Monsterverse Destroyah vs. Godzilla theories

The theory / rumors surrounding Destroyah's potential inclusion in Legendary's Monsterverse has been a hot topic of discussion within the fandom for a while now. Rumors suggest Destroyah will be the actual enemy in Godzilla vs. Kong (2020), meaning Godzilla and Kong will need to team up to defeat him. The inclusion of Fire Godzilla in KOTM 2019 also acts as reference to Burning Godzilla from Godzilla vs. Destroyah.

My questions for you are:

1. Do you think the rumors are true and that Destroyah will be introduced?

2. If so, how do you think his origin will be explained?

3. What do you hope he will look like?

2. If they introduce something like the Oxygen Destroyer in this universe than I can see later on introducing a monster that is based off of that.

Haha yes, let's hope Legendary and WB continue the Monsterverse on and renew licenses for a phase 2. Not sure if Toho will bite, though.

Hey man, we still have 2 years to go and 2 movies to be released. Anything can happen at this point and hopefully Toho will see the huge potential of the Monsterverse and extend the contract. We just have to wait and see what happens.

I still haven't found where the contracts are expiring next year. But who knows. As for Destroyah I think it's way to early for something like that. Maybe after we've had a few more movies and some faction thinks that the monsters need to be taken care of permanently or something. But until then it's just to early for Destroyah, in my opinion. Oh and on the rights thing, as long as these movies continue to make boatloads of money I'm sure Toho will continue to let Legendary keep going.

@G.h.(Gman) Ah thank you, I kept wondering where this info was coming from. Either way I'm still sure that as long as the movies make big money Toho will continue to extend the rights if nothing else

In Godzilla rulers of Earth, Destroyah was created by some aliens using Crab DNA. In Godzilla V Destroyah, I'm pretty sure he was some sort of crustacean mutated by the oxygen destroyer. So If Destroyah were to be a giant mutant crab thing, that would make sense to me, since each of the Kaiju seem to be based off of an actual animal or animal genus.

Also, I think that Toho will probably eventually renew Legendary's lisensce, especially since their reboot films are good, but haven't attracted quite the amount of attention the Monsterverse has. I'm not saying the reboots were bad (Although Shin Godzilla was boring AF, complete waste of my time to watch despite how awesome Goji was in that movie) But the Reboots dont exactly have quite as massive a fan base as Legendary's monsterverse.

Yes, but Shin Godzilla made more money in Japan than Godzilla '14 or Skull Island combined in Japan. There's evidence to suggest that Toho would make more money making their own movies to a domestic audience than they would on Legendary's Monsterverse.

That doesn't mean they'll say no to more Legendary/WB Godzilla movies, but if they were to extend the contract, there would probably be new rules put in place so they could produce their own movies at the same time. And I imagine the price tag for Godzilla's license will go up as well.

I will anwser only for first question. He will be not added to Godzilla vs Kong, but he could be in Godzilla III (next Godzilla movie). They give a solid foundations for him in Godzilla II, and yes I talk about oxygen destroyer. If you remember, that's weapon that create Destoroyah in Godzilla vs Destoroyah. In my opinion its really likely but its just a theory. Very likely theory...
