China release finally CONFIRMED for Godzilla 2014

Hello everyone!

Some exciting Godzilla 2014 news hit today: China has finally confirmed they will be releasing Godzilla :-)

I know, it's not exactly the most adrenaline inducing news you've ever seen, but it's still a big deal. 

China only releases 34 foreign (not 34 American...34 foreign) films total, each year. Competition for these spots is fierce, as getting a Chinese release basically guarantees an extra $30 million, even if it's a bomb. If it's a hit, China alone has been known to add $100 mil plus to a film's box office receipts. 

If China holds true to form with Godzilla, it significantly increases Godzilla's chances of a sequel :-)

Previously, many people assumed Godzilla would be getting a Chinese release, but it hadn't been confirmed that Godzilla was going to be one of the 34 until today :-) Godzilla has a confirmed Chinese release date of June 13th.
