GODZILLA 2 Footage Description!!! (The Entire Godzilla Panel Explained in Detail to the Best of My Memory!)

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 9:43 PMGodzilla 2 was massively teased at the Legendary panel and I was there to witness it! Here's what I saw in full detail:
Legendary panel begins and the stage lights up. An annoying hostess from Nerdist or IGN or whatever comes on stage and introduces Thomas Tull who congratulates everyone at Comic Con for making Godzilla a smash success. Says he apologizes that Gareth couldn’t make it to say hi, so he plays a special video:
Gareth is on-screen with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background and says he’s sorry he couldn’t make it to Comic Con because he “was helping the city rebuild after Godzilla’s fight with the Mutos.” As Gareth tries to thank the fans for helping make the sequels possible, he mentions he’s working on other projects first (AKA Star Wars) and will work on Godzilla 2 soon.
Then something interrupts Gareth, to which Gareth looks off screen and yells, “COME ON GUYS, KEEP HIM OVER THERE ON THE ISLAND. I’M NOT CLEANING THIS UP ALL OVER AGAIN!”
Camera shifts to what he’s talking about, it’s Alcatraz but it’s covered in a massive dust cloud. A tail swipes through the dust clearing it, you see Godzilla in his fully-detailed glory. He roars and deafens all of Hall H. We then see a text wall that says “THANK YOU” in big Godzilla font style. We then cut back to Gareth (with some of the camera/light crew hilariously put in the front on purpose for comedic effect), who then says while angrily storming off the view of the camera, “Yelling, he’s always yelling. Who does he think he is? Bryan Cranston?” Everyone laughs, including me.
Back to the panel, Thomas Tull says thanks again (this is where everyone thinks the panel is gonna end for Godzilla, nope!) then he says they actually snuck some “Top Secret MONARCH Files” to let us know what’s to come. Everything goes black to show off some footage, I scream like a fangirl:
The video begins with a speech by JFK (with some actual footage of the speech), we cut back and forth between him and top secret MONARCH activity, similar to the kind of footage in the opening of the 2014 film. Then we see images of Godzilla from the 2014 film, it freeze frames on him roaring and types something out on screen in classic “military file type” fashion and font, it reads:
CODENAME: GODZILLA
Then, the video teases some epic lines of text, I believe it was:
THERE ARE OTHERS!
Then we see a shadow of Rodan flying over the mountains. (His profile is very similar to classic Rodan and his motion is far more slick). More text flies in:
CODENAME: RODAN
We see a huge silhouette of Mothra come in close and flap in place for a second (she looks exactly how a realistic giant moth would appear, except just like classic Mothra, this one flaps slowly with massive power, great motion and animation). Even more text:
CODENAME: MOTHRA
Suddenly the video stutters and glitches out even more than most of the video (probably implying Ghidorah is gonna be the ultimate villain). And then we see small glimpses of a three headed winged creature. (His heads appear more dragon-like, like Smaug; wings are about the same but the motion is very smooth like the others). More text:
CODENAME: GHIDORAH
The final set of text begins to start getting typed, it’s hype-inducing. Text reads:
THREAT ASSESSMENT: CONFLICT INEVITABLE
“LET THEM FIGHT!”
Clip ends, Thomas Tull leaves the stage, and I need a new pair of pants.
And that's what I saw, it was glorious and I couldn't be more excited; well, maybe if one of them was Gigan. Any further questions? Feel free to ask!

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 9:54 PMthat was a way better description than most, i didnt know there was godzilla attacking alcatraz, or that they had ACTUAL concept renderings of their silhouttes, thanks

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 9:58 PMCould you possibly draw a picture and upload a picture of what you saw from the monsters? Also apparently Monster Island wil be on Alcatraz Island.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 9:59 PM@MECHA_RODAN Doubt it, it's way too small, Godzilla was probably on that tiny thing for a timeout.
@JUNKERDE I know, I don't understand why. It's a whole 15 extra seconds of a fully revealed Godzilla with a hilarious skit involving Gareth. I guess it's cuz it's a SDCC exclusive since the video more or less thanks Comic Con fans specifically.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:07 PMI may be thinking way too far into the future but with Ghidorah being the villain for the new film I wonder which kaiju they have reserved for the final movie, if legendary has even considered who they are going to choose.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:09 PMWas it a silhouette or did it actully show Ghidorah. Was he Gold!?
There are strong men and weak men. The strong ones are here to keep the weak ones up when ever they fail.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:11 PM@HIGH_FLYERS_TAG_TEAM All of the shots of the Toho monsters were either silhouettes (bodies blackened like shadows but profiles still visible) or shadows. Not much detail seen, but still plenty I saw to get excited!

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:18 PMWhat angle did you see Rodan?
Was he like this:
where his body shape is shown..
Or more like:
Where he's more flat?

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:21 PMI really want that vido to be shto the people who didn't go. You guys see it first then we non-comic conners get to see it.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:22 PM@Mecha Rodan
It may be leaked like the Wondercon footage and the 2012 ComiCon footage, but we may not see it in a while.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:22 PMRodan is the only one you only see the shadow of and maybe a millisecond shot of his silhouette, basically it was a pure underbelly view; like if you layed him out flat or was under him as he flew.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:32 PM@Gigan
That's awesome! What about the angles for Mothra and King Ghidorah? (Sorry for asking a lot of questions, but I want to draw these clips :) )
Also, did Mothra look like this a little?:

InstinctiveGigan
MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:36 PMPretty much, but her wings were equal in size both on the top and lower halves (like classic Mothra). Picture a skinny moth body, with classic Mothra's wings, and realistic moth fuzz (she's gonna look soooooo creepy XD)

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 10:36 PMThis is sensational! Even though I didn't see the footage, just reading this description is making me just as hyped as when the first Godzilla trailer came out. I hope to a God that there will be footage leaked in the near future!

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 11:13 PMawesome reporting! My guess is next year's San Diego Comic Con is when they will show teasers of the actual Monsters! *nerdgasm* I don't know about you, but I'm already planning my quest to attend Comic Con 2015!

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-26-2014 11:17 PMMay I recommend camping out? It's the only reason I was able to attend this year's Hall H programs.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-27-2014 6:25 AMI thought the confirmation of those 3 monsters was a massive joke at first. I'm extremely happy now, no way i expected this. Low expectations do pay off.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-27-2014 8:19 AMThank you so much for this. Did you see what kind of horns Ghidorah had, and what was his body shape?

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-27-2014 8:22 AMI highly doubt this will happen, but it would be so cool if these videos were on the special features on the DVD and Blu-Ray release.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-27-2014 8:37 AMAnd in what way did Ghidorah's head resemble Smaug? And did you see his tails?

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-27-2014 8:25 PM@GOJIRA2K Didn't see his tails (at least I don't think, silhouette and what not.), his head shape was more pointy and resembled that of most nowaday dragon designs like Smaug.
@GOJIFAN02 They played a load of clips from Guardians of the Galaxy; they even showed Thanos. They also revealed that Guardians 2 is already greenlit.

MemberMothra LarvaeJul-28-2014 8:31 AMHmm, interesting, but there's always the possibility that it'll turn out differently in the end. Anyway, I'm open to whatever they're cooking, since this 2014 movie rocked.
