MemberGiganJun-27-2019 5:15 PMOnboard the USS Saratoga, Lieutenant Crow was being briefed on the monsters by Sakurai. Crow asked, “What can you tell me about the creature we saw in New York? The Tyrannosaurus-looking bastard.”
“My father saw it in the Pacific once. It was after the Bikini Atoll test of 1954, and he determined that it was an iguana mutated by radioactive fallout. He dubbed it ‘Zilla.’ It’s the creature that caused the Chernobyl accident; it was mutated and its diet changed to feed on radiation.”
“And what about the other one? The one you called a God of Destruction.”
“That animal was my father’s obsession. He’s been studying it ever since he first learned about its existence.”
“Cut the bullshit, what did he find?”
“It’s an ancient alpha predator, much older than anything alive today; even older than the dinosaurs. It also feeds on radiation. My father was the only one who could track it. Using radiometric dating, he determined its age to be over 252 million years old, which dates back to the late Permian Period. He also found cave paintings and other things from ancient civilizations, showing that early humans knew about him.” Sakurai pulled out photos of temples and cave paintings dedicated to the creature and showed them to Crow.
“Got a catchy name for him?”
“We call him Godzilla. King of the Monsters.”
“So why’s Godzilla following Zilla?” Crow was clicking a pen as they talked.
“He’s a natural guardian of the planet and rises to restore balance whenever it is disturbed. Zilla is not a natural creature. He’s a man-made abomination, created by nuclear testing.”
The two then began examining projections of Zilla’s path, all of which led to London. Sakurai asked, “What do we do?”
“We get to London before Zilla does and prepare to kill him. Godzilla too.”
“Godzilla will stop Zilla. He will bring balance to the planet.”
“I’m sorry, Doctor, but I can’t bet that city and my men on a giant radioactive dinosaur.”

London
The USS Saratoga was stationed off the coast of London. The city was undergoing its evacuation as jets and helicopters flew above the ground. Masashiro Sakurai remained onboard the aircraft carrier and communicated with Crow via walkie talkies. “How’s the evacuation going?”
“We’re still getting people out of he--you gotta be shitting me.” A piercing shriek filled the air as Zilla appeared.
“What the Hell is going on?” Sakurai shouted into his walkie talkie.
“Zilla just showed up. I need you to stay on the Saratoga and order our men to fire at Godzilla if he appears.”
“Yeah, uh, okay.”
Crow hung up as he commanded the operation. Sakurai then got a call from a nearby naval ship. “Doctor, we’ve detected something approaching the shore.”
Sakurai used a pair of binoculars to look out into the ocean. He saw a row of tall, jagged objects that somewhat resembled maple leaves. Looking to the left and right of the first row, he saw two more rows that were not as tall. Removing the binoculars from his eyes, he saw that the creature was fast approaching the USS Saratoga. It swam underneath the aircraft carrier and began to rise out of the water. Its tall silhouette could faintly be seen against the night sky.
With Zilla moving further inland towards a nuclear power plant, Crow ordered more forces to guard the coastline. These soldiers stood on the roofs of buildings, ready to attack any creature that appeared. A large figure cloaked in darkness walked through the city. One man shouted, “Open fire!”
They began shooting at the creature, but they bounced off its tough, armored skin. He did not pay any attention to them and continued striding towards the power plant where Zilla was.
Zilla was rampaging, irritated by the military attacking him. He roared at them in anger, swatting a jet out of the sky with his arm. As it fell to the ground, causing civilians to scream as a massive foot stomped on the ground. Zilla turned to face the other creature and roared at it. The animal was nothing other than Godzilla, King of the Monsters. He roared at the smaller predator.
Zilla growled back and charged, pouncing on Godzilla. He tried to snap his jaws at his face, but the ancient alpha predator grabbed him by the neck and slammed him down before throwing him across the ground, bellowing. Godzilla walked towards Zilla, who ran straight at him, before jumping and landing on his back. The God of Destruction roared, more in irritation than in pain. He reached behind his shoulder with his head to bite down on Zilla’s long arm, slamming him to the floor. He prepared to finish him off, but before he could, military jets fired missiles at his gills, causing him to wince in pain. Godzilla bellowed at the jets, allowing Zilla to escape. Godzilla roared in anger as he headed back out to sea, the USS Saratoga following him close behind.

If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.
