True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeJun-30-2014 1:00 PMTo celebrate my 400th post, the same height as the American Godzilla from the novelization of the movie, I've decided to make another short story. This one is the American Godzilla vs Gypsy Danger from Pacific Rim. It also gave me the chance to make a story out of the cool Godzilla pic (seen below) by Hydrallon at deviantart http://hydrallon.deviantart.com/art/King-of-the-Monsters-464318563 . This story is told from the perspective of Godzilla who just beat the MUTOs.
NOTE: Copy the pics below to a new tab to see them full sized. The Godzilla pic is 1680x1050 in size.
American Godzilla --vs-- Gypsy Danger
By: True American Godzilla
In the devestated city of San Francisco, a massive monster lay sleeping, recovering after battling a mated pair of parastic rival kaijus to his species. He and other kaijus lived millions of years ago, well before the dinosaurs, during an age when natural nuclear reactors flooded the atmosphere with nuclear radiation. His kind hunted Kaijus for meat (or to defend their territory), but also went after nuclear radiation.
The sleeping monster was called, by the humans he just saved, "Godzilla, King of the Monsters!" At 400' in size, covered in armor so tough that a 15 megaton explosion couldn't get through to do damage, jagged dorsal spines, and his greatest weapon the Atomic Breath certainly made the Godzilla species top predator.
Right now though, all he wanted was good solid sleep for his ancient rivals the MUTOs had done a number on him. He had slept for a good 8 uninterrupted hours, until something slammed on the top of his neck. It didn't feel like he was hurt, but he heard something shatter close by. Grumpy and not in the mood for another long battle, the dark blue bodied and tan underbellied leviathan stood upright to angrily gaze at the one who woke him.
It was a 260' tall blue machine, with a long yellow eye on its head and a strange orange center on its chest. Godzilla could sense nuclear radiation coming from in the human-shaped machine. The thing that shattered was a long claw of some kind, broken to thousands of pieces after hitting his mighty armor. The smaller robot acted surprised, either by his size or by the strength of his armor... or both.
Before Godzilla could scare the small pest by roaring at it, the thing fired plasma charges from the hands at his gilled neck. Some pain shot through his body, as did a great rage. With a swipe of his long tail at super-sonic speeds, he aimed for the machine's chest region. The robot jumped up, hoping to dodge the attack. The robot was too slow and the spines on his tail caught the legs, sending the machine flying at high speed down a demolished section of the city.
As Godzilla lumbered to the pest to see if it lived, still aching and tired, he spotted the legs; shattered and detached from the robot. His hopes at going back to sleep sank as, despite not having legs, the metal thing was still alive! It was using two buildings on opposite sides as support for his arms to bring itself upright. The orange chest region hummed to life, a great surge of nuclear energy building inside it.
The metal monster may not be a Godzilla, but he recognized a form of Atomic Breath was building in it, and accepted the challenge. Determined to quickly end this pest's interfierence with his sleep, his rage at it was shown on his face as he sucked in a huge amount of air. A blue glow and electrical surge came from his tail tip to his maw. His own Atomic Breath, being ignited by the electricity, was building within the behemoth's body.
The humanoid machine's Atomic Blast struck first, hitting his nose. The blast, despite the impressive build up, wasn't at all very powerful by his standards. The blast more irritated his nose and lips than any real damage. "Time to show him my Atomic Breath, and end this for good." he thought as he opened his powerful jaws and let out the Atomic Breath; a mix of super-heated ionized gas, nuclear radiaton, and physical force aimed right at the opponent's Atomic Blast.
The strength of the King's breath weapon was far greater than his rival's, easily pushing it back and striking at the mechanical menace. The more his blast pushed back the weaker blast, the machine's nuclear reactor was going critical due to the buildup in pressure. It didn't take long before the reactor went critical and glowing brightly. Without warning a massive explosion erupted from the machine.
Exhausted, aching, and very worn now Godzilla shook the dust past to see his fallen foe. It was in unrecognizable pieces, save for the head which was only half remaining. Satisfied that the pest was killed, the King of Monsters found an open region in that area and went promptly to sleep.
Had Godzilla the ability to read, he would have known the "metal monster" was Gypsy Danger. It's two pilots entered escape pods just before the explosion. The computer inside was fried long before the fight began. It was the Kaiju Category Calculator, which determined the level of strength/status the kaiju Gypsy Danger (a Jaeger) met. CAT 5 was the previously known highest sent from aliens on another world. The monster they lost to, little did they know at the time, was an Earth monster who's Kaiju Category was so high that the computer overloaded and blew.
