Destoroyah has no gender.

Destoroyah's gender has been debated. Some say Destoroyah is male, others say it is female due to the triangular torso. But in truth, Destoroyah has no gender. Destoroyah was born when pre-cambrian bacteria was mutated by the Oxygen Destroyer. Last time I checked, bacteria has no gender. So Destoroyah may have a male personality (The shape of a torso doesn't mean someone/thing is female and has nothing to due with gender. That's called sexual profiling (for lack of a better word) and that's just wrong and insensitive), but it is by all terms an asexual.

If you want to get technical, all of the monsters (excluding Megaguirus, Mothra and Biollante) are genderless.

But, giving monsters a gender kind of adds to their personality in my opinion.

desotroyah is genderles because he is no single creature, he is a combination of precambrian bacteria, just like shinomura

I thought Megaguirus was a female because she was the queen, although that doesnt necessarily mean he/she/it is a female

I thought Mothra was a female, she seems like a female to me for some reason

Biollante I think is 25/25/25/25 because she can be a female because of Erika in her. She might be male or female from the male or female plant she originally was.

She might have no gender at all due to too many mixed Genes

She might be a male because of Godzillas male genes

(Sorry I have been referring to Biollante as a she becuase I think it is a female)

Remember that chap, I forget his name, he climbed Everest without any oxygen, came down nearly dead. They asked him, they said, "Why did you go up there to die?" He said, "I didn't, I went up there to live."

She said excluding meaning biollante, megaquirus, and mothra all do have a gender so you were right on calling them females. I guess Ghidorah technically does too since he's King Ghidorah.

I've never seen the Destroyah gender debate on this forum so I wasn't aware is so controversial

It was confirmed a while ago by an interview in some magazine that destroyah is a girl. This is kind of a closed topic, all the special effects guys studied some sort of female crustacean when designing her. Don't believe me, look it up. I believe I first read about it on tohokingdom's forum.

He is 350ft Tall people, those things on his neck ARE gills, and the Brazil photo is part of the final advertising design-- Deal with it.

@Akagi, Destroyah really seems like it could be female.

Plus, the new Godzilla probably had a gender, as it was part of a species.

Technically speaking, Destoroyah is the kaiju incarnation of Legion (demon, not gamera monster). For it is one, yet at the same time it is many

BaragonMember425 XPJul-07-2014 12:35 PM

@Akagi I looked it up on both tohokingdom and google for this supposed interview and found none, so unless you can actually provide a source then I'm afraid there's no proof it's female. Actually in most sources I see it referred to as a "he". Using a female as a design doesn't mean much as in many cases the females in a species are bigger and stronger than the males so to make a more formidable looking opponent it makes sense that a female would be used as a base.

The debate of Destoroyah's gender always makes me think of a particular character from another series who likes to say, "We are many, you are but one."

This is Ermac, as any MK fan who's played the newest one would know. Ermac is established as a male character, but is really a combined force of hundreds, thousands or even millions of souls (never looked much into it).

Destoroyah is made up of Crustaceans, which cannot be bacteria, as bacteria have no exoskeleton, or skeleton to speak of, period. Each of these crusty little bastards has a gender of its own, therefor, Destoroyah is a Hermaphrodite. It mates with itself, to make more of itself.

Make sense?

Deviation is not shameful. Conforming is.

*Edit (as I cannot edit my previous post); When I said "newest one," I was referring to Mortal Kombat (2011), not Mortal Kombat X. I confused myself doing that, so I'd like to not confuse anyone else.
