The Godzilla vs. Kong trailer gave us a ton of footage to mull over while we await the film's release date this March. One particular scene has sparked quite the crazy and unbelievable fan theory...
At the point in the trailer when Kong enters a cave on what we believe to be a remote island potentially housing his Axe weapon, we can see a flying, unidentified craft approaching Kong's location in the background. As the image for this article hilariously suggests - fans are jumping to the conclusion that this airborne craft is none other than Gamera - another iconic film Kaiju from Japan. Despite common sense suggesting this is not actually what the flying craft is, the trailing blue flames do seem rather unconventional for any Monarch vehicle and ironically, the shape of the vessel does resemble the body lines of Gamera.
For reference, here is the scene we're talking about:

And here is the craft, zoomed in:

And this is Gamera flying:

As you can see, the shape of the UFO in the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer does resemble the shape Gamera takes when flying, but there's no way Toho would allow Gamera (not a Toho owned property) into a Godzilla movie... Would they?
Let's not forget that back in 2019 it was revealed in the official Art Book for Legendary and Warner Brothers' Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters, that the creative team behind KOTM had penned up artwork for other Toho monsters and a bizarrely familiar giant Turtle Kaiju, fans quickly dubbed Monsterverse Gamera:

The similarities seem to be merely coincidental at the moment, with little to no other evidence supporting the likelihood of Gamera being introduced into the Monsterverse. Despite the very rare and unlikely probability, we remain curious about what this UFO actually is. Our other theories suggest it is a new, advanced Monarch vehicle or legitimate Aliens...
Aliens are no stranger to Godzilla movies and even in King of the Monsters it was established that Ghidorah was an Alien Titan which crashed on Earth. Aliens have been the cause of numerous other Monsters having been introduced into Godzilla lore, Gigan being one of them and once again, ironically one of the Monsters teased in the KOTM art book:

Will Godzilla vs. Kong introduce Aliens to the Monsterverse?
We now speculate that Godzilla vs. Kong may conclude with a hint that the next possible exploration of the Monsterverse include threats from beyond Earth itself. Will we ever get to see Gigan on the big screen? So many questions and no answers so far. As exciting as a potential Alien angle is for the Monsterverse, we are 99.9% certain, the UFO in the Godzilla vs. Kong trailer is NOT Gamera, unfortunately. It's more than likely the Hollow Earth Anti-Gravity Vehicle Monarch have developed to traverse the Hollow Earth, but believing in Aliens and Gamera is way more fun.
