answers are right there in the films themselves.

Going back and looking at the article again, Toho never did or did not confirm the Godzilla in 84 to be 54. However, with the title "The return of Godzilla" It's hard not to think that.

These films acknowledge 1954. So, according to the return of Godzilla, it is the 54 Godzilla and it never died. Skip to 1991 And what we have is a movie going back in time to stop the dinosaur from being exposed to the H-bomb and nuclear power. Doing so required going back to the year 1944. Because, it was speculated that the dinosaur would become Godzilla in 1954. The book titled the birth of Godzilla was what the whole theory was as provided in 1991.

So again, as quoted, "We'll teleport the dinosaur back here in this day and age." coming from the year 1991 and for the dinosaur to be put in the Bearing Sea in that same time period, 1991.

The fact that they also don't confirm that the 54 Godzilla was dead until 1995 in Godzilla vs Destoroyah is all the proof you need to show this Godzilla has a new origin.

When they teleport the dinosaur, and then return to the year 1991, the question again was "What can you tell us about Godzilla?" the futurians said, "He's gone."

It's not hard to understand. The whole system was set up to go back in time to get rid of Godzilla from the whole history of Japan. Later on in the film, they had no idea they teleported the dinosaur to an area with nuclear waste. It was Shindo's sub that gave Godzilla the extra power he needed making him twice the size and far more powerful than the original.

It's not until Godzilla vs Destoroyah that they bring up the fact that they had to kill him the same way as the original from 1954.

Therefore, in conclusion, Godzilla in 84 is the same beast from 54. It never died and was 30 meters taller. It was made as a direct sequel ignoring the films from 55-75.

Yes. They created a new origin for Godzilla. Doing so in the year 1991. When the dinosaur was teleported and Godzilla was reported gone by confirmation in the film, the Godzilla in 84 and 89 disappeared. Which again, was created by modern nuclear weapons that same year in 1991. Hence the quote "Godzilla was made with modern nuclear weapons. So it's only natural that he's bigger."

And one more thing. Now that I've actually thought about. Here's two more quotes from the film.

"Godzilla has disappeared. And now king ghidorah has taken his place."

There was never the quote saying they were teleporting him to this day and age. They mentioned they were going to move him off Lagos, then when the teleporting took place M 11 mentioned how moving an animal was difficult but since this one was immobile it would be easier. That quote or nothing similar was said on the version I watched so I can't comment on its integrity.

Godzilla has disappeared Ghidorah as taken his place is once again from the same person that thought Godzilla was dead, that did the whole thing to create Ghidorah, and had other intentions, so once again that was a questionable quote to try to summarize the movie, as fact. The bad guys that have mislead people up till that point are now supposed to be taken seriously? It's likely they themselves didn't know they thought they were changing time when in reality that was always meant to happen. It's the same logic as terminator literally the exact same.

And he took just absorbed more from Shindo's sub that was sent out in that movie. If you notice Godzilla had been active prior to the point of Shido's sub going down.

If you own the DVD or blu-ray by Sony, your version is no different than mine.

You're missing the point entirely here. The futurians plans all along were to go back in time to get rid of the dinosaur that was to be mutated by the H-bomb in 54. The quote once more after they teleport the dinosaur is "We thought teleporting the dinosaur back here would get rid of Godzilla. Unlike our age (coming from 2023ad I believe) this era (1991) is filled with nuclear waste and power. So it didn't matter where we teleported the dinosaur to. The birth of Godzilla was an unavoidable event."

What more do you need?

Also, the majority of the film takes place in the same year It was made. 1991.
