Debate week season 2 Day 4: Mechagodzilla II vs MechaGodzilla I

If they're not size-scaled, then Mecha-G II. If they are, then the original, cuz' that thing is a frickin' BEAST in both physical and ranged combat.

I'm never rude. I point out these things out of habit, you know? Also, i'm REALLY bad at wording things, so even when I'm complimenting someone, they'll probably take it as an insult.

MechaG 2 would win, but it woulds be close.

Pound for pound, I consider most Showa Kaiju to be more powerful than Heisei Kaiju in terms of durability and raw strength.

While MechaG 2 had some impressive weaponry, it was decided to take out the organic target that is Godzilla whereas MechaG 1 is just an overall weapon of destruction.

I'd give this to MechaG 1.

MGII because of his insane defenses. Even though MechaG did very well, I don't believe his missiles woud work against the synthetic diamond armor MGII has. That and the fact he may be able to absorb the lasers from MG's eyes like he did Godzilla and Rodan's beams. 

I don't think MG's armor could handle very many shots from the plasma grenade, that put even heisei Godzilla on his backfoot. In terror of MG he took more of an artillery role while Titanosaurus was essentially the front line and if it comes to jsut bombarding eachother while the original has more weapons on his side, I think MGII has stronger ones.

I think Mg 1 weapon can take down mg 2. You also have to rip off mg1 head to kill him.

Not true, Godzilla simply blew him up in Terror Of Mechagodzilla, after they changed him so his head getting ripped off wasn't a death blow

We'll with Mg 1 verison are we counting.

I'm pretty sure you can destroy anything by blowing it up enough :P

Since the MG from Terror of Mechagodzilla was just an upgraded version of the original I'm assuming Godzilla could havee blown up the original also.

GORILLAGODZILLA77897 - Hmm, this is a very compelling topic! In the long run, if both iterations of Mecha Godzilla were of equal size, I'd have to say that the original Mecha Godzilla would be the winner in a battle between the two - but only just so. As a whole, the original In my opinion, Mecha Godzilla was a more powerful all-around fighter, capable of dishing out both ranged and melee fighting power in equal measure. Mecha Godzilla II was more of a ranged/artillery expert who, while protected by extremely impressive defensive arrays, was simply incapable of adapting to a changing battle dynamic. Of course, this is simply my take on the situation - best when looked at as pure supposition. :)

I'll give this one to MGII. If they were the same size, it would be a very close, but plain MG would win.
