Will Godzilla still be the king of the monsters in the new movies?

That monologue from the trailer was just a quote from some1 on the Manhattan project as godzilla being a byproduct of some type of nuclear energy matched that well. He's not going to be coined the "Destroyer of Worlds" now.

People are reading way to much into that trailer. 

The reason why people are in too the teaser because they been waiting so long for s trailer so they got pumped up about so now they still talking about it

The guy is going to own that screen. "Destroyer of World" or "King of the Monsters" either title will perfectly describe him as the boss that he is.

Im going too guess that Godzilla is still going too be the king of the monsters face it if Godzilla was the destroyer of worlds he would have too go around the world too even destroy the world >.>

Based on the comments Edwards gave our Godzilla, plus the leaked Comic Con trailer, I think "The Destroyer of Worlds" is the new title instead of "King of Monsters".

Plus, as I recall the Japanese version of the 1954 Gojira film "he" wasn't used to describe the monster, but neutral terms like "it" instead. If this same thing is used in the 2014 film, we the viewers wouldn't truly know if our Godzilla was a he or not. Think of it, in real life, how would we the citizens of a city really know the gender of Godzilla?

Wait so The destroyer of worlds is going too be a new title for king of monsters that sounds kinda confusing but if the destroyer of worlds means king of monsters then im good with it

And also American Godzilla gender in unknown but i do no Godzilla is a boy it would be crazy if Godzilla was a girl

@XXSABERBLACKCROW: I assume the "Destroyer of Worlds" would be the new title, but we will have to wait for the movie/trailer to be positive. Still, the thought of our Godzilla being a girl has a certain appeal. For a realistic stand point, she could spawn 1 large child to continue the legacy (inspired from the the Toho Gojira raising Minilla).

My mind must be crazy too, for I'm imagining a more cartoonish scene where the humans are screaming "The King of Monsters is attacking!" and the annoyed Godzilla screams (in Kaiju Language) "I'm a girl! Can't you tell?!"

Some of you seem to have a fascination with Godzilla being female. He's not a female. Don't don't call him the "King" of the monsters for nothing. Enough.

*sigh*...Look, King of the monster where never a true title as far as i know. It started out as just an underscore to the american re-edit. The tite, however, became popular with the fans and eventually a godzilla comic book series used the title because of popularity. But its still a thing the fans call him. Now for your question;

Of course he is, why wouldnt he be? Its still the same monster. Its like Batman 89 and Batman Begins, its the same character with a few differences. So he will still be the king of the monsters for the fans.

And as everyone else has already mentioned, destroyer of the worlds was just a trailer thing. Besides, IF (Its if, i know it isnt) it was canon wouldnt the MUTO be the destroyer of worlds? The trailer said multi-armed form. And im pretty sure Godzilla only have two arms.

Godzilla does have 2 arms if he had 4 arms that would make him A mortal kombat fighter

hes always been king of the monsters. i dont really think he needs a title change
