DEADLIEST DUO'S AND TRIO'S IN GODZILLA MOVIES

In the history of Godzilla films and other kaiju movies alike, one reoccurring theme seems to pit a group of monsters against another. Since Michael Dougherty's next film features that kind of alliance between some monsters against another I thought we could talk about the other alliances Godzilla has in the past along with his foes alliances and discuss who is the deadliest! For the sake of this conversation I am omitting the alliance of Monster Island as a whole because honestly... what's more deadlier alliance than that?

Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra(1964)

Godzilla has always fought his own battles, being King he never needed to form an alliance with anything or anyone to overcome his obstacles. That was until King Ghidorah showed up. Towering over Godzilla and being able to fly and shoot gravity beams at his enemies, Godzilla has his met his match. Luckily Mothra was able to unite all 3 monsters together to combat such a beast and at least for the moment thwart Ghidorah. These 3 giants seem to be deadly enough to stop a space demon. Imagine if Mothra was an adult, then this would definitely be the deadliest combination! Lets hope KOTM exploits this in the upcoming film in 2019!

Godzilla and Rodan(1965)

I know its seems silly to bring up these two again soo soon in a debate but why not. Without the aid of Mothra at their side, Godzilla and Rodan prove to be a deadly duo to come across. They still were able to thwart Ghidorah on and off their turf! But alas Ghidorah left both monsters MIA at the end of the battle!

Godzilla and Minilla(1967)

It sounds like a fun company name "Godzilla and Son", but even despite Minilla's size and lack of experience, this father and son duo can be quite deadly. Fighting one Godzilla is hard enough, what about fighting 2?

Godzilla and Anguirus (1972)

Its a good thing Godzilla and Anguirus set aside there differences over time and became the best of friends later in life. They can also be quite fierce duo to combat! Together they were able to do something that no other duo was able to do. Send not only King Ghidorah running but also a Gigan companion. It took a whole island of monsters to kill King Ghidorah, but these 2 ALONE finally sent him running.

Gigan and King Ghidorah(1972)

Up until this point in King Ghidorahs career in planet demolishing, we have never seen him have any assistance in doing what he does best at. Even though Gigan's alliance is like a hired thug relationship, these 2 have quite a great rapport with each other, until one butts heads with the other. They can destroy cities in minutes. They even can hold their own against Monster Islands best fighters.

Gigan and Megalon(1973)

What seems like brothers just bulling the neighborhood kids around, this deadly bond is something you don't want to mess with. Like I mentioned before, King Ghidorah and Gigans alliance is more like a hired hitmen here to execute a planet. Whereas Gigan and Megalon seem like brothers from different mothers helping each other out in an after school brawl against the opposing playground kids. Megalon seems lost with out his older "brother" there to point out what building to smash or monster to kill. Together they seem like a fun bunch to paint the town red.

Godzilla and Jet Jaguar(1973)

This is the first time Godzilla teams up with something that atomic bombs didn't release into the world. Jet Jaguar seems a bit out of the norm for Godzilla to team up with but I guess its something about that strange grin on Jet's face that gives Godzilla the impression to trust him. This unlikely duo was able to team up and stop Gigan and Megalon dead in their tracks of destruction and world domination.

Godzilla and King Ceasar(1974)

Its hard fighting Godzilla, and its difficult fighting a giant robot. But what about a Godzilla Robot!? Mecha-Godzilla is Godzilla's most deadliest foes. Its no wonder he needed some assistance from an ancient monster god who is destined to save the world. The two titans weren't able to stop Mecha-G on their own, but together they were able to stop the mighty King of the robot monsters!

Mechagodzilla and Titanosaurus(1975)

This seems like a polar opposite attraction. One beast from a lost world of dinosaurs paired with the most advanced alien cyborg ever conceived? Why not? It worked for the big G and JJ! Leveling Tokyo in less that 10 minutes and throwing Godzilla around, this deadly duo speaks for themselves.

Mothra and Battra(1992)

Natural born enemies, these 2 tried killing each other when they were kids, then adults, then I guess time has a way of putting the anger and hate away and want to get along. Leave it to Mothra to try and turn any kaiju good by the end of a movie. These 2 stopped an all powerful Godzilla, but at the cost one of there lives in the process.

King Ghidorah, Mothra and Baragon(2001)

This match up seems like something out of a fever dream! Not only is King Ghidorah fighting for the side of saving life, he teams up with Mothra, a sworn enemy! Its a shame we cant see Baragon join in the last battle between all the title characters, it shows a great effort towards team work on Baragons part as one of the Guardian Monsters and earns his place on the mantle. I cant imagine Godzilla having too much trouble with this deadly threesome(don't you dare giggle! what are we, 12? grow up). Even with the combine efforts of both Mothra and Ghidorah, Godzilla still seemed to swat these guys away. Even though this is an amazing alliance, Godzilla still stomped these 3 out like bugs(no pun intended at Mothra's expense).

Mothra and Kiryu(2003)

This alliance is probably the craziest. An ancient God monster moth in an alliance with a giant robot Godzilla? Well maybe not the weirdest, but it shows that Mothra doesn't discriminate. Not the most deadliest of pairs. It took 3 Mothra's to help take this Godzilla down. Not exactly a good record for these 2 different monsters. But in the end they took Godzilla down. At the expense of an adult Mothra.

King Ceasar, Rodan and Anguirus(2004)

This seems like an interesting fight. Godzilla vs.... well all of his friends. All these monsters at one time stood by Godzilla's side to combat other monsters. But the table is turned for this one. But this trio is definitely the weakest. It took Godzilla less than 2 minutes to take this trio down! I guess we all know who carried these monsters through other battles throughout the years.

"Upgraded" Gigan and Monster X(2004)

This duo has a short relationship but can prove to a deady encounter! Even Godzilla had a close call with this partnership! If it wasn't for Mothra's interruption we might be looking a some Godzilla sushi!

So what do you all think is the deadliest duo or trio? What is your opinion on the perfect combination of destruction and power!?

Brah, you forgot the female and male Hokmutos (my name for the two monsters that appeared in Godzilla (2014) until we have official names) that beat the sh*t outta Godzilla together.

Individually, neither could do much of anything to the king. At least the male Hokmuto had flight and nimbleness to help him; the female was outclassed by Godzilla because he was a bigger and tougher brute than she was.

But together? The male kept Godzilla off balance, and the female straight up knocked him down; he was the support, she was the muscle.

Just in terms of favorites it's Godzilla and Rodan, but most deadly might be a toss up. Maybe Godzilla and Moguera duo from Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla.

I see Godzilla and Moguera more of a battle royal between 3 different factions. Godzilla being the Earth monster, Space Godzilla being the space mutant, and then a mecha-unit. They all want the other 2 two other factions dead. No one was on a side of the other. Godzilla and Moguera were not actually on the same side. At least to what Godzilla see's it as. We are not friends just friendemies.

So in my opinion and to the reason why I didn't add that "pair" in this conversation is to say that after Spacegodzilla was dead and if Moguera were still standing Godzilla would have beat it down. Moguera smells of G-Force, Godzilla's number one enemy.

Mechagodzilla and Titanosaurus.

I would put Moguera and Godzilla in the same category as Mothra and Battra, and Godzilla and Rodan from G:T3HM. They'll fight eachother, but also team up when a more potent threat shows up.

Look again please. You'll see them listed just without a picture.

@I'm Durp

I see your point. But the only difference is that Godzilla would have destroyed Moguera after the fight with SpaceG. Godzilla and Rodan didn't after there first bout with KG.

The reason for these groups is that they have an understanding with each other and even save one and other during a fight. Godzilla made no attempt to save Moguera once it was down and out. Godzilla didn't give a shit that the mecha was down. Godzilla didn't have an alliance with G-Force. Hence why I didn't add that fight.

In every alliance Godzilla had with another monster, Godzilla has saved or helped the monster and fought along side the other. In that fight against SG, you never see Godzilla on the same side as Moguera, always on the opposite side of SG.

Godzilla helped Rodan during the fight with KG when Rodan was pinned down and cornered. That is why there alliance stood strong in the second fight with KG a year later.

Godzilla and Minilla? Ahahahahhaha! hahahahaha! HAHAHAHAHAHA! No. Unless if you're talking about Minilla being fully grown then yea sure.

Godzilla Generations was a beautiful game! I loved the fact that there's a laser cannon inside of Dr. Serizawa's eyepatch.

I'd say the deadliest is either Godzilla, Rodan, and Mothra, Gigan and King Ghidorah, or Gigan and Monster X.

I think that it was either Burning Godzilla and Godzilla Jr. or Destroyah's juvenile form (when they split from his final form to attack Burning Godzilla at the airport) in Godzilla vs. Destroyah.
