Godzilla Vs. Kong Prelude: Survival (Fanfiction)

Chapter 1 - Stranded

As Alison Peterson and her MONARCH squad got ready for a scout and report mission, a scientist briefed the squad on what they could possibly be facing on this short scouting mission.  MONARCH had increased security on Skull Island due to new seismic activity following the rise of the Titans.  Alison wasn't paying attention though, as she was thinking of how she lost her teammates on her previous squad during the attacks.  She was only a teenager, but grew up in a family of soldiers.  She trained, and became one of MONARCH's best soldiers.  As the team's aircraft touched down on their scouting area, the squad moved out.  As the group moved along a swamp, tentacles burst out!  As Alison and her comrades opened fire on the squid, a tentacle knocked her aside as she tumbled down a ditch.  Landing in a brush, Alison yelled out "Anyone copy? This Alison Peterson of Titan Squad A, does anyone copy."  No response.  She tries again, but it fails.  Alison thinks to herself "How am I going to get out of this situation?"

Chapter 2 - Survival Of The Fittest

As Alison pondered what she should do, she heard noises.  As she ducked for cover, she saw a dinosaur-like creature roaming around.  As she scanned the creature, the disambiguation read: Titanus Gorasaurinae, AKA Gorosaurus.  As she slipped out of sight from the Titan's view, she realized she needed to figure out how to stay alive as long as she was stranded in the forest.  As she set up camp for the night, she saw a light coming from the brush.  As she was looking for it, she jumped back as a MUTO came out of that light.  As it roared, another roar was heard.  Kong's roar.  As the two Titans battled, Alison used the opportunity to retrace her steps from the squid attack.  As she climbed up the ditch, she was caught off guard by a 6-limbed creature that resembled a lizard human.  As she fell back down, she thought "I need to find a way out of here without causing much attention."

The next day....

Alison woke.  As she remembered her last thoughts before going to sleep, she climbed up a tree with a flare gun and shot off a flare.  She waited.  Almost an hour later, a signal shot off from MONARCH's Skull Island base.  As transports came in to pick Alison up, Alison said "I can't believe it was that easy--"  SLAM!  A tail swung from the bushes and slammed a MONARCH transport into another.  As Alison got into one of the taking off transports, Kong came in to face Gorasaurus, who emerged from the shadows.  Their confrontation had begun.

Chapter 3 - "Kong Bows To No One"

As Kong and Gorasaurus faced off, a pack of Gorasuarine emerged from the shadows.  Kong does not waver.  As the Titan makes quick work of the pack using his bare strength and the environment to aid his battle.  Just when the last of the pack was defeated, Kong looked around for his true opponent.  Suddenly, Gorasaurus came from behind, tripping the mighty beast with it's tail and giving a bite.  As Kong roared in pain, Gorasaurus starts to wrap his tail on Kong's body.  But suddenly, Kong delivers a punch straight into his opponent's jaw and throws him to the side.  As Gorasaurus gets back up and and charges to Kong, the Titan drives a tree through Gor's hide.  As Kong's opponent collapses, Kong lets out a triumphant roar.  The roar is a message, that the King of Skull Island is never to be trifled with.

The End (for now...)

There are no more GvK prelude fanfics planned, but it's been fun writing these! Be ready for the ultimate showdown in Godzilla Vs. Kong, coming to theaters and HBO Max on March 31st as legends will collide...and one will fall.

Wow, this actually gets me more hyped for the movie. Gorosaurus has to be one of my favorite monster species, just because of the awesome designs you can do with them.

There probably won't be a "next one" until after I watch GvK.

I might do an aftermath fanfic centering in the winner, and then part 2 would be MONARCH's aftermath following GvK

I hate to say this but I haven’t. I appreciate original stories better. The closest I have come to writing fan fiction (could be still considered fanfiction) is a personal story I am writing about Goji. I dislike using existing timelines or characters, so I create my own characters, my own Themes and meanings, and my own story. I consider it part of my writing process. Of course it can never stay writing on a page. Naturally I want to draw scenes, then storyboard, then I get carried away and try to animate it. I’m not interested in continuing someone else’s story I want to make my own. Godzilla works for this because his meaning is so versatile. It’s a creative process for me
