this could be the start of a kaiju revoloution and steps away from the fight that has been awaited for over 60 years..........http://t.co/VkRy3zj539

I don't think there'll be a crossover battle, but a new Gamera will be fun to see!

Well it's about time the Gaurdian of the Universe made a come back.
\"SKREEONGK!\" -Godzilla

Apparently there's going to be a big announcment about it this May. No doubt, Daiei/Kadokawa will try to immulate the look and feel of Legendary's Godzilla.
Gamera's 50th anniversary is next year, so this makes sense.
On top of that is rumors of anew Ultraman television series called "Ultraman Victory".
GGojira45 might be right. If the new Godzilla is a hit it could spark some sort of revitalization of tokusatsu in Japan. I'm not holding my breath, exactly, but it'd be nice if audiences had a hunger for it again following Legendary's Godzilla.

I didn't know Gamera was turning 50! NOw I have to go out and by a present for the big guy.
\"SKREEONGK!\" -Godzilla

Wow, that's really awesome. Hopefully it will be even better than the Heisei trilogy.

I never really cared for Gamera, but that is very cool.
FOR SCIENCE OF COURSE!

NO WAY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! :D THIS IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was wondring how long it would take for Kadokawa to jump back on the Gamera bandwagon! A 13th film would be a welcome addition to an ever growing series of updated, rebooted, and original kaiju films/series that we are getting now! Could our favorite genre be heading towards a new Golden Age?!?!?!?! We can only pray!

@GTBetta35
To be fair a new movie hasn't officially been announced yet. It's simply likely, especially since the magazine is owned by Kadokawa. If it is a new movie it will most likely not be from an American production company, but Daiei themselves with traditional effects work.

cool, maybe godzilla will get to try some turtle soup sometime
;)
king of the monsters

^I also think anyone crossing their fingers for a Godzilla/Gamera match-up need to take a deep breath and effectively uncross them with a certain perminance.

How does this equate to Godzilla and Gamera fighting?
And if this new gamera is in the same style as the Hikkaider reboot, expect it to be tokusatsu, not American.
We also don't even know where things are going with this new Godzilla film. For all we know, we could get this one movie, then Toho yoink Godzilla back and start making their own stuff.
Lets not get excited over this just yet.
We had a really good opportunity for a Godzilla vs Gamera film in 2003-2004 and that boat sailed, I don't think it'll be coming back any time soon.

Truthfully, I don't see a Godzilla vs. Gamera film ever happening. Toho would have to be pretty desperate to agree to that. And they're not.
