Continuing Mondo's set of Godzilla and kaiju vinyl soundtrack releases comes the highly acclaimed Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) by Akira Ifukube. Nominated for a Japanese Academy Award for Best Music in 1993, Godzilla vs. Mothra was the highest grossing domestic film of the year. (#2 overall, only bested by Jurassic Park at the box office.) The second Heisei series score by the late, great Akira Ifukube was praised for its sweeping, melodic pieces and re-imagining of Mothra's themes.
The score is pressed on "Battra Beam" and "Mothra Silk" 140 gram vinyl. Only 2000 copies will be produced. It goes on sale tomorrow at 1:00PM EST. You can purchase the item at Mondo's Online Store.
