[b]Titanosaurus[/b] versus [b]Rodan[/b], both monsters from the classic [i]Godzilla[/i] films. If these two Kaiju were to face each other, who do you think would come out victorious and why?

I myself am a huge fan of [b]Titanosaurus[/b], but Rodan has the advantage of flight. It's a tough call, who do you think would win? Post your debate below!

AdminSpaceGodzillaFeb-03-2013 1:59 PMI think Rodan would definitely have the speed advantage, but Titanosaurus is by far tougher. I think Rodan would have a hard time taking him down. Not to mention, Titanosaurus could conjure up some crazy wind action and make it difficult for Rodan to stay airborne. With a ground match, I'd have to give it to Titanosaurus.

AdminSpaceGodzillaFeb-04-2013 1:36 PMI'm still unsure, it's a tough call. I think in the end, Titanosaurus would win the fight. He's bigger, tougher and has that ability to create huge gusts of winds which would make flying impossible for Rodan.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-21-2013 7:12 AMRodan has the flight, strength and the sonic boom. Titanosaurus has not only his strength, the gusts, his toughness, but also can stay underwater as well. But even though Titanosaurus does have these abilities, Rodan is tougher than some of the people have given him credit for. Also he could probably conjure something from the sky, such as make avalanches, etc. from very far up. But, if Rodan were to try to fight low or on land, Titanosaurus does have his wind and enough strength to capture Rodan from the sky at least temporarily. And, if the battle were by any form of water, Titanosaurus could use that to his advantage.

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-25-2013 4:12 PMI'm a huge Rodan fan, stemming back from the original, so I'm a touch biased here, but I think as long as he could employ a stick-and-move strategy, he'd be ok. I just think Titanosaurus' edge in strength and toughness would give him enough time to eventually get in a couple lucky shots and carry the day. Of course, since lately Rodan and Godzilla have been palling around, that might not be a great idea...The Big G may come callin'...

MemberMothra LarvaeMay-17-2014 8:19 PMI don't see how Titanosaurus could make Rodan commit to a fight or finish him off. Or even really hurt Rodan if Rodan didn't want to be hurt.
Rodan's advantage of flight COMBINED with the fact that Titanosaurus is a short ranged/melee fighter means that the only battle they fight is a battle Rodan has picked on Rodan's terms. I know Titanosaurus technically has that windstorm ability, but it never struck me as that long range. It seems to only affect buildings/creatures in close proximity, similar to Mothra's windstorm.
That being said (unless we are talking about Fire Rodan), Rodan doesn't have any real way to hurt Titanosaurus either. Rodan is strictly melee, and Rodan would not want to close distance, because if he did, he'd sacrifice any advatange he had.
My guess is, Rodan would get a few nuisance swooping strikes in before Titanosaurus would figure out the drill, and then neither would engage...it being a draw.
Now if you're gonna FORCE these two guys to ACTUALLY fight....Titanosaurs would kick the ever living crap out of Rodan, being way more formidable in the melee combat the two would engage in.
***Edit*** If we're talking about Fire Rodan....Rodan wins the game of patience. He could just kite and shoot Titanosaurus at leisure, and there's not much Titanosaurus could do about it other than get killed or retreat to the sea (assuming the sea was only a short distance away)
