True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 11:30 AMAfter my mistake of a 779' Godzilla, I wanted to re-size Godzilla to the real (or very close to it) size. To recap, Edwards wanted our Godzilla to be (in terms of size vs Japanese Gojira) to be like the difference between the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building heights.
Doing some calculations I got a height of 456' (139 meters). Considering San Francisco has 400-600+ foot tall skyscrapers a height of 456' is tall enough to tower over its previous forms (at best Japanese Gojira in the official stories/movies was 328' [100 meters]) and yet be able to hide if needed.
I tried to draw my own side view of the American Godzilla using any official image, and those non-assembled 'toy' that was believed to be a prototype, but nothing I was drawing was coming out "good quality". I decided to stick with the 75" view American Godzilla that was part of the "Light & Sound" toy to use once again. I feel this size is more accurate and closer to the real size. If you watch the paratrooper, in the trailer, he gets RIGHT NEXT to the neck of the American Godzilla. Just this compred to the wallpaper below, this size seems to be very close.
To that end, I modified my original wallpaper. Please COPY LINK to a new location to see its full size. I hope this makes up for my mistaken 779' size wallpaper (as it was still on my mind since I posted that).

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 12:59 PMThat seems like a good description. He is the biggest yet, but not too big either. If he had been all the way up too 700 i would have been kinda annoyed, thats just too much.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 1:03 PMThank you, I'm glad you appreciate my corrected version! Even with the American Godzilla at a more realistic size, it still looks like the Japanese Gojira (even the Final Wars version) couldn't win in a fight.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 1:16 PMThe bottom line is, regardless of what your so called "calculations" say, no one knows the height of Godzilla. But i will choose to believe what my eyes tell me from the trailer. And that's all i need to believe.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 1:21 PMI'm not entirely sure what to believe. The director DID state that this Godzilla was the tallest, but only just barely. However, the trailer DID show him standing a little shorter than the Bank of America building in San Fran, which would make him significantly larger.
Guess we'll find out!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 1:47 PMTrueAmericanGodzilla, I'm not dissing on 2014 Godzilla, but size does NOT matter in a fight, Biollante was way taller than Gojira, but he still won, and Final Wars Gojira sniped a comet out of the sky, so until we see the movie, we do not know how strong 2014 Godzilla will be.
FOR SCIENCE OF COURSE!

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-18-2013 1:59 PMYea I agree with @ CoolGodzilla1234 that we don't know what the 2014 Godzilla can do so we don't know if he's stronger than the 2004 Godzilla but I hope he is the strongest Godzilla as of now.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-20-2013 1:02 AMActually I think everyone is forgetting something, Heisei Godzilla was NOT the tallest incarnation of Godzilla, the tallest one was, and I know I'm gonna get crap for this, the Marvel Godzilla who stood at a whooping 150 meters, or 498 feet, as in comic it was compared in size to the Space Needle, Hoover Dam and the Golden Gate Bridge, though the marvel website states otherwise for reasons unknown, though I don't trust it as they say hulk can only lift 90 tons when calm.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-09-2014 7:46 PMOne problem in the bottom of the picture "Zilla belongs to TRISTAR/Toho" - TriStar doesn't own Zilla anymore, they only own the movie, so only Toho owns Zilla now.

MemberMothra LarvaeJan-09-2014 7:56 PM@EMANNUELLE I actually love the Marvel Godzilla, it's one of my many favorite Godzilla design. In fact, that's the same design being used for the official trademark icon.
