This is the thread that will be used for the new Godzilla (PS3) game. Here you will find the latest screenshots, news, and a list of the Kaiju adverseries you will face as either Legendary Godzilla, or Hesei Godzilla.
List of Kaiju:
Godzilla (Legendary, Hesei, Burning)(Playable)
Kiryu (playable), Super MechaGodzilla 2, MechaGodzilla 1974
Mothra (Larvae, and Adult)
This will be updated as soon as news comes along
Every mission within the game has an objective that must be destroyed. Completely destroyed. Be it nuclear plants or enemy monsters, these "targets" are marked upon the map of the city that you're rampaging in. Upon the map there will also be "Defense bases", or "Defense Towers". These specific bases are circled in red within the latest scan. Destroying these bases are inevitable as they house G-Force(And other military forces wanting to destroy you) and their powerful arsenal. Destroying them will cut off their military and reinforcement power significantly. (But there's a catch!) Wrecking mass destruction upon the map will trigger the "Disaster Level" system.
The more destruction of the map you cause, the more military forces you will alert and draw onto yourself. Destroying the "Defense bases" will greatly increase the "Disaster Level", which will summon the deployment of the Super X's depending on how much havoc you caused. As the Disaster Level increases, so does the difficulty and numbers of humanity's forces At the peak of the Disaster Level, humanity will be forced to deploy Kiryu/MechaGodzilla III against you. And any summoned (Not Yet Destroyed)Super X can enter the fray to fight against you alongside Kiryu.

Game Camera: GODZILLA's camera is structured with the visualized approach to look and capture the exact cinematic look of Toho's Classic Godzilla films. To make every action on screen to look straight out of the movies. You can freely control this camera to any angle you see fit, no matter where you place it, everything will look and feel like a Toho Godzilla film!
The Cosmos are present within the game when Mothra is on the field, when Mothra is heavily damaged, the Cosmos will sing to quickly heal Mothra. The player can temporarily silence them by roaring, or the player can find a "permanent" solution by finding their location and destroying the area. But the latter will take some precious time away from the fight as you'll have to follow the singing and look for noticeable signs to pinpoint where they are.
To permanantly end the healing of Mothra, you most destroy a glowing Mothra symbol, which is where the singing is coming from. So it would seem the symbol will represent the Cosmos. A more reasonable means than us literally obliterate the fairies themselves.
GODZILLA(PS3) Update: Continuing Mothra, apparently a mysterious enormous egg washes ashore on Japan after a huge storm. And within the egg seeks the challenge of Mothra! Seek her out and engage in warfare! (But not before going through Happy Enterprises's incubator first! ) It should be noted that the scan makes a mention of Mothra having yet to achieve her max potential, hinting no doubt of her Imago form. -------------------
GODZILLA(2014), upon reawakening from man's arrogance and revival of nuclear energy, as the alpha predator, Godzilla's presence has stirred the rising of other monsters within the world. Rampage as the ancient enforcement of nature's balance, you must decimate the imbalances that converge on your domain! Both man and monster alike!
GODZILLA(2014) is much larger and incredibly more powerful than Gojira, with overwhelming size and tremendous physical strength, the alpha predator can overtake even the most largest of obstacles. G14 has a brute-like play-style, attacking with savage force that greatly supports offensive play over defensive play. Generally in terms of physical combat.
However, GODZILLA is not without defense, his armor hide allows him to tank consistent damage from surrounding military forces. Against powerful monsters, it serves well against projectile attacks and energy weaponry. However it is advise that you rely more on offense than defense, since while G14 can handle barrages of punishment, offense is its greatest aspect more so than defense.
However the most dangerous and defined aspect of GODZILLA is his Atomic Breath, its power is extremely lethal and is capable of turning the tide of any overwhelming match, although it remains as a last resort that must not be heavily relied on.
KING GHIDORAH(Heisei): An ancient intergalactic destroyer of worlds, having landed upon earth during a meteor shower, the demon of space rises to extinguish all life on the planet! Go all out or become another victim of extinction!
King Ghidorah is a force unlike any other, with monstrous size and unfathomable strength, the king of terror can completely dominate the battlefield with just mere strength alone! King Ghidorah's hide is another onminous aspect of the terror, capable of withstanding powerful attacks with a defense as infamous as his physical strength.
King Ghidorah will fight in the style of an out of control berserk, unleashing onslaughts of destruction from all sides and from the heavens above. Relentless, horrific, and utterly dangerous. Although the most powerful of King Ghidorah's weaponry, are his devastating gravity beams! These golden lashes of his godly power are capable of sending even the most greatest of challenges to their knees.
It's advise that the general method in combating against Ghidorah, well, to even have a chance against the king of terror, is to rely on physical combat! And while King Ghidorah's power is terrifying, you must be aggressive in your assault! Holding back out of fear, or relying on defense will end in defeat. While airborne or in need of breathing space, use projectile means to send the terror crashing back!
MOTHRA(Adult!), BIOLLANTE, and JET JAGUAR will appear in the upcoming Famitsu scan! GORMARU ISLAND will bring the first hit exclusively to islanders here! Expect the scan sometime this week, this we promise once again!
EDIT: KIRYU might be confirmed playable in the new scan as well!! Again, The Famitsu Magazine containing the scan was released this week, I'm getting a hold on my scan providers to help out. So don't worry, it'll come ashore soon enough!
During your warpath of destruction, the game will play iconic Godzilla music, and during certain moments, like when you're winning a fight, or losing a fight, and during boss battles, the game will play into other iconic music from the franchise! One of those titles were revealed: When using Gojira, when destroying the entire city, the title music: Godzilla's Rampage/Fury of Godzilla from Gojira(1954) will play loud and horrifically!
G Energy is the source of nuclear power born from the research of Gojira after his landing in 1954, it's a power that aids in mankind's advancements, and will be the direct cause of their tragedy and downfall as it summons the king back to the surface! G Generators will usually populate the map, sometimes there will be more than one generator in place. These powerful generators, besides being the military source of G-Force and GDF's arsenal, they also contain nuclear reactors deep within their core! They contain G-Energy! Destroy the G-Generators and absorb the G-Energy! Absorbing the G-Energy will literally make Gojira more powerful and will increase his massive size to new heights! If you want to survive intense boss battles, you must absorb this power and evolve!!! (This officially Reconfirms that you will start the game out at 50 meters, and can evolve up to 100 meters by absorbing nuclear energy!) BUT be warn, absorbing too much G-Energy can result in YOUR downfall. (Meltdown most likely) HUGE Boss Appears!!: Depending on the stage, upon meeting several conditions during your rampage, a powerful monster will appear before you and engage in monster warfare! Not all bosses will be the same, they will need strategy to defeat, don't take any foe likely! Especially if you haven't evolved enough!
-Mothra(Adult) counts as a separate Boss Battle, she has her reflective scales and caN create powerful hurricane winds!(More details later)
-Biollante is another major boss battle like King Ghidorah, plus she can regenerate her health greatly!(details later)
-Jet Jaguar, while another major boss battle, is heroically fearsome and quick with powerful attacks, defense will be needed to endure this fight(details later)
-More powerful monsters are to rise in challenge to take your crown and stop your reign! And more hidden surprises await! (More challengers to come!)
A monstrosity born from the creation of G-cells, and the tragedy of a father's ambition to save his daughter. The behemoth Biollante ravages Japan in vengeful pursuit of your destruction! Biollante is a no-holds-barred major boss, you will need everything in your arsenal to defeat her, for she has everything needed to destroy you and much more!! With her piercing tendrils and constricting acidic vines, Biollante's attacks greatly supports aggressive mid to long range offense! She will seek to destroy you from a safe distance! However, dishing intense damage on her will provoke Biollante to stampede into a close quarters fight! In this type of fight, Biollante will use her massive jaws to rip you apart and to take the chance to heavily damage you with her Radioactive sap spray!! She is not without defense, her regenerative powers can greatly restore her health from whatever damage you inflict upon her. Even more so, her vines can form a giant thick shield to protect herself from your atomic breath! To defeat Biollante, you must destroy her sack to impair her regeneration and her radioactive sap spray! Destroy her weakness! You must be aggressive in your assault, but reflexive in your defense to survive!! Evolving a powerful Gojira is the main key to enduring this fight!! When playing as GODZILLA, you must decide to either defeat Biollante and let her retreat, or destroy her completely along with Erika! As the true enforcement of nature, rule judgement upon the imbalance! (Side note: Every monster in the game will react and behave differently should you play as GODZILLA)
Having cocooned herself in a state of metamorphosis, Mothra engages once more within her imago form! Wielding a greater power than ever before! Mothra(Imago) is a powerful major boss, capable of casting strong hurricane winds and striking antenna beams! She's a force with an absolute defense, her most potent arsenal, her reflective scales can turn back any horrible projectile back to its sender with added damage!! Her Wing Lightning can cause paralysis, it's a attack to watch out for! To defeat you, Mothra will purposely engage in head to head close quarters for an all-out attack with her reflective scales, and provoke you to attack her aggressively so she can rebound more damage against you!!! (In this fight, using your atomic breath recklessly will definitely tip the fight in Mothra's favor! Physical combat will no doubt be a key element to take her down!) Mothra counts as a separate major boss battle, and is thus far, the only character you have to fight twice within the game. Most likely you will fight her adult form at a later point in the game.
Having acquired the assistance of Ibuki Goro, the most powerful asset of GDF shines the heroic defender of Japan: Jet Jaguar!! Jet Jaguar is a heroically fearsome major boss, this combatant is highly formidable in hand to hand combat, capable of unleashing swift takedowns, body slams, and powerful strikes!! To gain an advantage in battle, Jet Jaguar is blaze a powerful blinding light from its eyes to temporarily blind and confuse you during combat! Beyond this, Jet Jaguar is capable of putting distance between itself and you should things get too heated for itself, capable of taking off to the skies for a breather before attacking once more! Don't take this combatant likely, while he may not have a projectile weapon, Jet Jaguar's attacks deal tremendous damage, defense is key to endure this fight! Time your strikes to catch this opponent off guard and then punish relentlessly! (Bottom print is a little murky, but Jet Jaguar appears to be an unlockable character that can be played throughout the game! Punch, Punch, Punch!!)
KIRYU is a major boss, however, he is a different boss than the rest of the lot so far. Unlike the other major bosses, KIRYU will ALWAYS come back to fight you. KIRYU is G-Force's last resort once the player reaches the maximum limit of the Disaster Level, it will be unleashed once it is completely set off!! When having its rocket launchers and other weaponry locked upon its form, KIRYU will fight with intense firepower, however his speed and pace will be slowed significantly. Should Kiryu dispatch these arms of firepower, the massive machine will fight with an incredible burst of speed and relentless in terms of physical combat. However with the lost of its weapons, and should it take overwhelming damage when fighting against you, KIRYU will engage in several last resorts, The Drill Arm, The Absolute Zero Cannon, and The Hyper Maser Cannon!!! The last resorts will be random, so KIRYU's last chance to destroy can be either method. Meaning no matter how many times you fight Kiryu, his final means of attack will not be predictable or always the same. The Drill Arm is capable of heavily decimating your health if it's drilled into you, so don't give MechaGodzilla the chance to land a firm stab into you! The Absolute Zero can completely encase you within a fortress of solid ice, one hit and it's game over! The Hyper Maser Cannon is a continuous onslaught, defending against it will be highly dangerous, be sure to manage your reserves and counter with your atomic breath to direct the Hyper Maser away!! Defeating Kiryu will never be an easy challenge, adding onto to the boss's difficulty, Super X, Super X2, and Super X3 can join the fray to take you out! So long as you continue to max out the Disaster Level during each mission, mankind will answer the call of destruction with the might of Kiryu!
(KIRYU is an unlockable playable character!!)
James Blackhad caught a great catch within the latest scan, revealing the Artificial Lightning Generator Towers from Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964)!! It's a very interesting aspect, and makes us wonder what other man-made weapons from the films are being brought into the game!
New Gameplay video! It's Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah! New trailer featuring Biollante, Jet Jaguar, Adult Mothra, and some other monstrous surprises. Expect it today or tomorrow.
New extended trailer! To see the new footage start the video at 2:15 and watch from there. I don't understand Japanese so I can't tell you what they say.

GODZILLA GAME UPDATE: BURNING GOJIRA Nuclear overload! Meltdown imminent! Burning Gojira rampages onto the world!! Begin the countdown!! Take control of Gojira in his most powerful state, crush opponents with his Spiral Atomic Breath, and overwhelm them with the fury of uncontrollable atomic energy! Fight to the bitter end, to your "very last fight"!! Meltdown imminent. Meltdown imminent!! (Burning Gojira is an achievable state by absorbing G-energy and destroying the city, doing this will evolve the monster with unfathomable atomic energy! However, Burning Gojira is also a playable character that can be unlocked and played separately! And yes, the scan makes it painfully clear that you WILL meltdown once a certain temperature(countdown) has been reached. It is unclear if you will meltdown if you play as Burning Gojira separately as its own character. Chances are they are talking about if you decide to transform into the state from normal Gojira.)
GODZILLA GAME UPDATE: Super MechaGodzilla (II) The next line of defense from G-force, Super MechaGodzilla!! Armed with powerful arsenals and destructive weaponry that can match the strength of any foe, could this be the salvation of Mankind?! Super MechaGodzilla is another potent weapon of G-force, armed with the Mega Buster Ray, Laser Eye Beams, and and a incredible NT-20 Heat Shield, it's a machine of war that is more than a match for the King of the monsters. However its deadliest of abilities is the Plasma Grenade, and its fearsome last resort, The G-Crusher dual with Garuda!! Strategy will require both overwhelming offense and reflexive defense to assure survival! Adapting is key to victory!! But beware of the Paralysis Missile Strikes, they can assure ultimate defeat!!
GODZILLA GAME UPDATE: DESTOROYAH!! It wouldn't be a memorable 60th Anniversary without one of Gojira's most deadliest and destructive foes! In 1954, an abomination indirectly born from the genius of Dr. Serizawa and the roots of the Oxygen Destoryer was spawned. A haunting from the past rises in the form of a terror even more horrifying than the King himself, Destoroyah!! Destoroyah is the sinful successor of Dr. Serizawa, and with its devastating micro oxygen prowess, annihilation becomes an end that is nigh! With its powerful Micro-Oxygen ray, Laser-Horn, means of Flight, and brute-like strength, the chances of survival are slim! Even more nightmarish, is the demon's life crushing Oxygen Destroyer Chest Cannon!! Everything you've learned from previous battles, and everything you've gained will be needed to endure this. Be flexible in your tactics! Be aggressive in your assault! However do not be careless, doing so will allow the enemy to reconstruct and regain its prime in full recovery!! -Donnie (For those who don't know, yes Destoroyah had a Micro Oxygen Chest Beam in Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, while it did not make the final cut of the film, within an alternate ending that's been around online for years, it can be seen. Although without its effects. The attack is a fatal kill-shot in the game, so be mindful of close combat!! )
GODZILLA GAME UPDATE: Showa MechaGodzilla and MORE SHOTS(SUPER MECHAGODZILLA AND 1974 MECHAGODZILLA) PART 2 Translated from Famitsu and Scan: MechaGodzilla 1974: Kiryu and Super MechaGodzilla were created by G-force to stop Gojira and the awakened GODZILLA, but where did this strange new MechaGodzilla come from ?!! It is not from the build of humanity!! It is equipped with overwhelming unknown technology, and proves to be a power greater than Gojira itself!! In the addition of the last remaining monsters, expect a follow-up soon!!
GODZILLA GAME UPDATE: NEW ABILITIES AND POWERS The more energy you absorb, the more powerful you will become, in turn of this, you'll grow increasingly as a danger to mankind. They will intensify their assault against you as you evolve!! Evolving Gojira will allow you to gain an increase in powers and abilities, for example, by evolving, you'll unlock the ability of using the Spiral Atomic Breath!! Besides, you will also be able to use Atomic Flight!! An ability that can be used in combat for quick maneuvers and dodges, and to strike airborne opponents!! ALSO..This ability can be used to fly off to your next destination as a means of a shortcut to battle your next major boss!! As you evolve, as will your strength and stamina, allowing you to lift and grapple any enemy!! In doing this, you'll earn the use of several punishing blows: Holding down your opponent and biting them down, Lifting up your opponent and tossing them around like a mere doll, and Holding onto your enemy to unleash a zero range Atomic Breath or Nuclear Pulse!!! If you want to develop more of this power, you'll need to absorb more radiation and wreck more destruction!! But this is a choice that falls onto the player. remember the Disaster Level will play into effect, and will draw overwhelming forces onto yourself if you choose to being a living atomic force!!
GODZILLA GAME UPDATE: GROWTH EVOLUTION: The more you destroy and absorb G-energy, the more powerful and larger you become! You start the game out at 50 Meters, but can max out at 100 Meters!!! The larger you become, the more destruction you will cause in your wake, along with a powerful boost in strength and stamina!! Once in the 100 meter class, you'll be able to tower over cities and destroy entire surroundings with one sweep of your tail!
GODZILLA GAME UPDATE: GAME STORY AND PREMISE ( Information from Tokyo Game Show thanks to Soundwave having dug up some information while he was there from one of the demo booth's Bandai Namco representatives. Although missed placed his notes for a long while before finding them in his other bags. ) "In 1954 the horror of Gojira had grimly demolished Japan, decimating Tokyo into seas of flame and ruin. Its wrath summoned by the carelessness of man in the destructive use of atomic energy. It wasn't until the development of a powerful secret weapon known as the Oxygen Destroyer, was humanity's nightmare finally ended by bringing down the monster. Sixty years later, mankind, ignoring the mistakes of the past, has re-engaged in the development of atomic energy. Studying the nuclear power that Godzilla ravaged with in 1954, the creation of G-Energy was produced, a source of nuclear power that is deemed the strongest nuclear resource in mankind's history. The countless testing and production of G-energy spurs the creation of a new Godzilla, and with its hunger for nuclear energy, the monster wades war against humanity! The conflict of humanity ignites the rising of other titanic monsters and terrible forces, shattering the natural balance of the world. What will become of humanity as it faces judgement? What ancient horrors will rise from the imbalance of the world? What awaits from the newly revived era of Godzilla?!" (Story Mode Notes)/Soundwave ------------------------------------------------------ I've been meaning to get to this for some time! People have been wondering what the overall story and premise of the upcoming GODZILLA, and aside from some outlets, knowing was entirely sure. Either it was because no one looked into it or no could translate whatever the website or famitsu scans gave out. All in all, it was to put together the phases of our FAQ for the game. Thankfully Soundwave found his notes from TGS, and has a few more notes from his little questions that he had asked. He'll lay out the details once he reboots from sleep mode! Until then, enjoy this article! -STEGZ
GODZILLA GAME(PS3) Play-By-Play NOTES (These are notes written down by Soundwave's assistant who experienced most of the Play-By-Play Live-feed, and the small interview given to developers during it. Soundwave couldn't watch it since it was available in his region, but the coverage sent to him was spectacular and well informed!) 1. Jet Jaguar is incredibly agile and reflexive, it is capable of side-stepping your projectiles and most of your attacks. While countering with destructive counters. It is quite fast, and is dangerous in close-combat. Despite this, it has fairly fragile defense to balance out his advantages. So striking hard at the right moment can aid in winning the battle. The players who experienced this boss battle, while having a rocky start, managed to finish the fight! Nuclear pulse really helps out in close quarters!! 2. Kiryu was a boss battle players fought well against, UNTIL the rocket launcher packs were dropped and they were fighting against a speed-demon. However, having evolved above 60 meters, players endured the battle to the point in which Kiryu resorted to its Drill-Arm and Triple Maser cannons. One player managed to kill Kiryu before Garuda was summoned and reached the battlefield! She was pretty frightened about losing! (Your first encounter with Kiryu will be slightly above average in difficulty. But the more times you summon it by Disaster Level, the boss will increase in difficulty) 3. Mothra Larva...MOST PLAYERS LOST TO HER! Players were focused on fighting Mothra at close range, but underestimated the kaiju when it started hiding behind city structures and spraying Silk-Web to cocoon them. To be freed from the webbing, Nuclear Pulse is advised to escape, but if you drain your Temperature Meter, you'll have a harder time of escaping and can potentially be cocoon if careless in battle. Atomic Breath can stop Mothra during spray if aimed and struck properly. To avoid any damage, she will use her surroundings to shield herself away from your attacks. "Mothra's Song"(Healing factor) was turned off since players were doing pretty bad. This gave them a more, easier chance at winning against Mothra. 4. Destoroyah...NO. SURVIVORS. players, they were brave, they were courageous...But without achieving "Meltdown" (Burning), they generally stood no chance. Don't read these notes wrong, it wasn't ENTIRELY one-side, but you know it is bad when not even the developers want to take on Destoroyah. "Did we disable the Chest Cannon in this demo?" "No, why?" "Well then...Who wants my turn!?" Other Notes : -A new PV was shown, PV are Trailers basically. Didn't see it. -The game has a cinematic opening sequence -New monsters were teased Interview Coverage: -Sequels are currently on the table from how high preorder sales are, if Godzilla-Godzilla does well, they'll dive into green-light for 2015 production. -If a sequel ignites into production, the developers plan to bring back BAGAN since they have Toho's blessing on using the character. They found their experience with "Super Godzilla" fun enough that they would be delighted to revive the villain. -Working on GODZILLA(2014) as a playable character was exciting for the developers, they loved the film, and honorable accept G14 as Japan's Gojira. And they do admit, clearing the game is a lot easier when playing as him given his stats and abilities. -Due to noticeable demand, the developers have entertained the thought of a Godzilla fighting game. If they were to do one, they would emulate the Godzilla films and Tokusatsu effects. But remain in the realm of traditional fighting games like Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters(SNES) or the Ultraman Fighting Evolution series. -A PS4 Godzilla game has been talked about, they know fans have been wanting one so it's something they are looking into. But they want to see how well their current Godzilla games does on the market. "Xbox One and Wii-U aren't consoles who welcome a Godzilla game unlike PlayStation, in which games on PS are openly accepted and can thrive on their own footing. They don't have to be shooters or a party-game for people to notice. Plus majority of our audiences are on PlayStation, so if we produce anymore Godzilla games, they'll be on PlayStation only. Of course ports are still a possibility if the demand spurs strongly from other console communities." -They know that fans overseas want their game to be localized, they read feedback upon articles and forums, and they notice their demand. They would be happy to bring the game over, but they couldn't discuss anything further for now. If things work out, fans will be hearing something in the near future! -------------------------------------------------- That about ends the notes, Soundwave's assistance couldn't watch the entire festival program, he had worked in the morning and decided to cut things off once program moved to talking about GMK. Overall, interesting notes and details! What do you guys think?
GODZILLA GAME(PS3) Play-By-Play Notes (Expanded Details) Several more details were received from Soundwave, there is a bit more detail and interview coverage from the program. Check it out! -Health system in Godzilla-Godzilla is hidden away from view to make the player feel more like an unstoppable monster. The game however does alert the player when their health is low through the change of iconic music and animation from Gojira. -Certain iconic OST titles have been mixed a bit to provide more than one music score to play throughout an entire level or boss battle. Although the dominate theme will be Godzilla's main theme. -Production of the game began in March 2014. S.H Monsterarts was a big help in providing them the best source for model accuracy. -Getting back to the fighting game concept, the developers were asked if they would welcome a concept like the "American Godzilla fighting games". They all agreed that the games were fun, and a step in the right direction in the sense of creating a more unique brawler. They would definitely be interested in having their own spin in emulating their concept and direction. If fans wanted it a Godzilla fighter like it, they would love to have a go at it. But there would be creative differences: "Unlike their games, our concept would be making the game feel more like the TOHO films than real-life creatures in the real world. They will still feel life-like as if they were real, but with all the elements of the Godzilla films. Village base cities and iconic places from the films, Tokusatsu effects, painted backgrounds, and tightly measured suit/prop accuracy. Four-way monster battles would certainly be a challenge, but the advances on our engine are powerful enough to support the idea." The interviewer joked that it sounded as if the developers already had a fighter in the works, to which the developers replied "Hahaha! Well when our audience demands a certain game idea, we listen, and during our spare time, playfully toy around with the idea. That way, if we decided to go with it, we won't be unprepared! But when creating games based on a franchise, we build off their source material and foundation. If we went with this idea, this concept and direction. We would use the Godzilla films: Invasion of the Astro Monsters, Mothra vs. Godzilla, and Destroy All Monsters, as a proper way to craft our fighter in terms of a source material to emulate from. Because those films feel massive in scale, from the monsters, to the destruction, to the huge battles, they are a strong representation of what a fighting game could be truly like with the right inspiration guiding you." Generally it sounds like they would be interested in bringing a Showa-style Godzilla fighting to the table, if they decide to jump on the idea of making a fighter. -To make clear on the whole Xbox One and Wii-U ordeal, the more expanded reason: "Xbox-One and Wii-U aren't welcoming as housing consoles for Godzilla games unlike the PlayStation. Such games are accepted more openly, and can thrive on their own as a unique gaming experience worth investing into, even when compared to other big titles. Ultraman Fighting Evolution on the PS2 is a prime example of this which is why it lasted so long to become a successful series. The PS4 and PS3 have the exact same environment, and our audience wanting a Godzilla game are generally on PlayStation. Our preorder sales are surprisingly high for our game, even by Bandai Namco's expectations, so it really shows you where Godzilla's new home will reside upon. Xbox One is more geared to western game works, big-budget titles, action games, and shooter simulations. And unless your game carries the same money-making qualities, it won't be noticed nor enjoyed as its own fun experience. The Wii-U somewhat has the soil to produce an environment like PlayStation, but the community of that console favors more iconic name-brand titles like Super Smash Bros, Mario, and Monster Hunters than anything like a new Godzilla title. Bayonetta 2 is a game from a popular series, but it did not fair well within Wii-U's environment when it should have. The Wii-U is usually a console that can accept various works. But the community isn't generally interested for fluctuating reasons. "It's not a fun game, it's not a family party game, monster games are dull." The reasons are all over the place. So a Godzilla title on their console most likely wouldn't thrive well enough from our research. Which is unfortunate, thinking back to Bayonetta 2, it is a solid creation crafted from passion. Our Godzilla game is from the same vine. When looking at these two consoles(Wii-U and Xbox One), it is sad to know that the state of their gaming community aren't entirely welcoming. With this in mind, any further Godzilla games to be produced by us will remain on PlayStation only. Of course, if things change and the communities spur a welcoming demand and interest, we'll see if porting is a possibility and test the waters. There is always the chance that Godzilla can storm other consoles. They just have to let him through and let it do its thing: Giving A Monstrously Fun Experience."

GODZILLA(Game) Update: GIGAN BOSS BATTLE Details! Check it out!!:
Gigan is a opponent with great size, agility, speed, and given his upgrade, a deadly increase in decimating strength! Gigan will be seeking mid to close range combat, hacki...ng you down to pieces with his Chainsaw blades, and blasting you away with his Cluster Light Ray!! Run away, and he'll charge you with blistering speed. Gigan's strength is capable of fatality if he combines barrages of his attacks together. (Slicer Disks mixed with Cluster Light Ray!) Unlike his film debut, he's a bit more smarter this go around!
If you engage in long-range combat, or force Gigan to take long-range combat, he will seek to destroy you with his manipulative "Slicer Disks", that will fire and return back to him. This attack can strike you many times to near fatal defeat! And YES, G-fans..
You CAN use the "Slicer Disks" to "Suicide" Gigan! (We're unsure if he will continue to fight if his head pops off, but we're assuming, he still might!)
But you'll need to be tricky when doing so, or else Gigan will see it coming and properly retake his disks without damage!! Using your Atomic prowess will help you, but your ace is that you definitely need size to survive, so be sure to grow to your maximum meter class!!

King of the Monsters Mode(Extra Details)!!
In "King of the Monsters" mode, you'll do battle against powerful for the crown and title of 'King of the Monsters'! Your opponents will fight against you within larger meter classes, and higher difficulties.
This has been gone over before, but there are a few more details!
This mode, is indeed, a "Time-Trial" Mode! While the monsters lined up to fight you will be in chronological order to the release date of their films. Depending on your play-style, the mode WILL randomize the opponents you fight based off what kind of Godzilla you want to be. You will face against 6 Monsters total!
You can evolve within the King of the Monsters mode like the game's Story Mode, meaning you can grow beyond 50-Meters, you can gain back your Atomic Spiral Breath, and all of your other abilities as well. But! It depends upon certain factors and conditions based upon the opponent who enters the stage. "Evolution Factors" will be marked throughout every new match on the map, so you'll see where you have to target if you want to have a fighting chance.
This mode will have an online-ranking system, remember this is a "Time-Trial", meaning your time will be added to the game's rank system along with thousands of other players! Finish with the best time and reign as number #1!!

IS RODAN CONFIRMED WITHIN THE GODZILLA GAME?
(Unfortunately, not right now)
We're aware that ever since IGN's article was posted up, the mention of "Rodan" has excited fans with the possibility of his inclusion. However, there is nothing c...onfirming his place within the main game's roster. Otherwise he would have been revealed by now.
Please try not to use Gigan as an example, certainly his spot was a surprise, but he is confirmed to being the final monster. If Rodan was within the game, at the very least, he would have been shown next to Gigan as the remaining kaiju additions. At best, it was simply a mistake on IGN's behalf, or the mistake of an ill-informed representative of Bandai Namco who does not know the game well. DLC is being planned for this game, and Rodan is being included within it. That's all there is to it. So for now, Rodan is not within the game presently.
(Although if Japan is getting the DLC first, it wouldn't be surprising if Rodan is included within the western release as a part of the main game's roster given how long they are taking to release it.)

GODZILLA(Game) FAMITSU INTERVIEW: (Part 1)
From Godzilla vs. Biollante, to Godzilla vs. Destoroyah, such fantastic works within the Heisei era were memorialized by the charm and efforts of hard workers, who ties root from the very beginnin...g of the franchise. And from its era, onward, the spiritual effects and works remain a classic historic cinematic aspect of the Godzilla franchise even to this day. All of it a respectful emulation of the predecessors who started it all.
???-GODZILLA, while a celebration of the franchise's latest anniversary, the game is also a love letter to all those who invested their souls and hard work over the decades into the series. From the support and love of the fans, to the passionate efforts of directors, producers, special effect artists, and legends like Kochi Kawakita. A kind man and faithful fan who helped carry many works of Godzilla within Japan since his entry within the monster's more golden years.
How did the idea of ???-GODZILLA come about?
"There have been several Godzilla games out, each one paying their own respects to the franchise in their own unique way. But none of them really paid tribute to the films that they were based on. To the classic memories one who have when watching one of the many movies, and to the monsters who rampaged into our hearts. And with our nation's icon making a huge revival from dormancy, we wanted to welcome back Godzilla by honoring the impact he had within our lives. By honoring all of its history and eras that became a part of our lives."
GODZILLA(Game) FAMITSU INTERVIEW (Part 2)
'Honoring', from the sound if it, you really went far for this...
"During the production of the game, several experienced special effects artists and producers who had helped make the films were ...reached out to help make the game as faithfully close to the classics as possible.
From making the game's cities and environments emulate the film sets that would be crafted for numerous memorable battles. To the Tokusatsu effects that would give beautiful life to the Godzilla films that were made into a reality. The treatment of the monsters themselves, after all they are the main stars, would be crafted in respectful detail, honoring them with the spirits that they brought out to many fans on the cinematic screen. Sound effects were of no exception either to such loving treatment, as they were recaptured and revived to their purest form as if it were the day they were first created all those years ago.
We are knowledgeable of Godzilla, we love him and all of his titles. But admitting here and now, we were not embarrassed to reach out to the seniors of the franchise for their input toward this game. Because even through we had the spirit as fans, we did not have the "hands-on experience" as film-makers and SFX artists [Laughs]"
GODZILLA(Game) FAMITSU INTERVIEW (Part 3)
Q: I know this is hard, but Koichi Kawakita played a huge part in this game correct?
"Yeah, the team isn't quite the same upon hearing his passing.
One of the most sought out seniors was Kochi Kawakita, given his years of experience, we believed that ???-GODZILLA would benefit greatly from his aid.
Looking at it now(the game), we invested so much of his spiritual charm as he would constantly make sure that everything felt like the movies that people enjoyed and cherished. Even more so, during days when he was ill or not the best of shape, he would still come in and play various stages of the game for hours on end. Always smiling, always laughing, and of course, always hitting us with the books should something not feel right or well in place within the game.
To the development team, to us, he was basically our sensei within the art of respecting Godzilla, so his word was taken with great influence. With having him on board with us throughout most of the development of our game, it brings us to tears when seeing this as the last Godzilla works he had ever done before he left us. The last time he played, he managed to reach Destoroyah. Before he played, we wanted to disable the "Micro Oxygen Chest Cannon" so make it an easier fight.
But to our surprise, he wanted us to leave it active, saying if 'Godzilla could face this monstrous end without fear, I cannot offer anything less when doing the same in his shoes'. And even though he died many times, on his last attempt, he finally won! He felt like he was the king of the monsters!"
RIP Koichi Kawakita
GODZILLA(Game) FAMITSU INTERVIEW (Part 4)
Q: Godzilla fans will no doubt feel the faithfulness throughout this game, but was it a hardship to endure the production of this game?
"In several ways, without question. Creating resources in pr...oducing faithful monster models, producing upon an engine that would physically bring out our ideas, and trying to achieve the perfect emulation of the franchise, all of this was difficult. Our budget wasn't incredibly large, so we had to make budget cuts, remove certain ideas, and work with what we could."
Q: What other processes did you have to go through and understand when making this product?
"A lot of them! We studied how to capture the life of a monster through animation. We learned how to make them look like real monsters, but still keep the feel and movement of the suits and props used within the films. And we constantly watched every single movie of Godzilla to learn how the film set was destroyed and decimated whenever these giants rampaged on scene.
Backgrounds were studied this way as well. We used painted backgrounds just like the films, but to make the world feel real, we would model out the environments, and have the paintings within the far back. So in all, the world of the game is indeed vast, but it is still kept in the veins of a film set or stage. This was the most difficult to understand as it is tricky to handle, if you do it poorly than you'll destroy any sense of immersion that you built around the player.
In terms of getting the look down for the SFX used within the films, we would do look at behind the scene footage sets. This was extremely helpful when doing Mothra's reflection scales. Same with Gojira's Atomic Breath, King Ghidorah's Gravity Beams, and Hedorah's sludge attacks.
Basically, aside from the help from our seniors, we let the films educate us. After all, sometimes finished works are often the best references to research from. If you're going to develop a Godzilla game, never take samples of the source material, embrace all of it."
Q: Speaking of monsters, how did you get their models so closely to their respective film counterparts? They look outstanding!
"3D Scanning helped us achieve such success from highly detailed figurine sculpts with vast articulation. We had fine assistance with MonsterArts for the help. Heisei Godzilla, we found him to be the best representation as the lead Godzilla, but creating a model with perfect likeness was troubling. Once our partners were on board, it went smoothly. Of course, if you pay attention carefully, you'll notice that our Heisei Godzilla is that of 1989 with hints of 1992, so despite using their figures we still had our own respectable ideas.
With their figures and our resources and digital assets, we were capable of combining both figure and digital craftsmanship into a faithful product. Although for a few monsters within the game, we naturally built from the ground up like Hedorah for example. Should we do another game again soon, we're playfully looking at X-Plus as our next vessels to model from."
Q: Oh? Another game again? Teasing a bright future or an upcoming project hmm?
"It's a game of wait and see! That's all I can say! It all depends on how this game does. None the less,
If fans tell us what kind of Godzilla game they want next within collective pools of gathered data, and really hammer the idea against our door, we'll see where things go from there. The fighting genre is looking to be the most demanded and often requested field for a Godzilla game as of late. If enough voices support this, we'll see if it's on the table. "
Q: ???-GODZILLA is seeing an overseas release, are you surprised of this?
"Mm, fans demanding it upon announcement, fans demanding it while attending our booths during events, and fans making a petition for its release from Japan. After all of that, it's not surprising. It's however, very endearing and sincere. Never underestimate the passion of a fan, no matter where they may come from. The overseas release is an example of what fans can accomplish should they reach out to us together. We honestly hope they enjoy our works, from one fan to another, a lot of heart went into it. We weren't looking to make a blockbuster title, we were looking to share our love for the franchise."
Wow. Do you think all those scrrenshots of Gigan actually in the game and the high-res image of his in-game model will be enough to finally convince a certain user that Gigan is actually in the game?

I'm just over here, knowing I can't play this game because I don't have a PS3/4. :T

Waiting on the North American release here. It'll be cheaper and I'm not that desperate to play it-- Although I do look forward to the summer.

^^That, that is why we need this for other systems. (Bandai Namco makes some other games for Xbox and Playstation, but not Godzilla. I might just buy a PS3 for this game.)
