It appears that there will not be a new Godzilla vs. Kong Trailer attached to the Inception re-release that is scheduled to come out next month.

Warner Bros. recently announced that several of their upcoming films would have new teasers/trailers play before the Inception 10th anniversary re-release. However, we now know exactly which films from Warner Bros.' upcoming slate will be receiving new trailers thanks to a new report.

The extra content that will be played before the film will include a 4-5 minute extended Tenet trailer, new trailers for Wonder Woman 1984 and Dune, and a special introduction from director Christopher Nolan. While this is an exciting list of new content, there is unfortunately no mention of Godzilla vs. Kong anywhere in the report.

When will the first trailer for the newest entry in the Monsterverse arrive? Perhaps only time will tell. While it could theoretically drop at any time, based on the current state of the movie industry, we may have to wait awhile before we get our first official look at Godzilla and Kong's long-awaited rematch.

More about upcoming Godzilla movies

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) is the sequel to Michael Dougherty's Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters and will be the fourth and final installment in the Monsterverse movie quadrilogy. This is no shocker. Having the trailer debut in front of a re-release of Inception would have not been smart, especially since GvK's release is nearly a year away. As for Dune, I already know that money isn't Villeneuve's main concern; he just wants to put his latest work out in the world as soon as possible, regardless of how much it makes, not unlike Christopher Nolan with Tenet. I'm definitely looking forward to this.

As expected. I wonder which film it might be attached to to premiere a first look.

Back when we heard that a trailer would've been shown at the end of July I was extremely skeptical, and looks like we were correct in those feelings.

The film is still nearly a year away, so I could see an initial trailer popping up as late as the end of 2020.

Right. If WB is planning on doing a good, short ad campaign for GvK, I wouldn't expect a trailer till the end of december at the earliest. I think a debut around Christmas time could work to start off the marketing... maybe it could be shown in front of Dune perhaps?

Yeah...sorry guys I had to click-bait this one. When the "We got this covered" article about the trailer came up I just couldn't help myself, my inner journalist kicked in.
