True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-04-2014 8:59 AMI've decided to write another short story, this time with an ID4 movie alien "City Destroyer" to add to
today's Independence Day Celebration! This thread is also a place where you folks can add your own short stories, regardless if they're related to my storeis or not.
To 'shake things up' for my stories, I've decided to add a new character... Godzilla's child. Unlike the Japanese films where Godzilla adopted a son, this one is a daughter. This short story takes place after my other two, shown below in chronological order... these naturally require the reader to have read the novelization of the movie by Greg Cox.
**After you read my short stories, feel free to add your own short stories.

And now, my new Short story
American Godzilla, the little Princess, and... ID4
By: True American Godzilla
In the abyss of the ocean, the King of Monsters was resting in a deep sea trench when his senses told him a "foreign intruder" was coming. He didn't fully understand what a "foreign intruder" was, but when it came to defending his home it didn't matter.
As the 400' tall armored, grey-blue bodied, and tan underbellied leviathan readied himself to journey out from his home, he remembered to do one important thing first... tell his child he has to go. Unknown to most humans, he'd found a baby Godzilla frozen in hibernation. After freeing te child, he found the kid was still alive, and was a girl. Female to male Godzillas were much like the gender of humans, one isn't always bigger than the other. Female Godzillas were a little slenderer, shorter but rounder dorsal spines, and very beautiful to a male Godzilla. His daughter has yet to breath an Atomic Breath, but
she was even bigger than he was when he was her age so she was already quite strong being 100' tall. Young Godzillas go through a growth spurt, so by the time she's 16 years old she will be 250' tall.
The only humans to know of his adopted daughter was the Brody family, who had the same idea as he one day, take their family to an out of the way place for a vacation. Ford's son, Sam, called the Monster King's daughter Aurora. The two were about the same age, and surprisingly to Ford and Godzilla, the two became inseperable friends.
When Godzilla had to leave to fight the MUTOs (2 years ago), he didn't have a little one at home waiting. Now that he has one, he couldn't leave without saying something.
He found Aurora already playing with an abyssal Giant Squid after having breakfast, which was a great way for her to develop her swimming skills. She would chase it around trying to catch the speedy cephalopod. "Aurora, come here." he asked his daughter. She stopped and happily swam towards him, humming a little tune along the way. "I need to go to the surface, tr" he began, but as soon as he said "go to the surface" Aurora's pupils widened with joy.
"Can I come too! Are we visiting the humans! Oh please can I come?" She eagerly asked rapidly with excitment. Godzilla chuckled at her enthusiasm. "Sorry, not today. Trouble is brewing up there and I want you to stay here where it's safe. I shouldn't be gone long." Godzilla said reasuringly to her, hoping she would stay. She gave a disappointed sigh, looking down. Then she grabbed his leg, and in a sad, pleading tone "Please take me with you. I promise to be good. I can watch you fight from a dsitance so that I can be safe and learn from you. Please?"
That was the thing with Female Godzillas, their sense of curiosity was greater than males, making rasing one more difficult for a father than raising a son. "I can teach you some moves when I return. Stay here, safe and hidden." He closed his eyes and turned to leave when he felt little Aurora grab his leg again, hugging it with her body.
His instincts told him "Don't look", but he did anyway. "Oh no" he immediately thought as he saw the 7 year old Aurora give him the sweetest little puppy dog pout. He could face the MUTOs, challenge a giant robot, even take on the former Monster King from 'Final Wars' to a duel...
...but he couldn't say no to Aurora, who was now happily swimming alongside him towards San Francisco. As San Francisco came into view, a few things caught his eye almost immediately. The Golden Gate Bridge, which he smashed through 2 years ago, was just finished being rebuilt. The rubble from the destroyed or damaged buildings was picked up, and repairs were still underway. The two slain MUTOs weren't to be seen, prehaps the humans took them to study. What caught his eye the most was the 15 mile wide spacecraft coming out of the clouds, trying to center itself to the city.
The ship, which his senses told him was the intruder, didn't smell as if it came from Earth, thus it's foreign to this planet. It was round, the top half being a half-circle, while the bottom is flat. The front, he assumed, to the spaceship was this odd square protrusion sticking out at one point. Little Aurora was scared, feeling like she shouldn't have come.
"Don't worry," he reassured her, "I'm scared too, but if I give in to fear the intruder will harm my home and those in it. Facing what one is afraid of is the best way to no longer be afraid of it. One must have the skills and strength to face it though, so you stay here at the Bridge." She nodded, feeling less fearful. She gave a warm hug, to wish him luck in the fight.
Godzilla marched into the city, gazing angrily at the strange vehicle. Suddenly the middle of the ship opened up, a green light beam shown brightly at the middle of the city. His instincts told him this was an attack of some kind, so he charged his Atomic Breath. The dorsal spines glew brilliantly with blue, and he unleashed his nuclear ray at the ship's center. To his surprise, it hit an energy barrier well in front of the now charging weapon. The shield did buckle a little from the blast, but only a little.
Godzilla had to risk it, charging his full nuclear reserves to the max. It was risky because, if he held too long he could go into a 'meltdown', and leave her daughter an orphan. IF he didn't, the intruder would destroy the city, and may even hunt down Aurora.
The thought of Aurora being hunted and killed by the intruder angered Godzilla, so he concentrated. Soon a vibrant red glow crackled and surged along his dorsal spines, his armor beginning to crack at the intensity of the coming blast. Just as the ship fired its blast right at Godzilla, the Monster King fired a bright red Atomic Breath. It was so powerful that the shield quickly thinned out and gave way, allowing the blast to make contact with the alien's blast. An intenst explosion resounded when the two collided...
...which blocked Aurora's view of her father. She feared the worst, but before she could dwell on this, she saw the ship exploding from the center outwards. She watched as the ship insides were being destroyed and the metal thing was beginning to fall from its grace. Aurora cheered with joy, her dad did it!
Her joy was quickly shut down as she saw the dying metal monster coming towards the bridge she was at! She dove down underwater, thinking the flying monster can't swim. Just in case, she planned on swimming to her dad in the city.
She got to the shoreline, panting as she went her full speed. She was glad to have chased those Abyssal Giant Squids, for trying to catch them made her increase her swimming skills. Suddenly she was being picked up! Was there another enemy monster about? However, she soon saw it was her dad.. he'd survived the blast! His back was scarred from charging to that high of an atomic level. He was exhausted, extremely low on nuclear reserves, but otherwise fine. The two hugged each other, happy to see each other. Aurora learned a valuable lesson: Fighting for real wasn't fun but dangerous; and only should be done as a last resort for it was not a game. She made sure to tell her dad this, both still refusing to let go of each other.
The tender moment was broken when they heard a man from a contruction ship scream over some speakers "Oh come on! I just fixed that bridge!" Sure enough, the bridge was destroyed again, and again as a result from Godzilla. However, considering the city was saved from harm, he doubted the humans would complain to him.
The two returned to their home, where it took a few months for Godzilla to completely recover, and his regeneration to repair his scarred back. As he slept one day, Aurora noticed a gigantic lobster creep silently towards her dad, its claws openning up to strike at the King of Monsters.
Aurora was at first fearful, but then remembered he dad's words. It was an animal, so reasoning with it wasn't an option. To protect her sleeping dad, she tried to charge her own atomic breath. The lobster came towards her, noticing her movements. She was getting nervouse, but begged her body to allow her to fire the super-heated vapor gas mixed with nuclear radiation and some physical force. "An easy prey" the giant lobster called Ebirah thought, even though he was only 100' tall and 400' long. His powerful, armor piercing claws were almost in strinking range, when suddenly a small blue blast erupted from Aurora's mouth! Ebirah's head took full blast of it, and his armor there was its weakest. Ebirah was slain right on the spot!
Joy filled Aurora, who turned to tell her dad; but was surprised to see him already awake, watching the whole thing. "I sensed him almost the same time you did my little Princess. Before I could react, I saw you jump in. I was ready to fire my Atomic Breath, but was glad to see you handle the situation very well... I'm proud of you." The two were very happy, Godzilla was especially happy to see"baby's 1st slain kaiju."
