
I (and a few other fans) initially thought that he did, mainly because the film is extremely vague on what happens to Godzilla, but apparently there are some sources that state that he survived. Either way, the movie kind of does a poor job at explaining that (along with a few other things).

I don't possibly see how anyone would take away that Godzilla Earth had died given the three whole movies establishing how monumentally unlikely that is, but woof. Okay.
The last shot of Godzilla is simply an explosion on him. If I were to think he died every time that happened Godzilla would've keeled over at least 1,800 times in this entire franchise.

Ive watched this three times since the last discussion on this, and it still baffles me on where people get this from.
