An announcement regarding the Godzilla wiki

Hello Scified. I'm not sure how many users here still remember me, but I was somewhat active in this community around late 2014 and early-to-mid 2015. Unfortunately, I had to leave due to my expanding duties on the Godzilla wiki, Wikizilla, where I became a bureaucrat.

Gman2887 has graciously allowed me to make an announcement here regarding Wikizilla. Now I realize Wikizilla hasn’t had the most sterling reputation in the past and many of you may not necessarily have a positive opinion of the site, but in recent years I can assure you we have been diligently attempting to develop our credibility and become a more reliable, accurate and accessible Godzilla and kaiju resource. Part of our attempt to improve ourselves has been becoming independent from Wikia and establishing our own site, over which we hold complete creative and administrative control. Over the last few months we have been building the new and improved Wikizilla in secret, and I’m proud to say it has finally been completed and launched. Wikizilla is now located at http://wikizilla.org/, and the new website is already visually and technically superior to the old Wikia site. We hope to continue making steady improvements to our site and community, while also engaging with the rest of the Godzilla fanbase. For this reason, we are trying to get the word out to as many fans as possible.

Aside from shameless promotion of our new site on my part, this topic also serves as a small public service announcement. If any of you frequently consult Wikizilla or have in the past, you will want to begin visiting the new site rather than the old one. Wikia will be attempting to revive the old one and hinder our efforts to remain independent, but we believe Wikizilla.org currently is and will remain superior. If you already have a negative opinion of Wikizilla, I encourage you to just give our site a chance. If you have some legitimate complaints or concerns, I encourage you to bring them to our attention, or better yet, address them yourselves by editing the site. We hope to implement a more user-friendly format than the one Wikia utilizes. Aside from being more aesthetically pleasing, Wikizilla.org does not feature irrelevant ads that are haphazardly placed on pages and cause lag or interrupt the reading or articles. Additionally, the new site is functional on mobile devices, while Wikia is not, and we hope to launch a mobile app soon.
