Natural Instincts

MONARCH stated that the Titans are not just animals, they are forces of nature, intelligent beings. But, while they may be intelligent, every monster has its own instincts, and the legendary Kaiju are no exception.
One of the overlooked factors in G2014 was that both Godzilla and the MUTOS were acting purely through instinct for most of their conflict. The MUTO's instincts once they hatched was to mate, and obviously they followed through. Godzilla's instincts told him the MUTOS were a parasite that needed to be wiped out, and he followed through as well.
I know that in this shot Ghidorah has his wings outstretched to mimic the shot from GtTHM, but we've already seen that the new Ghidorah isn't built like that. He's built more like Smaug, with wings that fold into arms and hands when he is in sitting position. That got me thinking; while the titan team post on this website said that King Ghidorah wants to "Dethrone Godzilla and take his rightful place as ruler of Earth", I think that here Ghidorah is trying to intimidate Godzilla. One of an animal's instincts when a predator threatens them (Even if said threatened animal is a predator too) is to try and make themselves look bigger, in order to scare off the attacker. And in the trailer, we can see Godzilla hesitantly backing up, almost in fear.
That's all I have to say for now. PEACE!
"Now I am become death, the destroyer of worlds."
