Godzilla movies are extraordinary, pitting the world's most fearsome beasts against one another in titanic battles for the ages. On May 14, 2014, Warner Brothers Studios released Godzilla to rapturous applause. With a mega-budget of $160 million, this PG-13 film, with a 2 hr 3 min run time, racked up a sensational $524,978,362 across 56 markets. This monstrous creature is renowned worldwide, from the days of black-and-white movies to modern-day CGI marvels.
The original Godzilla was created by Honda Ishiro in 1954, with special effects by Tsuburaya Eiji. Contrary to popular opinion, the film was born out of legitimate fear, that is, the after-effects of nuclear radiation on sea creatures, wildlife, and people. In the wake of the catastrophic atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Japanese let their imagination get the better of them with a mega monster – Gojira. Most folks are unaware that Godzilla was played by Nakajima Haru. His Godzilla costume was 200 pounds, a far cry from the megaton monster we now know on the big screen.
But how strong is Godzilla compared to other mythical creatures like the inimitable King Kong? It's a question that sci-fi fans and monster pros routinely debate, with no real clarity either way. To an outsider looking in, Godzilla appears to have the upper hand. With years of powerful radiation igniting in his armored spikes and exploding out of his mouth, nothing seems to withstand such intense radiation – not even King Kong. But if the mighty Kong were forced to fight Godzilla, it's possible that he could land crushing blows while the radiation inferno is building up inside Godzilla.
What is King Kong Fashioned From?
Before we get into the nuts and bolts, you might want to familiarize yourself with gorillas. These powerful apes are not to be toyed with. Fortunately, King Kong is fictional, and gorilla likenesses are readily available to fans in social games. Feel free to read fellow film fans' assessments regarding the strength of gorillas like Kong, or be the beast and sample the games listed below at your convenience.
There are plenty of social games like Mighty Gorilla, Gorilla Mayhem, and even Gorilla from the social gaming giant PlayFame. This pulse-pounding platform gives ardent fans an up close and personal perspective of what it may be like to be in the orbit of an incredibly mighty gorilla. Of course, these larger-than-life creatures are not King Kong, but they are part of the same species. And these games are free to play, with absolutely no money down. All of these virtual creatures are happy to chomp on gold coins – a far cry from actual creatures who can never be tamed.
Would you believe that King Kong is actually older than Godzilla? It's true, folks! This gargantuan prehistoric ape first appeared on screen in 1933. That was the same year that the politics of Europe took a turn for the worse. King Kong has a gorilla-like in appearance, and he is immensely powerful. Based on size alone, this alpha Titan bows down to nobody and serves no master. Ostensibly, he hails from Titanus Kong, the Kong species of apes. These apes inhabit Skull Island across the Pacific Ocean.
