With this being a big Event/Movie, Fans of both Godzilla and Kong are waiting to see who is the True winner of these two. The 1962 Movie was Funny and Kinda Stupid Fans Say but there was no Definitive Winner, With That Being Said, The Monsterverse is at a Tough Point and I think it could Recover from it, The Godzilla KOTM Movie was a Huge Let Down at the Box Office but Legendary and Toho aren't Worried. With Both these Monsters Coming together to fight and with the Plot and Characters here is my Predictions Below.

Domestic: 319,320,438$

Foreign: 521,435,853$

World Wide: 840,756,291$

I feel like the numbers would be more like this:

Domestic: ~$50,000,000-~$100,000,000

Foreign: ~$200,000,000-~$300,000,000

Worldwide: ~$250,000,000-~$400,000,000

I'm so sorry, but I am thinking of this from a general audience perspective. If it was just the fans, then I think it would do better (or the same, depending on how good the film really is), but unfortunately, big films like these rely on how well the general audience liked the film.

But that's just me. Who really knows at this point?

Let's just wait and see.

Hmmm.....

Domestic would be something around 75,000,000 to 150,000,000, Foreign would be about 200,000,000 to around 300,000,000, So I think the box office gross would be around 275,000,000 to 450,000,000

Enough to keep the Monsterverse alive. That is really al I can hope for, but if we are speaking numbers:

Domestic: 280,000,000$

Foreign: 400,000,000$

World Wide: 660,000,000$

Godzilla: King of the monsters is one of the best cinema experiences I have had in quite a while.

TheLazyFish #TeamGodzilla

I think (hope)

Domestic: 200-300 million

Foreign: 400-500 million

World Wide: 600-800 million

Though I think something that will work in its favor is that it's a crossover movie, and people LOVE crossover movies, at least ever since the Avengers. They'll probably watch it... but whether they like it or not depends on the movie.

If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

It absolutely will not crack $200M domestically. That I'm sure of.

Another thing going for it is that, in its current release period, it has basically NO major competition besides Disney's Onward for almost 2 whole months.

With the controversy around Mulan right now and political tensions overall, there might be push-back in China, helping to free up the market for the movie which has always done pretty well in China.

It's also falling along the March break period, which will also help the initial release. It's also releasing internationally first, which should help as well.

All these combined, I hope will see GvK as the most successful box office-wise in the Monsterverse so far. Combining the instant draw of Godzilla with the stable legs of Kong.

G. H. (Gman) #TeamGhidorah

The Mulan "controversy" has pretty much died at this point--As expected. We keep banking on these type of things to work in our favor--Like the finger crossing the fandom went through over Aladdin's casting choices or bad CG. Clearly both affected the movie's box office take which sits over $1 Billion.

Mulan will absolutely make far more money than Godzilla vs. Kong. The question is, will GvK be in theaters long enough to rack up enough dough before Mulan blows everything out of the water?

Well, unlike this past summer, there aren't Disney bankrollers and other small films coming out the wazoo.

Sure, it's also not as busy of a period, but this release date worked out well for Kong's last movie.

I don't expect it to be some super mega success; I'd like it to be. But it should definitely do better than the last movie. It's simply got a better theatre climate in general compared to this past May and June.

It only has to contend with 2 Disney films without any other huge releases until May.

Hard to tell this far out, just ballpark guess looking at what other monsterverse movies have made and the slightly higher marquee value alone of both those monsters together.

Domestic: 120 mil

Foreign:300 Mil

Maybe there could be some increase or decrease based on reviews but I think that will be pretty close to ballpark.

G. H. (Gman) #TeamGhidorah

Oct-03-2019 9:14 AM

Im Durp,
I think that's a fairly realistic ballpark. I think this one may get closer to $500M, but you're not too far off.

Like you said, however, it's pretty far out for an accurate prediction.

Yeah looking at what Kong did 500mil definitely isn't out of the question, but I can't see it going far above that outside of some fantastic reviews and maybe the crashing of any competition. It would be fun to hope for a 600-700 mill movie like some of the guesses but I can't see that being something to expect.

I don't know that I would say truthful as much as pessimistic. Sure your estimates don't seem like they could be super off, but you gave a max prediction of 400mil when two thirds of the monsterverse's movies have cleared 500mil, with only one failing to meet that though it did come out right next to Aladdin which was a huge success and didn't receive the best reviews upon release.

Just kind of going off of what’s been said I agree with around $500 million worldwide, maybe a bit more. I don’t see it breaking $600 million at all though.

300 million WW, If that. Audiences don't give 2 shits about this franchise.

G. H. (Gman) #TeamGhidorah

Oct-04-2019 9:45 PM

The sad thing is, while $400-500 million would likely be enough to break even, I'm not sure it's a viable number to keep the Monsterverse going.

This movie has to pick up King of the Monsters' slack. That would mean blowing away the numbers of the first three movies by a wide margin. I don't see that happening in any scenario.

WorldWide:3 dollars

Real expectacions:

Domestic:300 Million Dollars

Foreign:500 Million Dollars

WorldWide:800 Million Dollars

Reason:Listen, people usually wanted GVK to be released, not KoTM,because the majority didn't know that it was in the making, and we basically wanted Godzilla to battle Kong, but this time there is a winner.

Ok,screw the rules,MACUMBALOVE IS COMMENTING ON THIS FORUM,HE SAID THAT PEOPLE DON'T GIVE 2 SHITS ON THE FRANCHISE,THEN WHY DA FREAK DOES HE COMMENT ON THIS TOPIC?

Oh and also, name calling?I mean,if i put my real name as the users name, just like how Chris and James Inkton put their real names,so admins,we need to nickname Macumba?Like really, this shit is getting ridiculous, then just put a stupid name, and maybe you should tell people to not put their real faces on their profile pic,and understand that some people have their real names as their profile names, then,we need to write the comments without their name,or just simply give him a nickname.Ok im gonna get a warning.

@Kamoebas V.6

Just ignore him. If the only thing he wants to do is talk about how the Monsterverse sucks, will fail and try to make everyone's different opinion seem like they are wrong, let him do it. The worst kind of attention you can give somebody is no attention. As long as the people in control of this site acknowledge his behavior, a warning or removal will be inevitable.

The only thing you are doing by acknowledging his comments is giving him the satisfaction that he triggered someone and making your removal of the site as likely as his.

I have been reading all this.

Before I write my calculation, I would to tell you how I've come up to those numbers:

For sure GvK. will be WAAAYYY more successful than KoTM. The fact that KoTM almost had the toho monsters as its protagonist, GvK. will be a familiar and all favorite american monster called KONG. And YES, KONG WILL DEFEAT GODZILLA, there is no chance they would let Godzilla win this.

So the domestic numbers will be higher than KoTM and because of Wanda Group, whom belongs Legendary Pictures, they will make a huge marketing in china for the movie. In Europe would be a little bit tough, because Europeans would like to see James Bond rather than GvK.

So those all be said:

Domestic:       150.000.000 €
International:  350.000.000 €

Total:             500.000.000 €

I know it looks not that much, but considering the movie will be face off against James Bond and also considering the fact, that there are not many ppl who watches Kaiju movies anymore, the total sum isn't that bad.

Cheers!

probably more than kotm for multiple reasons, but still not enough to make anything.

domestic:$75-150 mil

so not enough to keep MV going. sorry but gvk would have to make at least $700 mil to keep going and i can't see that

internationally:$150-325 mil

total:$225-525 mil

so not enough to keep MV going. sorry but gvk would have to make at least $700 mil and I can't see that

^And at the moment I find this optimistic. With the pandemic, a Pixar movie releasing the same day and Bond a week later, I have no idea how this will go down. It won't be massive, but WB may move it again. Who knows.
