Godzilla 2 KOTM Under performed Majorly, But Toho is Still ok with it, They want the Franchise to Continue after Godzilla vs Kong. But with the audience of 2014 seeing that they think would be a dumb franchise is actually doing good right now! nice fight scenes and a great Story! Well Critics think it has a stupid plot, but they don't know how a Godzilla Movie Works. With that out of the Question The Monsterverse Iphone Game Is in Development and Could Push the Monsterverse Franchise past its Marketing Point. Now Comes Godzilla 3. If it is going to happen I think it will be around 2024 to 2025 due to having some solo Movies for Monsters down the line in this Phase of the Monsterverse. Like an Origin Story for Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah. This is just a Theory.

I think any prospects regarding Godzilla 3 lie solely with how well Godzilla vs. Kong performs. After King of the Monsters plummeted, it's going to have to pick up the slack and really knock it out of the park.
I'm not particularly holding my breath.
I think if the Monsterverse would continue, I think we would see the first new movie around late 2021/2022 (likely something like a Mothra solo movie). Then I could see a new Kong movie happening around late 2022/2023 Then another solo movie around 2023/start 2024 (beast from 20.000 phantoms?) and then finally something like Godzilla 3 around late 2024/start 2025.
I think the Monsterverse should really use it's (possible) popularity from GvK and make more movies more frequently to keep the universe popular enough.
Long live the king...
I think that before we start guessing about Godzilla 3, let's just wait and see [You're welcome, everybody. :) ;) My own catchphrase is back. :) ;)], just so we know what Legendary has in mind for the Monsterverse after Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020.
I dunno, but 2022-2023 IF lucky
Zwei Wing is the best singing duo. Change my mind.
I think 2025, because we went between 2014 to 2019 without a Godzilla movie... granted there was a Kong movie in between and they were working on 2 other movies in that time, but I think we should probably assume something similar to happen, if it continues (which I really hope it does).

Considering Skull Island was the most successful in the Monsterverse, I'd bank on a Kong sequel first. But if by some miracle the Monsterverse continues we'll see a Godzilla sequel before five years. Some could argue that the five year gap is one of the factors that helped tank King of the Monsters--They wouldn't do that again.
