What is Legendary Godzilla's top speed (on land) in Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)?

Hello, everyone. MDK here.

So lately, I was pondering about something. I was watching this video on who would win between Kong (2017) and Zilla (1998), and in that video, it said that Zilla was one of the fastest kaiju we have ever seen, clocking in at a top speed of 300 miles per hour. And then I thought to myself that Zilla could beat Legendary Godzilla in a race. However, I wasn't sure if that was true or not. But then it struck me: I didn't know how fast Legendary Godzilla really is on land. So I am asking everyone this question: How fast is Legendary Godzilla when he is on land? (Both walking and running.)

Now before you answer, here are some things we do know (Feel free to point out any other information if I missed any.):

-We know that Titanus Gojira has a top swimming speed of 40 knots, or roughly ~67 miles per hour, but that is in the water.

 -Zilla's top running speed is 300 miles per hour.

-Titanus Gojira got boosted up with a nuclear bomb in the film, so his speed might have increased due to the power-up. (Which is why I want you all to give his top speeds for before the bomb power-up [Act 1, Godzilla vs. Ghidorah in Antarctica], during [Act 2-3, the Battle at Boston] and after [Near the end of Act 3, Titans bowing down to him.] in numbers.) And yes, I am aware there may be some who will say his speed at the end of Act 3 will be the same as in Act 1, and there will also be some who disagree with that statement. But I am open to speculation from either side, so if you think you agree with either/or, then it is fine by me. Everyone has their own opinions, including me.

And with that, the speculation has begun. Good luck, everyone. And remember, accuracy is needed for this fact, as well as an actual number estimate for both walking and running.

Also, everyone can join in, and that means EVERYONE on the website (Admins, Moderators, Veteran Memers, etc.), so feel free to join in.

That is all for now. Let's just wait and see.

Good luck, everyone. I can't wait to see everyone's results. And remember, I may reply to your answers, so be on the lookout.

Good luck, everyone. :)

I think it would actually be LESS than his swimming speed, because he's a primarily aquatic creature. I believe his top speed is 40-50 mph. After the nuke boost, though, it'd probably be 100-200 mph (broad range I know). However, if that running speed is somehow his actual base running speed, I think he can swim almost as fast or faster than Zilla's running, but Zilla would probably be an even faster swimmer than Godzilla since she's also a primarily aquatic creature. I mean, he could have been sluggish when he reached that speed because he just woke up, so this isn't entirely impossible... but I think he wouldn't reach those speeds without the nuke.

Well, I'd like to adjust my speculation a bit... I'd rather say on my hypothetical "if his speed wasn't boosted" swimming speed, not quite more than Zilla's running speed. Probably between 130-160 mph at MOST. And that running speed down to 100-120 mph at the very maximum, really pushing it there.

Answer's already here:

https://beforesandafters.com/2019/06/26/to-pull-off-this-shot-the-vfx-team-had-to-make-godzilla-run-at-200-mph/

For this shot, physics took a back seat for an awesome running clash shot. Godzilla was moving about 200 mph, absolutely RIDICULOUS for a creature his size. Granted, a lot of it is because he's so big, but it's still immense seeing as how he does not seem the type to sprint like this.

This would mark him as one of the fastest versions of the character to date on land, made even more impressive by him being the largest live-action version to date yet.

Huh, so my original estimate was about correct... hmm...

@TheGMan123

Thanks for that.

But I'll still leave this forum up, just for fun and anybody who stumbles across this in the future. (If the admins let that happen, of course.)

They usually don't take stuff down, unless it's somehow spam or leads to an absolutely MASSIVE flame war. It's more likely to get locked, but it's not offensive at all so that won't happen.

@TheLazyFish

Thanks for the tip. I'll keep note of it to avoid accidentally making an offensive topic.

Also, quick update for everyone. I know that his running speed was 200 miles per hour when he was juiced up by the nuke (Battle at Boston), but I am still waiting for everyone to answer his true running speed (without the nuke). So good luck, and I can't wait to see everyone's answers.

By the way, speaking of admins and moderators, I am actually surprised G. H. (Gman) or Chris hasn't answered. Has anyone seen them?

NP

I think his top speed would be 40-50 mph, because we never really see him run too much before the nuke. Perhaps he was too heavy to run faster? Especially if his top speed in the water, his main element, is 67 mph, then I don't think he'd run much faster than 50 mph.

If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

What about when he charged towards Ghidorah in Antarctica?

Meh, at most then maybe 100 mph, but that's only if the swimming speed in 2014 wasn't his true maximum.

If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.
