MemberMothra LarvaeDec-23-2013 4:19 PMI Usually went for somewhere in between, Because in my opinion as good guy, I thought it was little to kid friendly and as a Villain it would be somewhere were I did not like it to be.
As an example for in between I like Godzilla as the savior of the earth by default but sometimes dangerous to humanity.
Because it is a very realistic way of what the character may act, if it existed in real life, and it can also build interest in both Hero and Villain lovers.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-23-2013 5:20 PMI dont think it's so much that he has been a hero for mankind before, but it's mainly him preotecting planet earth from any danger from space or here on earth, this is his home more then us.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-23-2013 8:56 PMI believe all adaptations of Godzilla are great, for each one means something to an individual. Personally, I've never been too fond of Godzilla being a, "Hero". Kinda silly and corny for my taste. I in fact, did love him as a villian(Which he was in the original). Overall I think him being an anti hero or a, "Force of nature" is the coolest because it is highly believeable. I see Godzilla as an actual animal. Not one with a lust to bring death, and not one with King Kong-like intellect that understands humans and wants to save them because he, "cares" lol. I picture Godzilla as a hurricane. He is so massive and so powerful. Destruction isn't what he chooses..Its just his nature. As I said, I picture him as an actual animal. i hope he is this way in the new film.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-23-2013 11:15 PMWell, really, I think both ways are good. I like him as a hero, protecting the earth from whatever threats show up, be it other monsters, aliens, or mankind, just as long as it doesn't go over the top by having him actually trying to save mankind like a superhero, like in the 70s movies. And I like him as a villain, an unstoppable force of nature that punishes mankind for its arrogance and causes death and destrucion in his path, as long as that doesn't go too over the top by making him actually malicious and going out of his way to kill random people, like in GMK (although that's still one of my favorite Godzilla movies). However, like most of the other people on this thread, I like him best as an anti-hero, both saving the earth in order to defend his territory and destroying cities.
