Hello there. My sister recently purchased the Godzilla (2014) Original Soundtrack for me as an early birthday present. We're twins, so I told her I'd burn her a copy as her gift from me! ;) Regardless, I've listened to the music many times over, unacompanied by the the phenominal sound present within the film. I've even used a Music Maker program to isolate various pieces of certain tracks to hear them more clearly, to wit the subtle undertones that flow beneath the primary strings, brass and woodwinds. The soft piano and synthesizer notes that occasionally ripple through the score like deep currents in an ocean are utterly beautiful! Desplat has, in my opinion, created a marvelous score for a remarkable monster. However, what do you feel on this subject? Do you believe the film's music suited what was presented upon the screen? As always, your thoughts and conjecture with regards to this topic are most appreciated, even if you choose to keep them to yourself. :)

I think the music was just fine for this movie. As a stand-alone listening experience, maybe not so great, but as movie watching experience, yeah, it got the job done.

I agree with @Godzillatheking123, but when I watched the movie, I could barely notice the score among the bass effects, yet, I can say that my favourite tracks are "The Power Plant", "Godzilla Victory" and "Back to the Ocean".

JOAOMLO2 - I absolutely adore th "Back to the Ocean" track. There is so much texture and underlying complexity - it's gorgeous! I especially enjoy the piano pieces within it. :)

SOMETHING REAL - I fell in love with the soundtrack back when it got leaked. It's very old school but new at the same time. An instant classic in my opinion. Try listening to this unrelated piece and tell me what you think of from the movie while hearing it :)

I think it's the perfect music score for a monster film although I haven't whatched the film yet. Maybe my mind will change once I see how well it sounds to the actual film :)
