Millie Bobby Brown & Kyle Chandler Returning for Godzilla vs. Kong?

Winter of 2017 revealed that Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) and Kyle Chandler (King Kong [2005], Super 8 [2011]) would lead the cast of Godzilla: King of the Monsters directed by Michael Dougherty. The movie isn't due until next May, but news of returning cast members are already swarming around Godzilla vs. Kong.

A recent report included Zhang Ziyi as a returning actress in director Adam Wingard's 2020 battle of kings. Now, via The Hashtag Show, Brown and Chandler will reportedly return for Godzilla's next match--This time against King Kong.

The outlet also reports two-time Academy Award Winning Frances McDormand (Fargo [1997], Two Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri [2017]) has been tapped for a lead role.

Keep checking back as we corroborate casting reports for Godzilla vs. Kong.

Godzilla vs. Kong will also star Zhang Ziyi (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon), Julian Dennison (Deadpool 2) and Van Marten (Avengers: Infinity War). The film is directed by Adam Wingard based on a writers room story led by Terry Rossio. Alex Garcia is producing.

So this is somewhat worrying for Vera Farmiga's character if she's not mentioned here.

Interesting. Interesting indeed.Because my assuption whole time was that they are family father and daughter. And will be just in G2. I dont know about this, but i dont find convincing that father and daughter would be at center of action in two monster fights. I hoped that every movie will be about one family, continuing trend from G 2014.

^I feel the Brody family in the first film was hard to watch. I didn't care for any of the family and the mother kept making terrible decisions when things were looking grim. I feel like the movie was wasted on their point of view and didn't add any substance to it.

Now I obviously I have not seen G:KOTM and cant say Millie Bobby Brown & Kyle Chandler will add something for the audience to adhere to but I already like both actors and feel like they can carry the story more dramatically than the Brody family did. Plus star power helps bring in seats.

G14 killed off its biggest star and most interesting character in the first 30 minutes! I would loved to see Bryan Cranston along side his son help destroy the monster that destroyed his family and redeem himself after suffering for so long. But... that didn't happen. Instead we follow a soldier who so happens to find himself getting beaten around by every single monster in the movie around the world.

I am already happy to see the G2 is so far not killing off its popular actors that will be seen in GvK. They are not going to be making the same mistake as G14
