An all new Godzilla film slate prediction! (2022 and beyond)3,535 Views14 RepliesAdd A Reply
With the recent announcement that the next MonsterVerse movie will be Kong: Hollow Earth (Or Son of Kong), and with Toho evidently gearing up for their World Of Godzilla universe, things look bright for Big G and company! But what could come next? Let's take a look!
First, the possible route of the MonsterVerse:
2022 - MONARCH: Season 1 on HBO Max
March 2023 - Kong: Hollow Earth
June 2023 - Mothra: Queen of the Monsters
October 2023 - Rodan The Fire Demon
February 2024 - Gamera
March 2024 - MONARCH: Season 2
May 2024 - Monster Island
August 2024 - The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms
November 2024 - Angurius
January 2025 - MONARCH: Season 3
May 2025 - Godzilla: World Destroyer
October 2025 - MONARCH: The Final Season, Part 1
January 2026 - MONARCH: The Final Season, Part 2
April 2026 - Destroy All Titans: Act I
March 2027 - Destroy All Titans: Act II
And then World of Godzilla:
2023 - New WOG Movie
2025 - New WOG Movie
2027 - New WOG Movie
2029 - New WOG Movie
2031 - New WOG Movie
2033 - New WOG Movie
2034 - New WOG Movie
2035 - Possibly final WOG Movie
I honestly think the MonsterVerse could conclude as soon as 2027, and I don't think World of Godzilla will last long after the much loved reputation the MonsterVerse has set on....
So yeah, let me know what you think in the comments. Otherwise, that's all for now folks!
Advisory: This isn't confirmed, so please take this with a grain of salt. I'm no insider, it's just a guess...
Eh, I'm honestly not sure about this though. But if I'm right, I'll LOL so hard....
"I honestly think the MonsterVerse could conclude as soon as 2027, and I don't think World of Godzilla will last long after the much loved reputation the MonsterVerse has set on...."
I wouldn't have said it like that since alot of old school godzilla fans will incline to disagree with you whole heartily.
Indeed. Especially given the Monsterverse's reputation really isn't all that great amongst a lot fans or even general audiences/critics for that matter. In fact a lot of people barely know the Monsterverse is its own cinematic universe. I've run in to plenty of people who didn't even know there were three movies prior to GvK before they watched it.
Additionally, Toho's series have had a better track record of lengthier series, so this entire prediction makes little to no sense.
Honestly, I see the Monsterverse fizzling out after another movie or two. A movie like GvK won't be as successful against a crowded slate, so they're going to need to pivot. I'd say we get two more Kong movies before WB closes shop.
I think we'll have at least one more solo Kong and one more solo Godzilla movie, maybe some movies dedicated to Mothra, Rodan, etc. Then just bring in either Mecha Ghidorah or Destroyah and have everyone team up against one of them. Good guys win, Titans are proven safe, MONARCH shuts down, WB ends the series, done.
Eh, i think World of Godzilla would be cool.
We won't get a solo Mothra or Rodan movie. Toho doesn't even find solo movies outside Godzilla bankable anymore, why would Legendary/WB?
It doesn't help a lot of people didn't know who they were in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and it wouldn't be wise to base entire movies off creatures from a film that flopped at the box office. There's just not enough money there to justify it.
Well, at least one more massive crossover event is order right?
YES THANK YOU
You're welcome, mate.
that means yes
Like a pirate, huh?
