MemberMothra LarvaeApr-14-2014 1:13 PMI know Gareth is making the movie return to it's original roots as a violent and dark monster sci-fi thriller movie but I couldn't help but wonder, how will we view Godzilla? Is he even the protagonist (He's confirmed to be an anti-hero, I know)?
Here's some ways I see it:
-At first we dislike him for the grief he causes but in the end come to feel almost sad for him, a bit like Wikus Van De Merwe and the prawns in the movie District 9(great movie btw, who's seen it?)
and/or
-he is a run of the mill anti-hero like the Tyrannosaurus from Jurassic Park, where ultimately we root for him
I like to view Godzilla as not just a force of nature but also a living animal thats misunderstood and suffering and doesn't INTENTIONALLY want to cause misery to people, and it is only when we attack and try to maim said animals that goads them to fight back.

MemberBaragonApr-14-2014 1:53 PMgareth has said that godzilla is neither good or bad meaning that he is a anti-hero, he is a force of nature in this movie and that is the way i will always like him :)

MemberMothra LarvaeApr-14-2014 7:20 PMI'm leaving my expectations at the door. I don't NEED Godzilla to be anything in particular except that he be a kick-ass kaiju. Friend or foe I'll always like the Big G.
