This is where I'll be posting any new kaiju-related artwork I do, and to start it off I'll put the pieces I did for #KaijuMonsterMarch. I started halfway through, so it's not a full month of stuff, but I'm pretty proud of it. I only allowed myself to work on the art until midnight of the day it was for, so when the quality drops from one piece to another, it's because I started too late. :P I also wanted to stick to more obscure monsters, so you'll probably have to look some of these up. Enough chitchat, on to the art!
Day 1: Batragon (There was supposed to be a city skyline, but I ran out of time)
Day 5: Gappa
Day6: Firebird(slight redesign)
Day 8: King Godzilla(misinterpreted the destruction of Biollante's head as its acid sap attack. Oops)
Day 9: Anguirus(from Monster Warrior Godzilla)
Day 10: Shockirus(Technically a kaiju, sue me)
Day 11: Chameleon
Day 12: Gojirin
Day 13: "Skeleturtle"(heavy redesign, could use some tweaks)
Day 14: Spider Uros
Day 15: Gravity Goliath
Day 16: Stone Guardian
Day 17(Final day): Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra 2019(This was before we had any official heights and only the figures to go off, so not the most accurate. :P)
There's a couple days missing, but that's intentional because this is long enough as it is. Critique is appreciated, it's been a while since I drew these so I can take it. :P Enjoy all!

BaragonMember251 XPNov-22-2019 12:00 PMThanks everyone! It's probably the most tired piece of advice out there, but the key to drawing really is practice. I've been doodling and sketching for over a decade now, bouncing between plateauing and improving all the while. This was a project I really wanted to push myself with, trying things I hadn't before and putting more effort in than usual. Practice sounds boring, but honestly it's just doing what you enjoy a lot and honing your skills in areas you're weak. Can't draw faces or vehicles for beans? Look up some tutorials, grab some references, and just experiment for a while. You'll never get good if you don't try stuff, so go wild! You don't make any bad drawings, just the stepping stones to better ones.

TitanosaurusMember616 XPNov-22-2019 1:11 PMWell, as long as we're showing off our art; this was a Godzilla redesign I did way back before 2014 came out. I kind of wanted to find a balance between more recent theropod reconstructions and his traditional upright stance.
I based the coloration off of a Jurassic Park III Velociraptor toy, in an effort to give him something a little more vibrant than the typical charcoal gray/black. I also had an idea that as he charges up his heat ray, the quills on his arms would glow blue as well.

@JurassicKaiju14: Huh, neat redesign. Personally I think I would have gone with a shorter snout, something like Ceratosaurus or Carnotaurus, but that's just me. Something about the legs really bugs me, I think either the shin is too long or the femur isn't long enough, it just looks awkward. I do like the idea of the color pattern though, that should be integrated into the movies someday, maybe something like young Godzilla have patterns that fade out with age or something.

BaragonMember251 XPDec-02-2019 6:00 PMGmkgoji: I thought so, I just didn't want to step on any toes if it was an original kaiju. I know my first kaiju was literally "badly drawn Godzilla with different spikes," so I know how small changes can amount to brand-new monster. :P

Yeah, it's Spacegodzilla. I get what you mean by small things can change a monster completely. Also, though I normally draw kaiju, i've been trying my hand at um...anime girls.
