Godzilla vs. Kong has received some new competition.
The upcoming film Free Guy will now be released on May 21, 2021. This date is significant because it is the same day that Godzilla vs. Kong is currently slated to premiere.
Usually, a move such as this would be more impactful for Godzilla vs. Kong. However, thanks to the films recent move to a hybrid release, sharing the release date shouldn't be as much of an issue anymore now that the film will be available to both stream and view in theaters.
Unless there is any legal action taken that delays/changes Godzilla vs. Kong's release, then the film still has a good outlook.
