Why hello there! It's been a while since I posted one of these, but today we'll be comparing the NECA and Monsterarts figures, and then declaring the overall winner for each Kaiju listed. So without further ado, let's get into our first Kaiju!
Ghidorah: Obviously Monsterarts wins here. NECA refuses to do a Ghidorah figure despite popular demand from the Godzilla community. Ghidorah could have come with more accessories like his gravity beams in order to make the figure a little more worth it, since his price tag is at a whopping $180.
Mothra: Honestly, I'd give NECA the win here. Even though we get Mothra in a bundle for Monsterarts, the paint scheme, articulation, and overall design look amazing on the NECA Mothra, while the Monsterarts version looks way too yellow for my taste. Plus we get a really cool base for the stand for Mothra to make it look like she has just emerged from her Cocoon and had just taken flight for the first time, while Monterarts just gives us a clear base for the stand. I don't know if Monsterarts is doing this, but if you hold up Mothra to a light, her wings actually light up due to the material of her wings, and it just looks beautiful. (Insert Serizawa)
Rodan: I'd actually have to give this one to NECA again. Once again, we get Rodan in a bundle with Mothra for Monsterarts, but the articulation on the NECA Rodan surpasses Monsterarts greatly. On the NECA figure, Rodan has very articulated wings, with them being able to rotate to a great degree (Note: I only own the NECA Mothra figure.) He also has the translucent wings like Mothra. He also comes with a really cool base for the stand, while Monsterarts still gives us a clear, boring base.
Finally, I've saved the best for last.
Godzilla: Monsterarts takes the win here. The articulation on him is extremely unique, with the figure having the ability to crane its neck and look upwards, which creates the perfect opportunity to re-create the "Rebirth" scene. It also comes with the atomic breath accessory, while the NECA Godzilla does not. NECA has better articulation on the figure than their 2014 figure, but they had to release two figures just to include the breath piece. The second NECA figure does look pretty cool though, but with Monsterarts releasing a poster version, his dorsal plates look 10x better than NECA's. He's also fairly cheap for a Monsterarts figure.
And that's it! I was a little pressed for time since I'm back in school, but these are my opinions on the KOTM figures that were released and will be released this year. Let me know your opinions below!

WEEEEEElll... While I agree on most of your statements, I have to say that Neca's atomic blast figure is absolutely amazing
Zwei Wing is the best singing duo. Change my mind.

Gmkgoji I like it too, but the Monsterarts version looks more appealing to me

yes i agree with you but for rodan, the sh monsterat one look more solid and detail, mine got really loose joint on the wings and the colorskin did look better on the prototype :'( but until the release of SHMA rodan, i think this is my best rodan toy
