However, it doesn't seem as though there's any buzz about that actually happening. Has anyone heard any news at all?

MemberBaragonOct-14-2013 8:42 PMThis is Godzilla's revival. Toho will be the company in charge of distribution in Japan with Warner Bros in charge everywhere else.
I'm sure if this bombs though, like the 1998 American 1, Toho will Gladly start a new era like they did last time to help us forget about it

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-14-2013 9:12 PMIf Toho is as awesome as I believe they are, THIS film will be Godzilla's future. Godzilla will boost in his likeability and fame even further than Toho ever would've dreamed of with their films. I even like to believe that was their original plan with the 1998 film until it totally bombed. Thus the smart decision would be to have Godzilla remain a Warner Bros. character ever-expanding in fame and awesomeness. But that all depends on the success on this film, both quality and box office-wise. Fingers crossed!

Did TOHO have any input in that film beyond giving Tristar copyright permission?

MemberBaragonOct-16-2013 4:51 PMFrom what I understand they had control over monsters included since they told tristar they weren't allowed to use the original monster griffin that was included in early versions of the script

MemberMothra LarvaeOct-17-2013 11:15 AMHm, I geuss thatdidn't extend to the animated series which had plenty of other monsters included, and was actually closer to the real Godzilla then the 98 film ever was.
